I think it's more than fair to post major movie releases that will generate significant interest from people but not the smaller releases that most people wouldn't really care about. This is a big release that probably would have released in theatres had the pandemic not occurred.

Plus in an environment where other big new releases that would have made it to movie theatres, such as Mulan and Trolls World Tour, opened on PVoD instead of just being free streaming platform titles, this can reasonably be classified as a bargain.

The same principle seems to apply for major games that are eventually free on Game Pass/PlayStation Plus games posted on Ozbargain and people here are happy with it.

Guess we'll see what the votes say…

        that's right, popularity determines validity.

        • +19

Pretty sure that's how democracy works.

          • -2

@azukay: Popularity != Democracy. Remember Third Reich?

            • @AlexF: Popular vote is still democracy. What happens afterwards is a different story.

              • +5

@azukay: Popular result can be attained through falsehood, coercion, fear, bribe, suppression, cronyism, stacking, etc. That’s not democracy.

                • @AlexF: So how does that apply to our context here.. please enlighten us.

By your definition all democratic societies are rigged. Might as well move to dictatorship right?

                  • +1

@azukay: If the premise/basis is false, it’s popularity is invalid.

                    • +1

@AlexF: Still doesn't apply here does it. Are you claiming all these bots voted plus on this deal?

                      • -3

@azukay: Wouldn’t be first time. Critical thinking requires effort.

                        • @AlexF: So gather the evidence and submitted to the mods. Otherwise just keep your tinfoil hat on.

                          • -2

@azukay: Not AI type. Modern dictionary offers latitude in its in definition of “bot”.

                • +1

@AlexF: False promises; a biased, self-interested and lying media (that you Rupert?)….

              • +1

                @azukay:

Pretty sure that's how democracy works.
Popular vote is still democracy. What happens afterwards is a different story.

Simplistic notion of what democracy is. The popular vote determines (sometimes) who takes power. That isn't democracy by any stretch. Think a free press, separation of powers, accountability, etc

Irrespective, which voting system did you have in mind? One which denies representation to a good percentage of the population (as most, apart from Hare Clark to some extent, do one way or another)? One which suppresses voting or makes it extremely difficult for certain people to vote? Where voting is optional? Where a 'winner' can take a "seat" with 35% of the popular vote?

            • -1

@AlexF: Um, Hitler was elected as part of a coalition government?

          • -2

@azukay: Democracy is a joke… The very premise is self contradictory; who determined that democracy was good? Was it democratically determined? What if a majority decided against it? It's self defeating.

            • -1

@Beefking: If you say so although it appears you know little if anything about it. What's your alternative? You seem to think that majorities equate with wisdom. Might want to brush up on that while you're researching democracy - admittedly a very flawed system easily corrupted in lazy, ignorant and complacent yet "free" societies.

            • @Beefking: Feel free to move to an authoritarian country.

          • -1

@azukay: Which "democracy"? Most, like Australia, are rule of law, where the elite write the laws. And the public chooses elite group A or B.
But at least we have some freedom of speech.

OzBargain is more "mob rule" than "rule of law". It works mostly. Sometimes the mods step in, and it becomes a dictatorship.

            • @bargaino: Mods stepping in isn't a dictatorship, they work within a ruleset whether due to legal means or to keep peace; a dictator makes the rules themselves and breaks them whenever they want.

Seems like people just have super thin skins when they are told they can't have "absolute" freedom.

Major movie release mate. A lot of people were waiting for this one.

Seeing as you are the one with the problem, I think hiding it from your feed resolves the issue. 🤷‍♂️

          • +5

@Devils Advocate: Didn't you know? There is apparently a hidden cap onto the amount of bargains that can be posted onto ozbargain in any given day due to covid 19 infecting the ozbargain servers.

Please only post essential bargains people!

            • @GossipGoat:

Please only post essential bargains people!

There's no such thing as an "essential bargain".

  • how many minutes in is the rudy guliani part?

    • +1

      1.21.

Disappointed - there's nothing to it. All he does is tuck his shirt in.

Disappointed - there's nothing to it

You were wanting to see Giuliani's jewels?

        • +1

The media was making a big thing about it, like he was busted or something. There is literally nothing to it at all.
          Was hoping for more…

          • +2

@spudgun: I thought it was pretty obvious where he was going

          • +3

            @spudgun:

The media was making a big thing about it

They were trying to distract from the Hunter Biden laptop story, which Rudy is spearheading

            • @Andard: Oh please. Borat is more plausible that the laptop story, not that Hunter isn't a corrupt junkie. But save us the conspiracy stories. You into Qanon too?

              • @bargaino: Lol which part of the laptop story is a conspiracy?

And.. can you imagine if it was Don jrs laptop? You wouldn't call it a conspiracy would you?

                • @Andard: Why do you assume I am as partisan as you are?
There have been plenty of unsubstantiated allegations against the Trumps in the US media.
Notably the collusion thing, while having a real basis for investigation, was blown out of proportion by much of the media, and no evidence of collusion was found. Please try to get some balance in your perspective.

                  • @bargaino:

no evidence of collusion was found

Not what Mueller found at all.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Oh, there was plenty of improper conduct. But do Republicans care?

The point is the media made it sound like there was overwhelming evidence. This is not about Red v Blue, but about the media.
Not equating left left-leaning media with Fox, God no. But they are still guilty. We do not see so much partisan media in Australia.

                      • @bargaino: No it was about the law and clearly unethical/corrupt behaviour.

we do not see so much partisan media in Australia.

Been living under a rock for 3 decades I presume?

      • +2

Watch again, he tucks it in, then he goes in again deeper, also why was he laying down like that to tuck his shirt in…

Also the fact he had no issue with going to the bedroom for a drink, what was wrong with the lounge room… who drinks laying down?

        • +1

He clearly thought he was going to get lucky…so what? Wow a young woman throws herself at an older, powerful man…colour me shocked…

          • @spudgun: Agree, it was nothing compared to what he's done for Trump. A man of real integrity, a credit to Trump cronyism.

          • @spudgun: I didn't say it was illegal, just calling out that he was doing more than tucking in his shirt…

        • She was doing everything short of grabbing his dick. And who knows what was edited out.
Why would he say no to her?

  • +1

Oof, is this the modern equivalent of straight-to-video?
Since Borat it's been more miss than hit.

    • +8

There's a pandemic. Even Mulan went straight to streaming.

      • +5

I saw Tenet at the cinema. Now THAT was a disappointment…..whew…

        • +29

I torrented Mulan and I still feel ripped off.

          • +7

@Ryanek: Haha. If I go to the cinema I stay no matter how bad it is…because I paid for it, dammit!

          • @Ryanek: I didn't watch Tenet but heard review from a mate who did and I still feel ripped off.

        • +11

I really enjoyed Tenet! It was also just great to experience a movie on the big screen.

        • +4

i guess you didnt get the movie. I thought it was great! Not the best of Nolan's work but definitely not some average movie

          • +5

@RetroMetro: My main issue with Tenet was having trouble hearing the characters talk at times. Looking forward to rewatching it again when the bluray comes out to enjoy it more

            • +1

@Kallavan14: Yeah the audio wasn't great but it depended what cinema screen you were watching it on. I watched it multiple times and I found that when I saw it a smaller screen with a less good audio system (Lunar Cinemas) the audio mixing was perfectly fine and I could hear all of the dialogue. When I saw it on a bigger screen with a better sound system (Hoyts Xtremescreen) the dialogue was much worse. It is also the kind of movie where you have to be paying attention all of the time, so not being able to hear the dialogue was a bit of an issue.
