Dealfox is fantastic. Quickest shipping I have ever had to Darwin (less than 24 hours!)

    • +1

Agreed! Shipping was very quick about 2 days from order to Perth.

    • +2

Was amazed at the speed of the shipping.

any deals for class 6, 16 or 32gb sdhc cards?

    • +1

Certainly not true for all video JV.

        • +3

Not really - I don't believe there's any camera that records HD video in anything higher than 28 megabits per second - most of them record well below that, at say 12 megabits per second or 17 megabits per second

28 megabits per second = 3.5 megabytes per second

The speed on SD cards is measured in megabytes per second, and is the MINIMUM speed the card can write at, so a class 4 SD card can write at 4 megabytes per second, which is fast enough for pretty much any camera with video.

yep, and they recommend you limit your alcohol consumption too…

        • @aeon - that may be true for compact cameras, but DSLRs use pretty high bit rates (40-50Mbps) for 1080p and 720p, so it depends on the camera…

        • @ozscharfshutze - yeah good point - I didn't check some of the higher end DSLRs - the Canon 5D MKII does record at 38mbit/s according to wikipedia, which is 4.8MB/s… though I'm not sure if those people would be in the market for $10 SD Cards ;)

        • @aeon - yeah, the 5D MKII crowd will be after Sandisk ultra CF cards, but those owning cameras like the Canon 600D might, you never know, this is ozbargain :)

      • +6

I think it comes down to JV unfortunately posting another uninformed blanket statement.

I can almost assure you that majority of DSLR users won't be getting 4gb cards for 1080p video.

Not all of us have the latest cameras :)

More than adequate for my camera :)

Damn great deal, but I need microsds :( I ordered from those shoppingsquare fools, my order was sent 11 days ago and the reg post number doesnt work. Never again

    • Yeah i need micro sd also , and as mentioned above dealfox has very fast shipping , i ordered the no fear laptop bag deal on the 15th and it arrived today "awesome deal for 9.95 delivered with all the stuff in it ".

  • Awww.. 4GB?
Everything else is still out of stock from the last sale. :(

  • +7

We're planning on a new Sandisk sale for our newsletter subscribers. You'll probably get them even before the Shopping Square ones get delivered :p

    • +7

Well in that case… closes order window; subscribes to newsletter :)

    • will signup dude , thanks for the heads up as I need a few

    • Subscribed :)
      MicroSD plz

      • Yeah, I'm waiting for another MicroSD card and USB stick deal. Missed out on the last few 16Gb/32Gb deals.

This SD card deal is also good if you need some. I'd buy but I've got a whole bunch of those 8Gb Sandisk SD cards from officeworks when they were $8 each. Only opened two so far.

    • Subscribed. Will be waiting for MicroSD :)

  • Ordered this last time. They sent via Air Express. How the hell do they make money on this deal? Good service BTW, can't complain, good basic card for the camera.

  • Cheers got mine, great for the kids cameras

Could someone please enlighten me regarding the difference between the Sandisk Ultra cards and the normal blue ones?

    • +2

Differences = maximum burst read speed, warranty, platic holder

Ultra = maximum burst read speed 15 MB/s, lifetime warranty, plastic holder
Normal = no claim on max burst read speed, 5-year warranty, no holder

I know what your next question is. "They are Class 4 cards and they both work at the same speed, what are you talking about?"

Class rating = guaranteed minimum sustained write speed; class 4 = 4 MB/s

This is the guaranteed minimum speed for sustained write operations. Many name brand cards will operate faster than the class rating guarantee. E.g. My Sony class 4 card can sustained 8 MB/s write speed. Each batch of cards will perform differently but they will achieve the class minimum. Otherwise, lodge a warranty claim.

    • Blue ones… are more luck of the draw. You can get very fast ones (ones which actually have really fast read speed and reasonably quick write speed) to very slow one (ones which are really slow - i.e. the ones they throw in with a cheap phone for example).

The ones I bought from DealFox were well… performance wise.. on the slow side. Yes, I got them very quickly, but I would not use them on devices which demand high speed. They couldn't even beat the Kingston ones… Most of my Sandisk SD/MicroSD cards tend to perform faster than Kingston ones.

the shipping speed is just insane
last time placed the order after 5
and they deliver to me (SA) at 10am

    how???? that's impossible

    • +4

It's our Dealfox secret :). We've basically created a logistics system that will make us one of the fastest online retailer in Australia (if not the fastest).

    • +1

I hear they have griffins to delivery.. wonder if it is true..

      • +1

Pegasi are at least 20% cooler than griffons

    • +2

      Muggles will not understand :-)

  • The link mentions 3 pack for $10. Might want to get that fixed, Dealfox.

    • Thanks for the headsup. Might just leave for now to minimize issues with broken links. On the road so can't do a 301 redirect :(

  • well, seems good deal

  • QUESTION: Would this be good to use as filming on a Samsung G SII phone, what's the disadvantage of class 4. Most of the discount i seen is on class any way …
