    • The main difference is the power. The V12 power reaches 185 airwatts and the T20 only 150. Also, the V12 has cool accessories. One sucker with LED light and the tube can be folded to reach under the sofa. We can expect to buy it in occidental countries by January.

seems like better battery (2700mah t20 vs 3000mah v12) as well.

      • yes that's correct. I guess a true ozbargain would just wait and see if that one is gonna be dropped in AU. They said that its gonna be China only, but i guess that's the same with most other products.

        • +6

"True ozbargain would just wait and see if that one is gonna be dropped in AU"

Dunno about that one. A True Ozbargainer wants the best vacuum, but for the best price.

We don't know the V12 price yet. If it ends up being in the $3-400 AUD range then I agree

Based on pricing I've seen thanks to Google, it is around $300 USD, which is around $420 AUD but you have to factor in GST, so thats around $460 AUD +. I'm also not taking into account shipping costs and how banks like to take 3-4 cents/dollar when converting currency (We can assume you get it for AUD price though). So, you're probably paying around that if you plan to buy it via China.

Now, if it goes to local retailers and other places, it will probably end up costing around $500 AUD. T20 right now is around $340-350 with 2 years warranty and you can get extra attachments via their referral system + discounts.

So unless you're willing to wait another 6-7 months for a good deal just so you hear about the V13 being released in 4-5 months later I don't think it is really worth the wait for a Ozbargainer.

Now, if you have a perfectly good working handheld, but you want to upgrade ok sure why not wait and see what the prices are like.

EDIT: sorry for such a long post lol

          • @BarginGrabber: base on what i saw on taobao, is gonna be the same as the T20 price, but it should be below 400

            • +1

@sushimaster: I looked up more links.

It said it is retailing for 1899 yuan, which is roughly $400 AUD.

However, same article said it would be $300 USD, which would make it $420 AUD (excluding all the other costs like GST).

I'm also curious to see if they give other countries retail Chinese price on the item.

              • +1

@BarginGrabber: Even global Xiaomi products sold here officially have a considerable markup outside of China vs in a Chinese Xiaomi store. I've done this comparison myself when I've been there.

Doesn't hold logic to assume they would internationally ship to a higher purchasing power, higher consumer law country for the same price regardless, unless they went all-in with a loss leader to take Dyson market share, but I doubt they would start with the AU market if that's the case!

                • @Soothsayer: Wow, very information thank you. That explains why the article added +20-30 USD on the price for international buyers.

Yeah, thats why I said I was curious because I'd be surprised if it turned out to be similar pricing (This is excluding GST and VAT type taxes).

V12 shipped from China to Australia in January for like $450-500 is probably the best deal you could find for a 2-3 months after its release taking into account all additional costs.

      • Better battery but T20 battery is swappable, V12 is not. For me that's a huge benefit and gamechanger especially when it comes to these Chinese vacs with unproven long term support - battery longevity and being easily able to swap it out.

If the price of a T20 + extra battery is equivalent or still cheaper than a V12, that's easily best bang for buck for me right now, especially considering you can get it now vs waiting until ~mid-2021.

        • V12 battery isn't removable? I had no idea, in the video it looked like it was similar design to the T20.

I agree that is actually a massive negative to me.

I wouldn't even say it is just Chinese vacuums, all handhelds usually the first thing to go is the battery and that includes Dyson (But I think V10 and V11 have really good long lasting batteries now)

The V12 for me, I like the 185AW extra suction and that one attachment that can bend to go under couches and similar objects.

Those are the two improvements I like over the T20

          • +1

@BarginGrabber: Don't know that for sure, the intel is literally just the uploaders comment in the video someone linked earlier haha.

And yeah I say Chinese vacs as Dyson always has excellent post sales support and parts availability, even if the part only has a limited lifecycle - I repaired my very old ball vac recently with new parts from the Dyson store to keep it going, which I can't imagine ever happening with a Xiaomi vac, so a "spare battery" available from the start gets rid of that completely.

But yes agree, I think playing the waiting game as someone else said above is not the right way to think about these as there's always a new Xiaomi vac coming out in 6 months time with new features. For me, T20 is currently the best cost vs functions option right now. They're not GPUs, cars or phones, at the end of the day… they all suck!

argh i just bought the Xiami Dreame11 yesterday, is it possible to switch to the v11LIMITED coupon code?

  • Got a dreame v9 for only 2 months, should I pass this one?
Purchased Dyson V10 for parent, Dyson V10 has stronger suction and battery last longer (med mode) than dreame V9 (but still get the job done). How does the dreame v11 compare to Dyson v10 on suction and battery?

  • Since the battery is not replaceable…what happens in 5 years when the battery life is less than half ?

    • +1

      You can replace your battery.

      • How? Do you have a link to a store page that sells the replacement battery?

        • +2

We have v9 and v10 spare battery, will have v11 shortly.

          • @Gearbite: Keen to see pricing for v11 spare battery. Could get 2 if the price is right.

          • @Gearbite: How much is v9 and v11 battery?

          • @Gearbite: Reviews I read say that the battery is not replaceable which contradicts what you have said. Could you please confirm whether the battery is in fact replaceable?

            • @lookingforTV: I have the dreame v11. The battery is held by 2 screws which are not hidden. So provided you can source the replacement battery i don't see why you cannot replace it. granted in the t20 its not screwed in but should work the same way.

One caveat though the screws are star shaped and not Phillip's or flat head.

            • @lookingforTV: battery is replaceble.

          • @Gearbite: Bring this back please Gearbite - need to jump on!

    • Most vacuum cleaners I have used never made it past 5 years.

    • Nice, 3-in-1 vacuum. Can track the criminals if they steal the vacuum, also while they're watching TikTok on it.

  • Hi, I am trying to purchase a v11, the price is coming down to $399 instead of$369 after applying the code BestDreame.

    • try code V11LIMITED, worked for me!

      • Thanks jhalajd, it worked.

    • Manage to figure it out?

  • Thanks OP, just ordered one!

  • So which model is the best? carpet & tiles

And what model of Dyson is it comparable to?

    thanks

  • is this far superior to dyson?

  • Not sure if I should order one, got the v9, it was good but nothing extraordinary..Not sure how v11 goes.

    • V11 is 150AW vs 120AW for V9. Also, 20KPa vs 25KPa.

Charging time is also 2.5 hours compared to 3.5 hours.

A lot of other stuff too. So, I think overall it would be a better experience.

There is the T20 being released very soon, which is pretty much an improved version of V11 but it costs around the same if not cheaper.

If you want more information about that one, just pm me. I don't want to make the message too long here

  • This or dreame T20 on indiegogo?

    • dreame t20, mainly for the swappable battery (huge plus). Its also cheaper by $20. Comes with 2 year global warranty as well (they don't ask for it back, just send them vids and pics of the issue).

  • Are the batteries replaceable?

    • Apparently they are.

    • You'd have to unscrew them apparently which is not as convenient as the t20 where you can slide it off and put a new one instantly to resume vacumming

  • Is it possible to clean the carpet with the included head?

    • No reason why you cannot. Just won't do a very good job of it.

      • Thanks, is it better to get v9 with carpet head or v11 without it?

        • The v9 carpet head fits the v11. So there's that.

  • I’ve just cancelled my order as I need the carpet head. I’ll wait until that’s available.

  • How does this compare to the Xiaomi 1c?
Bought that on the 200aud deal on friday.
New to handhelds. Have a roborock that does a great regular job, handheld will be for what the roborock cant

  • How do these Stick vacuum cleaners compare with the traditional barrel vacuum cleaners?

And how would they company with Dysons? It might be an unfair comparison, given the price point… but hey, we are OzBargainers!

@Gearbite can it handle animal long pet hair?

    • +1

Stick vs barrel vacuum isn't even close, Barrel has like 2x the suction power.

So, it is almost like comparing Apples to Oranges. These stick vacuums will do a good job, but it will never beat a cord vacuum.

Your second question in terms of comparing it to the Dyson. The V11 is comparable to the Dyson V10, you could argue it is better.

From the tests I've seen it performs just as well as Dyson. I'd say longevity wise, Dyson is probably better.

In terms of animal hair, it should be able to pick it up with no issues according to Dreame's official website.

However, you can buy the Dreame T20, which is pretty much an improved version of Dreame V11 for a cheaper price. It has things like an all surface brush (as opposed to needing to buy a carpet brush for the V11), swapable battery and a bunch of other things

If you want more information about that one, just pm me

  • For discussion about the Dreame T20 deal, please refer to post here

  • What's a T20, thought this is V11

    • T20 is the new one off kickstarter. They are comparing it to this one

    • Dreame T20 is their latest vacuum and it is pretty much an improved version of the V11 for a cheaper price

  • Ordered a V11 thanks OP.

  • Ok so the head that comes with this doesnt not work on carpet or rugs. Useless can OP please do a deal on a normal head that works on carpet also. Prob better on getting the T20 as it had a "normal" head.

    • That’s why I cancelled my order. Ordered the other one.

  • Wow, RIP to me who bought from gearbite this when it was released for $489….

  • Mine arrived today. Friday night sorted! haha

    • Weird flex… but ok.

  • are you able to switch out the hardwood roller for a v9 carpet brush roller or do you need whole new head???

  • Mine arrived in a week. Comparitively to the dyson V8 it is much more powerful, build quality excellent and battery amazing. Only thing is that is doesnt come with carpet attachment. Could anyone link to a carpet attachment?

  • Is this code still valid….doesn't seem to be working for me?

    • didnt work for me either, I would say the code has expired

  • This arrived so fast, can confirm, on par or better than a dyson v10.. ordered the indiegogo one too because of extra battery and all purpose brush ♥

  • This code has now expired. I Just missed out

  • I love this vacuum but missed it, is there any chance in future ?? :(
