Had a quick flick through, some really good prices in there. But with the lockdown having gotten in the way of gaming this year I already have a backlog of games I want to play. Going to have to pass this time sorry!

    • +1

Absolutely understood! I do hope more restrictions start lifting and we can get back to "normal" (whatever that is anyway) soon! :)

RPG books are very well priced in this sale too.

Nothing on my board game wishlist that seems to be cheaper than alternatives unfortunately, but there seems to be some good deals here and looking at the previous post OP seems really friendly! Hope others find what they want :)

      I am! :)

      • He is.

Pandemic legacy season 1, 2 and 0 on slight sale. Nice

  • OP, it says $9 shipping Australia wide but is charging me $15. Any reason why?

    • +1

That's really weird, sorry mate! The shipping charges reset themselves to regular levels. Please try again now, should be all fixed.

      • Thanks so much. Order placed :)

  • Hi OP, some really good prices in there.
I got slugged for the full amount on shipping. Is there anything that can be done at this point?

    • +1

Absolutely! Hopefully you will have received an email from me about it already, but suffice to say anyone who got hit with the full shipping charge will receive a refund on the difference tomorrow when the order goes out. :) Sorry about the price snafu!

      • Just saw the email! Thanks so much and no worries.

    • Hi OP, some really good prices in there.

could you share some of those really good prices
      thanks

        Cheers docians.
Was tempted on Gloomhaven (cheapest I have seen it in ACT is $185), but am a bit too time poor for the game itself.

For myself I picked up Succulent as the theme makes it much more likely I will get it to the table with wifey. Even with shipping it is cheaper than what I can get for pickup in my area.

  • Hi OP, really interested in getting some games and noticed there's local pickup at Chatswood. Is this still possible with the sale?

    • Unfortunately that local pickup was at my local gaming group on a Tuesday night, but now… gestures at 2020 I'm hoping we'll be back next year but it's not looking good for any time soon, sorry!

      • All good, hope the group gets back together because I'm interested in attending anyway!

  • Looking for some ideas in the lower complexity category. I prefer playing games around the 2.5-3.5 complexity weightings but with my household, I need something lighter to break them into games…but that might still interest me… In my light category, I already have catan+1 expansion, dominion, 7 wonders, small world. Those are my lightest games.

    • Might be a bit lighter than you are looking for, but Patchwork? Only 2P though.

    • Some of my favourites in the lighter category:

Concept (play without scoring, more fun)
Pictomania (pictionary but everyone draws and guesses at once with frantic fun)
      Codenames
      Articulate
Forbidden Island (or forbidden desert, same game different theme)
Loveletter (only takes max five mins per round)
      Timelines
      Fluxx (silly but fun)
Killer bunnies (similar, silly but fun)

I like how you call seven wonders light
Just watched Rodney Smith teach the game for 30 minutes
Seems it has a fairly steep learning curve with all those symbols

I wish awkward guest had some colour

Does Alhambra hold up today? Is it better to buy the big box or the base game
      Thanks

      • I struggled to teach dominion lol. One person couldn't comprehend discard pile and what they should be buying haha. Yeah I tend not to analyze the initial uptake of symbology/rules. Because I find once you go through one game, you understand the flow of the game so it's really the depth of the game that keeps me in it.

    • Whats your thought on Dominion or 7 Wonders, and which catan expansion did you go for?

Your preferences are similar to what I need for my household.

      • +1

Both are card games but play quite differently. Both are also faster games once you get the ruleset. 7 wonders scales well up and down and dominion does well at 3 and 4 players. I find dominon base to be a bit dry by itself once you play it a bit so it's something I would get an expansion for if you plan on getting. Where 7 wonders I feel stands better on its own.

I own seafarers as base catan is boring on its own and exps like cities and knights is too much (for that clutter and length that it adds, I'd rather play something else). SF is the happy medium cause it doesn't do too much but it has varying scenarios/maps.

        • Thanks.

Seafarers was one I was looking at getting but wasn't 100% as some of the other looks interesting (pirates and explorers. Good to know its a happy medium.

    • My bad, I meant to post this as a reply but didn't, so copy-paste here. These were all in stock and on discount yesterday when I first posted.

      Truffle Shuffle - a lighter 7 Wonders?

Awkward Guests, a better version of Cluedo.

Forgotten Waters, a story telling pirate-themed game.

Alhambra, Agricola, Legends of Andor are all classics.

To answer above, Alhambra is still a great game, but the aesthetic is dated. I have the Big Box (without the Big Box, because the boxes never last) but mostly play the base game.
