Octa core means 8 cores, named after Octopus which it has 8 legs, if anyone wants to know. I learnt this in School when they taught trigonometry, good o times

So Asus laptops come with international warranty by default right?

    Is it a good deal?

Showing me Total of $1293 including $193 import fee Deposit when I go for checkout

      • You need to have a Prime account

        • I have a Prime account . Thanks

          • @archer175: Used my prime acc and checked out at $1087. Is it a good deal?

            • @zeus2212: Looks like the deal is gone. Will expire.

@zeus2212: Yeah the specs are great for the price

              • @miarn: Price jumped up a bit, $1100 now. Still good pirce?

                • @zeus2212: Something is up with their system at the moment. It's charging additional fees for Prime once the price went up to & $1100.

                  • @shellshocked: If you order it from Amazon US, it will be cheaper at $1156. Have anyone used Vivobook before and is it better than Thinkpad E series?

                    • @zeus2212: Current gen Thinkpad E is better. Especially the 14. All Aluminium chassis and dual sodimm.

                • @zeus2212: Yeah I'd say so. The 4700U is a beast of a CPU.

I don't have any experience with the Vivobooks though, so I can't comment on build quality and such.

Wow great specs for money but ram upgradeable? And is vivobook materials a step down from the last dell Inspiron deal?

    • +2

Reviews are saying that 8Gb Soldered but supposedly there is a spare DIMM slot for an upgrade and two M.2. connectors. Personally don't rate the Inspiron, but both are viewed as mainstream level chassis.

      • Thanks 👍

    250 nits?

    • At this price point, that's pretty good, or are you asking what nits is? If you are, its potential brightness of the screen.

Edit, now I see you are asking how many nits…. 205 according to this if it's the same panel https://www.laptopmag.com/au/reviews/asus-vivobook-15-2020

      • I was reasonably sure 250 is right but wanted confirmation. Finding it hard to get complete specs on this.

  • Asus seem to make accessing their manuals very difficult. Without knowing if the RAM can be upgraded this is a no go for me.
