      • Interesting, the one in Costco are made in China.

Most Brita stock in Australia is made in China.

Where do you get your Brita fix ?

  • Just get a pura tap.

  • The reviews are very bad for these filters.

    • How bad ?

      4.7 out of 5
      2,328 global ratings

Also, do you Brita in general or the ones sold in the UK ?

      • The ones from UK.

"Just recently restocked my supply of Britain’s filters with these. Didn’t look too closely when ordering, they seemed to look like legitimate Brita filters. I became suspicious when I unwrapped one and noticed the design is different than the usual design. Then I filtered some water and the taste is terrible. I used to love brita filtered water, I told everyone it tasted better than bottled, but this new filter is awful. The water tastes metallic. Regretting my purchase of a six pack. I wish I read the page more carefully and noticed it mentioned a “new formula”. Oh well."

I also was a bit surprised to see that reviews are not that great for some reason.

  • Great value thanks for sharing. Hopefully these are the Made in Germany cartridges too.

    • +1

They are made in UK not Germany.

I didn't read the reviews as these are Made in UK, one reviewer says it has chemical taste. I ordered 2 packs with the same order number but when it shipped the items are not combined into a single package, annoyed by these stupid system.

Really disappointed how Amazon shipped these. No box or wrap they just slapped a sticker on the brita box and shipped it.

    • Yep. Box is all beat up. Literally just stuck an amazon sticky tape on the box opening and called it a day.

      • second that.

    • so just return the item? but the box is not even in a return condition .. LOL

      • I had another box I put it in (ironically, an Amazon.com.au delivered box :)), I confirmed with them that it was OK to repack.

    • Mine has a filter missing. So 11 delivered. Opened a case with Auspost
If I return it to amazon uk they can only pay shipment upto $32. Shipment from auspost international is coming as $90

      • Same thing happened to me, only 9 filters left.

If shipment costs more than $32 AUD, they reimburse the full amount (I checked with them). Just grab a receipt from Australia Post when you post and they will refund. I've done this before with a DVD box set that cost $80 and the refund postage costs were $110+ :).

"In this situation I've checked for the best options and see that you can return the item for full refund. I've sent you the return label details to your email address. Please send the item from your end. Coming to refund for the postage charges, because your label required payment to the return carrier, you'll be refunded up to $32 in return postage costs within 7 days of the return centre processing your return. If you're charged more than $32 to return this item, please confirm the costs you incur and we’ll be glad to reimburse your return delivery charges. You can do this by replying to this e-mail and attaching your receipt to the reply as a PDF, JPG or PNG file. "

So I approached amazon and they refunded me 50% of the order on chat, and I am keeping the filters.

          • +1

@sixsense: Thanks for this, I asked to cancel my return and asked for 50% credit and they said OK.

  • Back up to $87 unfortunately, which isn't terrible value though

  • Mine just arrived and the box like others is beat up as well. It has tape all over that had print repaired by Australia Post. I counted all 12 was in there. I contacted Amazon through chat to tell them about this and got some Amazon credit. No harm jumping on chat, who knows you might get some credit.

    • Sorry can you guide me is there a chat portal for amazon. This was an amazon uk delivery
Edit - I got through to them

  • Not a good way to ship an item from 9,443 miles away in it's original box by just slapped a sticker on it and the box arrived damaged and resealed with clear sticky tape all over also not knowing whether the contents came out on a clean or dirty surface?.

I emailed Amazon, they credited the money back with no question asked. I'm quite quite sensitive to taste and I could taste the filtered water from this UK made one is unpleasant, it has chemical and bitter taste to it that lingers in my mouth for hours. China made one actually better but nbot sure if I got the faulty batch that the coconut fibers came out to the filtered water after a few weeks.

only box damaged or also the filter as well. My box damaged as well

      • Not sure when received the contents were not neat as you would get it from a factory sealed products so assumed the contents came out of the box put back and resealed with sticky tape. If you email Amazon they will probably refund you even the contents aren't damaged.with no question asked.

        • Do you need to ship it back to them?

          • -1

@JaeTee: No, you can choose to keep, donate, dispose. I didn’t like the filtered water taste so I get rid of the remaining water filter cartridges. How about you need to return it? Did you get a refund to your credit card or Amazon credit?

          • @JaeTee: I asked for refund without shipping back and they confirmed I needed to ship back to receive a refund. They were happy to refund all shipping costs though, just need to provide them with receipt.

  • My box was resealed by aust post as well. First time a amazon order has come in the original product box and not a amazon cardboard box

  • Rather disappointing in these compared to the ones we get in Australia. We get a very strong chemical smell from them… :\ Like chlorine but strong!

The box was in bad shape when they arrived. But none were missing. I think i might contact Amazon about a refund/return. They really aren't good.

  • I ordered 2 boxes.

The first came as others have said, in the original retail box. All beat up. With some Australian Post repair tape on it. Not a shipping box. :|

The second one came in an Amazon shipping box, albeit a week or so later. Annnnnnd with an external computer HDD in it. But because I'm too honest at times I'm returning it. Apparently they will cover the $100ish return postage.

But yeah, this wasn't such a great deal after all, especially going by the posts saying the taste isn't very good. I'm yet to use one though, so can't comment on that yet.
