  • Now we need an eBay 20% off sale, looking out for the XF 56mm f/1.2 R

    • You might be interested in this deal

      • Yeah saw that but I still think it's overpriced. I might get one at 700$ mark.

  • I have and enjoy my xe3 but I wouldnt reccommend anyone buy into fuji now. There's simply better fullframe optiosn for similar prices (better dynamic range, low light and AF). The real advantage use to be size and cost but theres full-frame cameras smaller than the XT4 for not much more money

I'm not a Fuji user currently but there are reasons for using a camera system more than just DR, high iso performance and AF. These were never Fuji's main selling points but rather the quality and rendering of their glass as well as their in-camera processing which is unavailable elsewhere.

Exactly right. Unless you're buying a Sony, you're buying a camera not a computer, so mere comaprison of spec sheets is utterly pointless.

    • There are full frame cameras with better ISO performance and AF definitely - but the X-T3/4 have surprisingly good dynamic range, rivalling some of the full frame cameras in some cases. E.g. a few reviewers have placed the X-T3 & 4 above the Canon EOS R in dynamic range, which is one of the closely priced full frame cameras, I've seen other reviews claiming the X-T4 has greater DR than even the EOS R6.

I think the Fujifilm lens selection is a let down though. They do make some great photo lenses, but not many great hybrid (i.e. photo & video) lenses imo.

I would also say don't buy into to Fujifilm, but I got an X-T3, with a lens, for $1,700 last year that I've enjoyed. That price put it well below an equivalent full frame, and it had better photo & video specs than even the higher level full frame cameras at the time (video especially with in camera 4k60p 4:2:0 10 bit recording). Now I'm feeling a bit trapped with lenses.

    • The cameras might be small. but the lenses are still chunky.

    • fuji's lens ecosystem is far more bang for buck in terms of quality/price than any FF system out there.

      Glass > Sensor any day.

    No X-Pro 3 :(

    • Great camera the xpro3

  • Pretty pathetic selection.

  • JBHiFi has X-T200 kit for $999, make it $750 after cashback

  • Fellow Ozbs, what's the best all-purpose lens combination for X-T3? Is the 18-55mm XF f/2.8-4 R LM OIS a good start for someone whois looking to get serious into photography? TIA

    • Yeah, it's an excellent lens. I've got a variety of lenses for my X-H1 and X-T1 bodies, and I still have the 18-55. It's really good for video, as well. It's a great place to start.

      • cheers mate, looks like I am going to pull the plug on this one!

        • Managed to find any good deals on the XF18-55?

Pity that lens is not on the cashback. Any good lens on that cashback promo list?

@ChatGPT-4: 16, 23, 56, 90 - all good lenses, although should be noted they're getting a bit long in the tooth these days. I've got all of them bar the 16, they're my main kit, along with the 10-24.

@ChatGPT-4: naah mate, I am looking at https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Fujifilm-X-T3-Silver-w-18-55mm-X…. Should be approx $1600 after cashback .

            • @go2force: What did you think of the Xt-4 with 18-55. Should be approx $2300 after cashback

              • +1

@ChatGPT-4: I did have a look but I am not sure if X-T4 is worth additional $700. Do you think so?

                • @go2force: You're right, for exactly the same sensor it makes much more sense to go for the X-T3, which is indeed still a very good camera.

              • +1

@ChatGPT-4: As you can tell from my kit, I'm more about spending money on the lenses rather than bodies, generally. Having said that, the X-T4 looks very nice.

                • @mickeyjuiceman: Have you come across other lenses worth taking advantage of during the ebay sale and fuji cashback promo?

                  • @ChatGPT-4: Haven't really looked, TBH - those ones I listed above will do me, so trying not to look at anything else :-)

    • +2

18-55 is a great lens but all you need in Fuji Lifetime is 16mm, 23mm and 56mm f/1.4 and f/1.2 respectively. You are set for life for all kind of photoshoots and yes a XT3/4 body.

      • thank you so much champ, I will get started with 18-55 and then purchase these once I develop some skills :)

  • In previous Black Friday sales, do Fujifilm camera and lenses go on sale?

    • usually digidirect physical store and their online store will have 15% off during black friday , boxing day, EXCEPT their ebay store

ebay will have 15% or 20% off (depends)

    • at the moment digidir3ect ebay store 20% off

      • Thanks. Have ordered with the 20% off and will do the cashback too - great deal! Hope the cashback process is straightforward enough.

  • What is the best price of the 90mm you guys have come across?
With the 20% off + $200 cash back the lens will be $911.2..
I wanted to get it last year but the cash back was $150 and this year the up the price of the lens so..
I'm quite tempted though, should I go for it?

    • It's a very good lens, but it's a 24x36 135mm equivalent, so you do need a bit of room to work with.

  • I know this is an old thread but thought I would ask for anyone that is subscribed to it - any thoughts on FujiFilm as a vlogging camera? Was looking at the X-T200 as it's within my $1K budget. Also looks like FujiFilm will be part of the 15% on boxing day (excludes a few items - see here
