Edit 27/10 1130am: The listings are removed online, the items are still available in some stores (6000mAh spotted just now), but the PD 12000mAh will be very limited now. See below for yesterday's stock listing and check with your local store if it's listed.

Edit 2: 1 User has reported their unit burnt out from the last deal, see discussion.

A further drop from the previous to $10 and $5 from the previous $14 / $7 post. Thanks to awoff1 for the report.

The 12000mAh in stock in 8 stores between the 2 colours or available for click & collect at 22 stores for green and 34 stores for pink. Do a ctrl + f to see if your local store is listed below. • Thanks got 2 ultra slim ones
Will be good as portable power supplies for raspberry pi or chromecast

    • +1

FYI, the 12000mAh version is also still available and is now down to $10 (if you can find any).

  • +2

Damn none around Wollongong. Thanks though, would've been perfect gift for my little cousins.

    • +2

would've been perfect gift for my little cousins

      So they run on batteries?

  • Can someone weigh these and tell me how many grams they are?

    • +5

      223 grams fully charged.

      • +6

Wonder how heavy it is if fully depleted.

        • Pretty close to the same. ;-)

        • +2

          About 9.6x10²³ eV less.

        • LOL. Well, in theory, the number of electrons that go out the negative terminal equals the number of electrons going in the positive terminal, so not even the number of electrons would change.

  • +11

one of mine caught fire after power delivery reported to ACCC and store

    • +2

      Seriously? you're joking?

Personally I avoid dirt cheap or unknown batteries for reliability and quality reasons… I guess safety reasons should be another reason to go with proven battery brands.

    • +4

Can you expand as you said it like non challant. And if that happened Target could be sued or be at risk for this. Don't need ACC. But like some evidence to your claim. As these have to meet a certain standard even if cheap. So what you said would be on the news dude. If that happened not on some forum

      • +5

Its true I saw the photos he posted of the burnt out pack from last deal..
        100% TRUE

        • damn, any thoughts on what happen. Maybe it doesn't have the protections like overcurrent or temp, etc… so plain charger no protection any link to this pic.

Ouch. So should i not get them from what you guys have seen or was it freak incident

          • @Perthsucks: So far, I have not seen another person report a similar problem so it is likely to be an isolated incident. I didn’t buy one myself, firstly because I already have a nice 65W Xiaomi and 60W Ravpower powerbank (but you can never have too many powerbanks). Secondly, Vic was in lockdown and my local store didn’t have stock for pick up. Lastly, I didn’t want to risk it after learning of the potential fire hazard. The last thing I want during these pandemic situations is a burnt house.

      • +2

I saw the pics too and I was the one who first asked paloverde88 to post the pics of the melted powerbank.

    • Thanks for the heads up!

The nerd in me wants to say it caught thermal run away which is different to fire because it can’t be smothered to put it out.

    • +1

A link to your comments in the last deal would help.

  • +14

I have to say charging a fee for click and collect these days is just disgusting. Its not like they are paying their workers extra to do their job.

    • -1

But they're paying then to fulfill your order instead of you going and getting it from the shelves yourself. It's not like they'd be sitting around with their thumb up their rear without orders to fulfill.

  • see this link from previous deal where I even paid more by $4 deal

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/571332#comment

    • -6

Are they any good, as per someone coming up with the non-challant mine caught on fire pfft, would of been on current affair. It it did catch fire we wouldn't of herd from him are Target would have to pay him out big times as fines for having tech that doesn't meet certain requirements big-time pay out.Guessing his died not fire.

      But how have yours been

      • I'm sure if you ask nicely he may post the photos of the sizzled power bank..

      • I’ve saved the two pics paloverde88 uploaded but if s/he isn’t posting them again there is no point for me to upload them.

Don’t think paloverde88 is making it up and s/he is just giving us a word of caution on their experience with the powerbank.

      • I am guessing that English is your second or third language.
Try proofreading your comments before posting and spellcheckers should work automatically when you type.
Haven't been to Perth but I heard it's great.

  • +1

I picked up the 20k version for $14. Wasnt going to, but at that price well, why not..

Also, just because it may show online as no stock, it can still be worth checking.

    • I agree. I got one of the green powerbanks from Launceston store last weekend, even though online said it was sold out. I'm heading back there today to see if any of the pink are left at $10.

  • I checked all the stores, and all the stores say nothing available, so i guess there is nowhere to get this?

  • Thumbs up for listing all availabilities, time saving for sure

    • -1

      except none are available

  • I got an email this morning that they couldn't fulfil my order for pickup at Chirnside Park VIC.

    • -1

yeah because none are actually available

      • And u know why…. I was told a shit load of the clearance stock was sent to the store in Canberra I visited today. I wonder if it had something to do with not being able to list them in melb re covid
I managed to get 4 (2x1200 and 2x 6000) alongside 3x cheap phones- boost reo for $20 and 2x boost jets for $10 each. Had heeps of 6000 left and a few 12000 and one 20000 for $20

        • +1

you should sell them, because people want them, but can't get them.

  • There is stock around, but i imagine would probably go quite quick at this price. Its a matter of going into the store

    • Harder to do today for Metro Victorians.

  • +1

About 5 units remaining in Ararat.

  • I ordered and received 4 of the slim ones (@$7…) via click and collect..

No issues and they look like nice cheap Xmas gifts.. I might try to pickup a few more to use as power sources for some of the motion activated nightlights around the house as using 3xAAA or 4xAAA rechargeables tend to be more annoying to replace/recharge than simply swapping a powerbank instead..

Assuming I can easily figure out the wiring to go from USB -> some other connector..

  • I get 'page not found' on links to both of these now..

  • Thanks! Organised 4×12, collect from Earlville Qld.

  • +1

Had some of the 6000 model left at my loca Target but scanned at $10. Said their internal website saying $10 as well

    • That sounds like this one which has USB PD, same as the 12000mAh. Also in green or pink.

The 6000mAh in this post for $5 doesn't have USB PD, it's just a black ultra slim model. Edit: Image here.

      • You're right.. but there doesn't seem to be any way to actually find or order the $5 power banks.. Every link ends up either being a 'page not found' or points to the $10 power bank which isn't the same..

I would have been interested in more of the 6K mAh ones as they look like a useful size to replace a number of 3x or 4x AA/AAA lights.. and at $5, that's about the same price as a 4 pack of AA NiMH in any case (from other ozbargain coles deal..)

  • Does anyone know the brand or manufacturer of the rechargeable batteries inside

    • one way to find out ;)

  • Just grabbed the last 12000 mAh Fast Charge one at Mowbray. There are some 6000 mAh ones left for the same price. I was disappointed to see the 20000 mAh one that was there a few weeks ago was gone. Might need to check in the city store. They were all still marked at full price, of course.

    • Soz if this is too late but I grabbed the last 12000mAh USB-C one yesterday. Still plenty of the non-PD USB-A 12000 left, and quite a few of both 6000. I think I counted 12 of the former and 8 each of the latter.

  • Still loads of the grey 6Ah $5 ones at Target Morley
