    Should probably include the location

    • I think the way it works is. If it's really cheap, we ignore that rule.

I recently did a first aid course (HLTFA301B) for work. The cheapest I could find was about $175. $80 is very cheap.

The box looks like a Lego Paramedic's Kit. SOLD.

  • Let us know how it goes… GST free, and only a mobile number is provided. Something makes me think this might not exactly be legit…?

  • I need to do it as well. It doesn't look legit though.

  • I'd rather stick to a more legit provider like Red Cross or St. John's, rather than Gumtree…

  • They had like $45 first aid courses from deal sites like spreets and scoopon a couple weeks ago.

    • Much lower qualification (HLTCPR201A).

  • so classified ads are bargains nowadays?

The same contact (mobile) telephone number for toilet paper (just an observation)..

  • It's on a site known for classified ads (1 widget for $x dollars) but it is a service.

Their website appears to be http://www.getfirstaid.com.au/
    ABN 76 115 043 370

I personally did mine through http://australianfirstaid.com.au/ as the testing centre was near my house. I belive they advertised in one of the group buy sites recently.

If the Internet is correct, to teach First Aid you only need:

    1. You must demonstrate you have already achieved considerable practical and theoretical competency in approved Senior First Aid. With a least 1 year practical experience AND

    2. Hold a WorkCover approved Senior First Aid Certificate. AND

    3. Hold the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

    4. Be a person of good character and able to provide references/referees.

    5. Be at least 20 years old

    • I paid $160 for HLTFA301B with St John. (If you hold a current First Aid Certificate (St John) you are entitled to concession pricing ($17 discount). So, I agree $80 is very cheap.

IMO it is important that they are a Recognised Training Organisation (check the RTO number) and that they issue nationally recognised qualifications and statements of attainment.

I'd happily try a new provider if they meet all the Australian Qualification Framework requirements, especially when they are half the price.

      • from the ad
"The First Aid Certificate, HLTFA301B, is nationally accredited and providing participants with the qualification to be a First Aid representative in many workplaces and other required situations."

To find a RTO who is able to offer approved first aid training visit the National Training Information Service (NTIS) website at www.ntis.gov.au

  • Lol gumtree.
