  • Tossing between this or the Qicycle, mainly use it to commute to nearby tram station, it will be travelling up and down a small hill on each commute, any suggestions on that?

    • I did post a comment but it was deleted becuase I used a short URL.

In any case, I didn't like the Qicycle because it has small wheels and felt awkward to ride. It is also not that fun to fold up.

Scooters are fun and discreet and easy to fold and take with you. They also have a throttle and are more casual to ride. I would buy the Pro 2 instead of this one though

      • Thanks for the info, I agree that the scooter is more compact and easier to carry around, especially in public transport. I was just reading some restrictions/law listed on VicRoads, apparently you can get fined up to $826 riding an electric scooter that has more than 200W power, but nothing was mentioned for electric bicycle.

I am just thinking the chances of getting fine is significantly less on electric bicycles as they are pretty much everywhere in the Melbourne CBD!

        • Yeah that's fair enough, though would a police officer actually care to check if a scooter is 200/300/600W? Fortunately I live in QLD so it doesn't seem to matter - I'm starting to see heaps of electric scooters up here which is good - they are becoming more mainstream. There is a new Qicycle but I haven't seen it in Australia yet. The new one has larger wheels and looks better.

          • @S3ISOR: Ended up purchasing the Pro 2 even though it's illegal in VIC. It has 600w vs 250w on Qicycle, though the charge time indicates 8-9 hours. What's it like for your one? How long to be fully charged and what's the average range you get out of it?

  • Is this a really good deal?

    • This is a good price, but I think the Xiaomi Pro 2 is much better value at $663 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Mi-Electric-Scooter-Pro-2…

      • Main difference is battery/range right? Buying for wife to commute to work in CBD which involves uphill (in Sydney).

That's all I have gathered. The Pro 2 is also easily hackable if that interests you. I ordered a Pro 2

You do realize electric scooters are illegal in NSW?

          • +1

@orange123: Yeah that sucks for NSW. Hopefully @jace88 is aware. I'm in QLD so it's all good

          • @orange123: What? Oh shoot… didn't realise that. Thanks guys, have submitted request to cancel order.

Thanks OP , just bought one. At that price I reckon I can get my money back in 6 months when I want to sell it.
