Both models would overall be a big improvement in sound quality, but they are a lot more on the neutral side. The deep fit on Etymotics is controversial, but I got used to it after about a week and they're the most comfortable IEM I own. Isolation is also very good.
These are much better than se215s, at least 2 levels maybe 3 above them.
215 are not the best. Better to go with a cheap CN make like KZ

End up getting the ER2XR instead after reading some comparisons.
Yes. I prefer wider sound stage. Some reviewer prefer this over the more expensive ER4XR and made bold claim that they may get away by naming this as ER5XR :). So I bought it to see what it is all about.
I have ER2XR and ER-4Ps and the ER2's don't really compare.
Your one line sentence is hard to read what don't really compare. Sound quality and in what way. Obviously the cheaper ER2XR is made with lower budget.
I would look into the moondrop offerings too if you are looking into these, er4xr -> blessing 2, and er3se -> starfield. Look up reviews though and get a feel for them. They are likely to go on sale for 11/11

Nah, they don't go that deep. Feel like earplugs if anything. Personally, I completely stopped noticing having them in after about a week.
I don't think there's much that can really compete in performance at this price range, but there's a lot of good chinese offerings like fiio FH5, ikko OH10, various Moondrops, and so on. I'm personally a very big fan of Sony XBA-N3's but they are hard to come by outside of Asia.
Been eyeing these off for such a long time - great price, and supposedly great imaging on these. Never had the Etymotic style before, so hope my ear canals aren't ruptured from the awkward ear-bud style. Can't wait!
Also note, they are interchangable with other similar style cables from different brands, however some note a drop in audio quality - do so at your own risk.
