      usually when i do decide to eat at my table i just get rid of the mouse pad and then put it back after, saves the cleaning

        This is a good price for 3mm, but I prefer 5mm ones. I'm using "Corsair Gaming MM350 Mouse Mat Extended XL CH-9413571-WW", which is 950x400mm and 5mm thickness. (Of course it's more expensive than this, still prefer 5mm ones)

          I am mainly looking for one to dampen the sound of a mechanical keyboard, do you think that there is a noticeable sound difference between 3mm and 5mm? (For reference, I am using razer greens on a glass table - very loud and quite pingy lol)

            @ozziekhoo: 5mm one is just more comfortable feel. The surface is much softer and comfortable. The added thickness helps negate any uneven surfaces the mousepad would be on, giving you the flattest surface possible.

            Regarding the sound of mechanical keyboard, I don't think it will help you to prevent or reduce the sound. I don't know which switch your keyboard is. But my opinion is: the red one is very noisy, I like the brown one - less noisy but feeling the key when pressing :)

      Yes, mine has strong smell. Can smell it straight away when I take out from the box. Not sure if the smell will go away over time.

      It smells like rotting fish. I've read that the smell goes away with time. I'll have to air mine out outside and if it doesn't go away completely in a few days I'll be returning it, as the smell is hideous.

        Yep agreed. I will be returning mine. Unbearable. Also cloth is 58.5cm width not 60cm.
