5% off Woolworths Wish eGift Cards @ RACV (Membership Required)

1300

Surprised to receive this email: RACV still offer 5% off WISH Gift Cards.

Unlike Entertainment Book where the discount is currently 4% (normally 3%) and gift cards are only useable for the brand on the gift card (e.g., Big W or Dan Murphy's), this is the original WISH gift card useable across the Woolies group, including petrol.

Unsure how long this will last, there are no end dates noted on the RACV page.

Definitely a welcome (temporary?) reprieve from what many of us thought was more or less the end of 5% off WISH gift cards.

    Still also works via RACQ

  • What about NRMA?

  • Yup! Have been buying these from RAC instead of cash rewards since the reduction in prices. I expect RAC to bring the discount in line with others in the future.

      And you didn’t tell us!?

      • +1

it was mentioned in one of the woolies GC deals last week….

      • I thought it was common knowledge. As I got the news from one of the Cashreward threads.

If I can a friend's RACV log in is there anything stopping me buying these for myself?

    • +2

You just need their racv membership number, full name and email ro buy. No need to login to their account

      • Thanks, purchased $3k today.

  • Also for RACT

Most of us have probably stocked up on enough Wish gift cards before the drop to last us a decade lol…

    • +5

      Not really

      • My condolences.

    • +2

      Yep, $2,500 in fact.

      • +1

        Me too.

      • Don't lose your Wish card details or it will be - Doh!! 🤦

As discussed in similar 5% off NRMA Deal

WW probably cutting off CashRewards because there is basically no impediment to getting 5%. These behind the paywall type of schemes will still be happening. Or until end of COVID19 and the economy opens up a little bit more and business starts to flow away from them they will come back with 5% offer.

    • I have access to two other options one of them still offers 5% discount the other has dropped them from 5% to 3-4% depending on which cards BWS/Big W/Woolworths etc. One is via work and the other via a professional membership, so essentially paywalled. Seems to be variable though.

maybe they done get any commission, as you would assume cashrewards is taking a cut also

  • RAC don't accept cash anymore in store anywhere in WA?

rodriguez just offloaded his last brick of powpow and I'm looking to buy some groceries for 5% off

  • Does anyone know if anywhere I can still get 5% off as I don't have any membership kind of things
Forgot to stock up and now I can just get 3% off WISH or 4% off Woolies :(

    • Find relatives/friends with membership.

Problem is whether you'd bother your friends and family for 1 - 2%.

If you could get them to buy $10k in the one go then yes it would be $100 - $200 for that hour of time. But having to buy them in increments. How much is time worth I guess.

I've been taking some business away from Woolworths and just go to Aldi with 2% from HSBC.

        • HSBC is capped at $50 per month if I am not mistaken

Also really the discount is 5% not 1 or 2% as the current 3% off will expire soon

          • @theUnderdog: $50 is like $2,500 a month. Not sure how much people are buying from WW.

            • +2

@netjock: Lots of our fellow OzB use the discount for fuel (Caltex) and alcohol (BWS)

We average $1.5K per month for giftcard so $75 saving a month or $900 a year. Quite a lot once you think about it

  • How to buy more than 10?

    • +1

Have you tried ordering on different days?

      • no not yet. I need to get 95 cards for my company. It's just too much efforts to do it 10 times

        • Do not spend your own money. Did you get an email from the CEO? There was a discussion on the forum about that. Spoiler alert- - it was a scam.

Someone else mentioned somewhere - NSW Seniors card holders & so I just gave it a test run. I couldn't access their portal via my PC however I was successful on my smart phone, and it worked a treat. 'Touch wood' will continue to be available!
