na its not targeted, i got it in all my accounts but u need some "purchase history" to be qualified.

    • +1

..and the account needs to be a certain age. Not sure how old exactly. So it needs age, purchase history AND to be new to eBay plus to qualify.

      • I have it one of my accounts. No purchase history,it however is 2 years old.

  • +2

My version is $20 but with no trial. I assume because I've had a trial before maybe.

    • +1

Same, it says payment will be due immediately

    • Definitely the case. It is not a renewal of the trail option alas.

  • +3

    Is it 20 vouchers ( of $20?) or a $20 voucher?

    • +18

      20 vouchers of $1

    • +1

Jokes aside its a single $20 voucher

      • yeah they fixed the title.

  • +5

I had this last month and the voucher can only be redeemed for Ebay Plus items plus excluding items such as vehicle parts, etc. Still don't know what to buy. When I tried to cancel the membership, it offers $30 gc but I need to pay $49. Nah, just cancel it.

    • +2

      This month it's any item.

    • why cancel? ebay gives you $30 gc, to let you to pay $49

20+30-49=1, you make $1 profit and have ebay plus free for one year.

      • The offer of paying $49 for $50 gc is oftenly offered and I am having trouble buying many things with the subscription.

  • +1

Targeted to anyone who has an acc that hasn’t used plus before

    • You need to have recent purchase history too.

      • So can you buy something and then become eligible?

        • I'm not sure. Doubt it.

I have a number of accounts, and only the ones with purchases in the last 12 months were eligible.

          • @ash2000: Thats not true my account has no purchase history and i have the voucher.
            I haven't used ebay in 2 years

  • +1

eBay is kinda funny here. I was offered $50 to join but did not pull the trigger. Now I'm offer $20…

    • Different. This $20 is for signing up free trial. The $50 is NO free trial.
P.S. This deal sort of duplicates this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/532161

      • Only if you haven't had a trial before, otherwise you still have to pay the $49 membership.

        • Of course, it goes without saying. Can't have people going on free trials again and again, no one will ever pay membership…

  • Thanks OP. Didn't get any email but it worked for me.

  • when does the offer end? I see it on my account front page, but I don't want to start the trial until I know what I want

  • Still haven't received my gift card from previous deal's.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Works for me

Signed up to trial, instant voucher.

    • instant voucher in your email or on your eBay plus account?

  • +3

Remember the deal when we signed up to ebay plus trial and got $20 voucher then cancelled
    best deal from ebay yet

  • So whats a good deal for $20, and free ebayPlus Shipping

    $20 of Batteries?

    • A donation of $20 to a fellow ozbargainer.

But forgoing that, I think you can buy giftcards. So your imagination is the limit.

Also coles sell stuff on ebay. TP?

      • Sorry, no gift cards…

        “Excluded Items” means;
all items listed in the following categories:
        Cars, Bikes, Boats (9800), Car & Truck Parts (6030), Coins (11116), Collectables (1), Gift Cards (184609), Other Lots More Items (88433), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Tickets, Travel (11730);

        • Damn donation or TP it is

  • Got it! Now have to find something to spend it on.

  • +1

Got targeted, but I already had a trial. Asking me for an immediate payment of $49

  • Doesnt work for me, says I need purchase history despite having bought a few things previously.

    • check your registration country, if it's not AU it may not work.

  • Found an account I haven't used the free trial on before, now to PayPal to remove the automatic payment straight away so I don't get charged when they try and take the payment in a month.

  • Looks like its good for my account and my wife’s account.
Can I use the 2 vouchers in one account to get $40 off?

  • I signed up, got 20 vouchers instantly. However, it cannot be applied during check out for some reason.
Does anyone have a similar experience?
    Also, the T&C is different?
Validity. The voucher is valid for 48 hours from the time you signed up to eBay Plus. The voucher will cease to be valid if it is not redeemed during the Validity Period.

    • check your registration country, if it's not AU it may not work.

      • The Ebay support helped me out. I was in UK…. haha

  • Where do you get the voucher? I signed up but it doesnt want to give me a voucher?

    • +1

Got the voucher instantly. The next page after sign up. It also appears in the 'vouchers' (under my eBay) section if you missed the page.

      • I don't have that section and still have the banner ad. Very Weird.

  • Can I sign up for the trail, get the Voucher and then cancel the recurring payment straight away and still have access to the plus membership for 30 days? or do i need to wait until I have used the Voucher before I cancel the recurring payment?

    • +1

You can cancel straight away but you will only get the voucher if your account matches the requirements - no new accounts, a certain amount of purchase history etc

  • +1

"You have already tested eBay Plus for free. If you sign up now, the annual membership fee is due immediately."

So you have to pay $49 straight away to get the voucher if you have already used a trial.

  • Thanks OP, worked and looks to be a generic code: MPLUSJNL2PGRVQM

    • Didn't work for me.

  • Was a bit disappointed to miss out on the $20 voucher :(, but placed my eBay Coles order anyway and up popped a $10 voucher for my next eBay Coles shop! So you may score a further $10 if you shop at eBay Coles.

  • Had the banner and signed up, tried to use code on a few eBay plus sellers and didn't work - "This code can't be applied to your order." (purchase price $82)

    • Figured it out, make sure your country location is AU not something else.

all my accounts says ive had ebay plus before so want to charge me $49. if one creates a new accounts and signs up for the trial can they still get the $20 voucher?

  • Thanks OP! I had an existing account (never used ebay plus before), signed up and got instant $20 voucher. Already spent on some books for my wife. Happy days. Set myself a reminder to cancel ebay plus in 30 days :).

  • oh damn I must have forgotten to click via the link and ive just signed up for the trial minus the $20…doh!

    • Have you had any luck with raising it with customer service?

      • +1

yes and got the voucher :)

  • Thanks. Managed to sign up no issues and got the $20 voucher. Ive cancelled the paypal auto payment but if i cancel the ebay membership, does it stay active until the end of 31 days or immediately?

    • +3

      stays active

      • +1

        Cool. Thanks for that.

  • Just signed up to the trial and the minimum spend is $50 to use the $20 voucher - was there no minimum spend before and it was added after the "technical difficulties"? If so, that is sneaky sneaky

    • That sucks

    • Wow bastards.
I think that will put a lot of people off
There is no mention of a $50 minimum spend in the T&Cs https://tc.ebay.com.au/ebay-plus-20-voucher-freetrial

    • Can anyone please confirm that this is now $50 min spend and that it's for Ebay Plus items only? TIA

      • +1

I signed up when this was posted and got the $20 voucher. Only spent $24 to use it, so no $50 required spend for mine.

        • Thanks

      • +1

I've just signed up and spent my $20 on non-ebay Plus items. My cart total was $60 before the $20 discount was applied so can't comment on the min spend, but my items were not ebay Plus items if that helps.

        • Thanks :)

  • Do you have to use the $20 voucher in one go?

    • I believe so

      • is it voucher form or coupon code?

        • Voucher

    • yes

  • Is this promo still running? Anyone used it recently?

    • +1

2 months late but, yes it is still running. Initially my account was not eligible but after I made a few cheap purchases (from the mask deals) I got it to work.
