Sloppy seconds more like it. No way would I buy a used pair of headphones let alone earbuds, do they come with extra wax?

  • May be targeted, TSS200TPRNP7MFQM

    • Is the coupon from eBay Plus?

  • +1

    Just bought a pair.
They cant all be refurbished in a sense of needing some kind of repair.
They are selling hundreds of them and it doesn't bode well for the product to have so many faulty.
I wonder if 'refurbished' covers a myriad of reasons to classify them as seconds.

    • Hundreds of refurbs among hundreds of thousands of headphones sold world wide is like less than 1%. Perfectly normal.

  • +1

    all gone now I think

    • will there be any more , any time soon . Because this was the second time this week.

      • keep checking

    Go to Deal

A repost for the popular expired deal that went out of stock last week https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/572857

Both black and silver and back in stock and will probably sell out quickly. This can be merged with the original

    Black - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-WH1000XM3B-Seconds-Wireless…
    Silver - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-WH1000XM3S-Seconds-WH-1000X…

    • +1

      Wow. Got one, thanks OP.

    • Who the hell started calling second hand.. seconds it just sounds wrong. Some try hard Aussie?

      • +2

They don't mean the same thing.

"Seconds" usually means products that aren't 100% up to scratch (e.g. box damaged) so they're sold at a discount.

"Refurbished" means products that have been returned to the manufacturer because of a change-of-mind return or warranty return or following a trial period (e.g. Bose and Apple offer this) and have been restored to "as-new" condition and re-sold. That would be a more accurate description of the headphones in this deal.

"Second hand" means it's been bought by someone and sold as pre-owned.

    • +1

That's a bargain. If you don't have a pair, get on this.

    • what? this is a crazy bargain, and i paid more than $100 more when i ordered my first pair. thanks OP.

      • +1

you paid 100 more for new these are checked, cleaned and refurbished

    • Great for all those long haul international flights

    • By seconds doesn't it mean 'Used' ?

      • It means there might have been some manufacturing problems or the product was sent back for repairs.

      • +2

yes used and returned to Sony. But how much used, who knows. Could be a demo model in JB Hi Fi for all we know.

      • Not necessarily. It could refer to product box damage, missing parts that were replaced, parts damaged in transit and replaced, opened for display but unused.

        • +1

          Ah kk, so refurbished.

    • +3

Received a pair yesterday from an order last week. Box wasn’t shrink wrapped and had a few seconds stickers on it, but the contents seem absolutely fine.

  • I have the version 1 and I hate the touch sensitive buttons on the sides which sometimes results in making a random call. Do these have them?

    • +1

      nope.

  • I am 100% satisfied with the earbuds.

  • OOS

  • DAMMIT just missed out :|

    • +1

Say 6 still available in Black for me?

    • +1

Get in quick, they put on back 8

      • +1

Thanks everyone, managed to nab one for $180 - will make a nice X-mas present for my sister :) Fingers crossed that Sony has done a good job 'refurbishing' this. The last refurbished item I bought was a Dell monitor and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made.

        • How did you drop an extra $20?

          • +1

@Bubbleshark: Random Ebay plus coupon popped up for me - finally clawing back some of the $49 I paid for the not-very-useful membership

  • The number of seconds that Sony sells of these is pretty concerning.

  • Plenty of silver left

  • Bought black buds seconds late last week from them. Arrived yesterday. Buds and case look new to me, box slightly scratched with stickers and it was definitely open, but nothing dramatic. So condition brand new or near new I think.
Works ok, slight issue with red light on the charging case staying on, but reset the buds and now all good.

  • Black is OOS again

  • All these seconds for sale… I'm beginning to worry about Sony quality control.

    • Might be new they flogging cheap, make room for new 4 version. Better this then showing weakness and devaluing their brand by selling at less than half the original price.. maybe?

      • i think they clearing the sock. There is no way Sony would so many returns as these sale keep popping up.

    • +1

      they sold millions globally. lol

  • I thought I needed it. So I purchased this one.. Then realized I am still using the Qc35 version 1 and a other Bose earphones.. What have I done

    • +1

Thanks for your post. Making me check the availability and bought the silver.

    • +1

      Yes you need it :)
I'm in the same boat - have both qc35 and momentum over the year.
But I was lacking in the "Truly Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones" capacity, and these ones fill this gap perfectly :)

  • bought 1 in the last deal, and it is the same price.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/572206

the sticker on the box says "seconds", but headphone looks new.

  • Hi guys,
Can anyone confirm if I use these headphones on cable connected with headphone jack?
My office machine doesn't allow Bluetooth connectivity.
    Thanks

    • do you work for government?

  • White OOS as well.

  • +1

    Looks like back in stock…lol

  • Back in stock. Bought one, thanks OP!

  • +2

Just got mine from the post office this morning, the noise cancelling is incredible! Love all the nifty swipe controls and ambient mode etc, sound is good too. Came here to post a positive comment, saw they were back in stock - got another for my partner for xmas!

  • +1

You beauty! Missed out the past 2-3 times they were available. Managed to order one just now. Bloody stoked!

  • +2

didnt need one, but bought a black pair anyway..

  • +2

You are stupid if you didn't buy one. Make sure your EQ is properly set and these will sound so beautiful. my best purchase of 2020 so far.

  • cant decide which colour I want. so bought one of each.

  • Bought the buds only because the call quality on them appears much better than the headphones

  • +2

EDIT 4 should have added per Sony eBay store:
All items available to purchase on the Official Sony eBay Store are covered by a full 12 month Sony manufacturer warranty from Sony

    • That's good, was worried and was thinking getting $14.92 cover but then found out theirs an excess of 25% of device cost which would be $38 so in total at least $52.95 extra just for warranty which wouldn't make it any different then buying new pair but with 12 month normal aus warranty its a bargain on buds.

  • Missed out :( guess I'll keep checking intermittently

    • +1

The Buds are back in stock if your waiting on them.

      • Thanks, but I'm after the big ones :)

  • +1

Just received mine via Couriers Please. Physically all well, no scratches of any sorts. Will listen shortly.

    So far so good though!

  • Receive mine this morning - unit looks physically although one of the earcups (with the NFC logo) is noticeably a little warmer than the other side, even without putting them on. Is this a cause for concern - perhaps a battery issue?

    • I will give it a test soon.

In what conditions are you in? Did you just turn them on and/or connect via bluetooth then left it as it is?

      • Haven't even connected them. I took them out and one of the earcups (on the plastic side, not the squishy bit) felt a bit warmer to the touch.

        • Ah yes felt that too but only for a minute or two. Updated the firmware and listening to them now still and they feel fine so far.

  • Just bought one. Only 7 left.

    • The wireless earbuds? Because the headphones are out of stock

  • +2

Got mine this morning. Upon close inspection, I daresay these are brand new. The box, however, has a slight dent on one of the corners. For $200 though? Who cares?!

  • +1

Got mine this morning too , look brand new despite the seconds sticker on the box .

  • I'm in VIC and the headphones arrived today!

  • +2

Received my WH1000XM3B's this morning & you'd think they were brand new - can't fault them
