Found another cheap deal at Cabletime and this one is an adapter that has a USB 3.0 male connector at one end and a USB Type-C female connector at the other end. One possible use of this is connecting a USB Type-C hub to a laptop that doesn't have a USB Type-C port.

    OP, Would this really work for connecting a USB-C Dock to USB-3 laptop?
    I bought similar adapter and it didn't work for this use case.

    What is the specification indicating this would work for the above case. I really need one for my home office connecting a laptop that does not have a USB-C to a USB-C Dock.

      Probably won't work. The docks that only need USB are shitty and usually come with their own adaptor anyway.
