  • Gahhh this is sooo good but I've been buying the Dells as thats all my computer can handle… and its not yet time to upgrade as I'm going to go for the PS5 probably…. so I realistically won't need this for a few years

  • this vs the dell s2721dgf?

    • Both good, read a few reviews that put the TUF slightly above though? obviously YMMV and DYOR but.. just my quick research

      • i was just wondering if it would be worth the extra 100 or so seeing as dell is going to have a late october sale.

        • +2

ASUS TUF VG27AQ has a black frame insertion to reduce blur, if that matters to your eyes.

        • Yeah, both good monitors whatever you can get cheaper brother, will do the same trick! could potentially miss out on stock on the dell etc, (which i did) and i like the look of ASUS more

        • +1

I always miss out on them :(( how can I get notified

          • @Mujy: Do a search for the monitor specs you are after, then hit "Create Alert". Done!

            • @Shahrasb: Where is the create alert option? How do you go about creating one?

You can do a side by side comparison on rtings, they give this the slight edge with their scoring but if you actually look at the review content the Dell looks better.

    • this is built better than the dell and has ELMB-Sync

      • Rtings rates the Dell as better build quality

  • +3

Rtings rated this best Freesync gaming monitor - https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/by-usage/gaming

Yeah, something i read too :)

    • Interesting it mentions 155hz as the highest? when advertised as 165?

      • Note: Some websites advertise the VG27AQ with a 155Hz overclock instead of 165Hz. ASUS originally announced this model with a 155Hz overclock, but it was released with 155Hz, 160Hz, and 165Hz options. Some websites are still reporting the original information. source

  • Tempting to use this as a TV with a Chromecast w/Google TV.

LMK how it goes if you do haha~

  • Is there a trick to getting $18 delivery, its a lot more for me…

    • Maybe different state? my estimate is 18 for NSW

  • Ah crap, I just pulled the trigger on a full price LG 27GL850 ($799). Can anyone tell me if it'd be worth cancelling for this?

    • according to online reviews, if youre consistently gaming at higher refresh rates (100hz+) then go for the asus. i wont be, ill be using a mid tier laptop & consoles so ill be waiting for the dell s2721dgf considering its the cheapest of all 3.

      • Good to know, hoping to always be above 100hz

  • "just bought two + my 3080 from UMART" Good on you mate… don't mind me crying in a corner😉. It's very very tempting but missus would kill me.😬

    • +1

Hide it! haven't let my missus know yet… hahahah

  • Wow. Bought one 3 days ago from ple for $699 🤦‍♂️

    • Rip… price protection?

      • I don't think that's available in oz

        • Depends if you use CC! some have it :)

        • Yeah check CC as blinky said, I work in travel insurance and in addition to travel insurance on cards, we provide domestic non travel insurance (i.e. price protection etc) on the cards we are partnered with and the cover is profitable for us because no one uses it due to not even being aware they have it.

          • @baker bob: What cards have those options. Can you name a few off the top of your head?

            • @Ice009: Would also be curious! as big dumb, but i am aware of some cards.

          • @baker bob: Paid cash 🤷

  • thx brother, just ordered one

    • np brother!
