Drinking the Roku tonight as well, it's good. However, still have yet to find a Japanese gin that's as nice as Ki No Bi from Kyoto.

      • I have a bottle of Jinzu, and I do not like it.

  • thanks got another one

  • What’s the width of the bottle neck - specifically the inner diameter?

    • 18mm. I'm curious why you ask now.

@FlatulentFrank: Surely you've heard about the man who swore off women forever, and turned to the bottle?

            Got himself stuck.

        • I'm curious what you're thinking about

      • I want to be able to put my finger in it

  • About 19mm ID, 25mm OD. Screw top

  • Hopefully Roku is good this is my first ever buying a gin

I think you've made a good choice to start out on. Gin can be wildly varied in flavour. Of course, the most prominent underlying botanical will be the Juniper as that's what almost every gin is based on, but the other flavours can build layers that give nuances and twists to aroma, taste, and aftertaste. I find Roku a very pleasant gin to drink as the alcohol is quite smooth and the flavours not too aggressive, plus I'm able to actually detect the Nashi pear flavour they use (I love Nashi). I only drink it mixed - my preferred cocktail is club soda with a twist of lime, and leave the rind to soak in the drink. Very refreshing on a hot afternoon when poured over plenty of ice.

      • Not a tonic man?

        • Nope, can't stand the taste of it. I've even tried it with really strong gin and it's still not pleasant.

          • @Chazzozz: the sugar in tonic water i find masks some of the favours of the gin that you are paying top dollar for …..a bit like scotch and soda vs scotch and cola do you want to taste the scotch or the mixer ?

        • Way too much sugar and it kills the flavour profile of gins.

      • How does it compare to other gins like Bombay sapphire or Tanqueray? I haven't tried gin before but have always wanted to.

      • Same, 1st timer, could you guy share some simple mix/recipe with us?

      • will definitely try your club soda gin with lime rind. thanks

    • I haven't tried Roku, but I love a good gin. A friend got me started on gin with Poltergeist unfiltered gin from Tassie. My current favourite is Four Pillars rare dry gin, over ice with tonic water and slice of lemon.

  • Pretty good gin for the price goes well with Schweppes bitter lemon mixer.

If you after something special or not a gin lover give Nonesuch Sloe Gin a try.
Its pretty good & doesn't have that strong botanical punch that puts alot of people off gin.

  • Not the best price, was around $43 few months ago.

As an avid gin drinker, it's not like we're likely to see that price again (or at least for a long while)

So if folks enjoy the drop, it's still a deal that's not likely to be beaten tomorrow or anytime soon.

Roku is great for watching Netflix.

    • I have a Telstra TV – will this still be compatible?

  • Roku gin is back in stock. Grabbed one myself.

  • PBOTTLE only takes $5 off my price for a total of $61.90. What am i doing wrong? :(
Of course I have plus. Wonder what gives.
