Hi guys, first post here, so please be kind! :D

I was looking to buy a new phone and decided on this, this looks like it's the cheapest price around, really similar to other offers available at present, but seems a no brainer to me considering amazon service and fast delivery!

Uk version so a power adapter would be necessary

Yes there is a feature called second space does this I believe

        • Yea second space.

  • Since this is the EU version, will this have Australia in the region list? I have an Mi5 that does not have Australia as a region to choose from for whatever reason.

    • Was the Mi5 the EU version? Maybe it was the Chinese version. Shouldn't have an issue with the EU version country list as Australia is now part of Eurovision.

      • Nope mine was not the EU version and my phone is like 4 years old. Probably things might have changed now.

Thanks OP. Ordered 3 as Chistmas presents. I've had a bad experience ordering grey market before so much happier ordering from Amazon.

  • Just ordered but order got cancelled. Anyone facing same issue?

    • My one is "Preparing for Shipment"

    • Mine's still there, says "delivery date pending". Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.

      • Mine appears as “not yet shipped” then got canceled. Just called Amazon, and Customer Service say they will check and revert within 24hrs.

        • Oh I'll keep an eye on mine then too just in case. Hopefully you can still get yours.

  • Is this an upgrade to my LG V40 thinq? Main issue is battery life 3300 vs 4700.

    • Not really much of an upgrade, but if battery is your main concern then this phone will last a couple of day on moderate use.

Other than that specs seem better on the V40, but the Poco X3 still performs very well from what I've heard. The 732g chip is great.

  • Cheers OP, ordered..

    Any 5G model link Pleaseeee????

I've had this for over a couple months now. Replaced my S9+. I bought it mainly for the camera. I'm a keen photographer and absolutely love the phone. The NFC works fine on public transport , and also pos payments. Massive battery that charges very fast with supplied charger.

Triple camera is wonderful. Bargain at $350 ( I paid 300 in the release sale). I previously had a Mi Note 5 pro and loved it .

    • That's good to hear. I have S8+ and while screen isn't an upgrade (only LCD), everything else is.
I refuse to buy more Samsung phones unless they stop selling us substandard Exynos rubbish.

Have you tried using GCam on your X3? This should result in much better photos.
I use GCam on my S8+ (Exynos port) in low light situations and results are consistently better than with the stock Samsung camera app.

      • I refuse to buy more Samsung phones unless they stop selling us substandard Exynos rubbish.

Yep, otherwise I'd probably be writing this on an S20 FE.

    • Nice insight. I'm thinking of buying this for a family member - they are coming from a Moto G5 Plus.

I was also looking into the Mi10 here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/576058

I know there is a price difference between the two, can someone help me decide? Want a decent upgrade to the Moto, don't really have a budget except no more than about $600.

  • Thinking to get this as gift, do you think we can receive this phone before end of month (Nov) in Sydney?

    • Well it says:

      FREE delivery: 19 - 24 Nov

Assuming you have prime anyway, should arrive before end of month.

Worth noting that the couple of things I've ordered from Amazon US during covid have still arrived very quickly, shouldn't be any dramas.

      • I think I have used Amazon Prime membership free trial period sometime back and cancelled it.
Do you know if I am still able to signup for free trial and cancel it again within a month (or till I get charged)?

        • Nah you can only get one prime trial per account.

Unless you make a different account and use a different card as well, then you might be able to snag another trial.

  • Nice to see this:

    3.5mm jack Yes

  • Ordered - Prime trial takes off the delivery. Thanks OP.

  • Can someone with this phone show me where you get these ads?

I currently have a Mi A2 running android one, so the idea of ads on my actual device is concerning to me.
I am running a pihole at home, but that wont help me when out and at work.

    • +1

I have not seen many extra ads on this phone. Sure a couple here and there but no more than my other Android phones and they seem to be very app dependent. I don't really use any of the Poco's pre installed apps so don't see any ads there where they are most likely to pop up.

Cast box for podcasting has ads but I had this before and as the content is mostly free I am OK with seeing ads on this as I am not paying for the podcasts.

    • +1

First thing you do (aside from protectors) is install the EU ROM. No ads.

  • I got 9T sometime back via this deal:

    Xiaomi Mi 9T 6GB/128GB (Black/Flame Red) $399 @ JB Hi-Fi
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/522477

Which is better phone this one or 9T?

  • Any recommendation for case and screen protector for Xiaomi Poco X3 ?

    • +1

For screen protectors I'm gonna grab these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001413350136.html?spm=21…

Bought from this store when I got some for my Oppo A52, very good quality and nice and cheap.

Haven't decided on a case yet though.

      • This comes with a "Carbon Fibre" skin. For $11, I seriously doubt it's real carbon fibre….but the 2-pack screen protector is definitely worth it. AE has some great deals for cases and screen protectors. Now that they accept PayPal, I'll probably order from there.

    • Doesn't it come with a screen protector and case already?

      • Yeah, a plastic screen protector and a clear jelly case.

Can make do with the case for sure, but better to get a glass screen protector.

Spigen is a reputable brand so this should be a nice case

    • Comes with a screen protector factory installed. Also comes with a basic plastic case on arrival.

I am so far happy with both but may look to get a case with card pockets later.

Anyone into custom ROMs that doesn't like MIUI can flash an AOSP ROM, like Resurrection Remix. Community support has been excellent considering the the phone was only recently released. I expect this support to last for long time.

  • Hey guys, would this perform similarly to Huawei mate 20 pro?
I currently have the mentioned phone, it's good enough for what I do daily for the past 2 years but recently the camera lags pretty badly while catching the first few pictures and some softwares lag and crash. I don't play games on my phone at all.
I want a phone with a fast and decent camera to capture family moments.
I'm not looking to upgrade to something super fancy, and I was looking at Samsung S20 FE but from specs wise it doesn't seem to be much better than this Xiaomi phone. Would this be good enough for what I want? Thanks.

    • Did you order this? I kept deliberating, reading reviews and the price has gone back up. One of the things that kept me from buying was lack of telephoto camera and overal weight of the device.

      • there is nothing better than Poco X3 NFC in this price range. The specs are unreal for $350!

        • You're right, I just waited a bit too long, and have been regretting not clicking the "place order" button.

Anyone get a delivery date yet? I ordered Sunday night and it's still saying the delivery date is pending…

    • Nope not yet, I'm about to hop on chat and see what's up.

    • +3

Chat just said that due to high demand, everything's a bit delayed. But it's all in stock so should receive a notification of a delivery date shortly.

      • +1

Thank you for the update! I really appreciate it :)

        • All good! Hopefully it gets dispatched soon, the "preparing for shipment" just feels very ominous LOL

    • Contacted Amazon on chat…..expected delivery end of November or first week of December

    • Any updates yet msimpatient, I've just ordered on the new deal and have been given the same "delivery date pending" message, just looking for hope they have or are actually being shipped..

19:59 Local time | Customs status updated

        Monday

It's soooooo close!!! Currently saying 30/11 for delivery! (original ETA was 5/12)

It took from 8/11 to 20/11 to get any shipping notification… and 4 days later it is in Australia…

        • Customs update is not a necessary indicator that the item has entered Australian border. They could send that information in advance.

          • @kampret: Yes they do send customs info in advance.

        • My one has completed customs clearance… but in Hong Kong :)

        • Awesome! Thanks, even if it hasn't shipped like the others suggest at least it means they have something in stock to ship.

Anyone wondering about what warranty Amazon will provide for this phone…..Here is a (part) of chat with Amazon:

11:20 AM AEDT ********: while I have you on the chat….in case there are issues with the product, how is the warranty handled? (considering it comes from UK)
11:21 AM AEDT Syeda: I understand, if there is any problem with the order after delivery, please contact us and we will assist you (Refund on return)
11:22 AM AEDT Syeda: You can return the product for the refund.
11:22 AM AEDT ********: great. Since the warranty is 2yr for this product, would the same process be used throughout entire warranty period?
11:24 AM AEDT Syeda: Yes, for the global store orders (Amazon US/UK), we do not have the option of replacement. So, you can return the product for the refund.
Yes, the process will be the same *******

    • Wow, 2 years warranty still? That's crazy!

      • Exactly! I've printed this chat and saved it in a safe place in case Amazon ever objects to a warranty claim

  • My order was just showing pending for days so i ended up canceling it today as I assume amazon dont have any actual stock. They billed me for it despite canceling and claiming it has not been charged. The cancellation email says nothing about refunding iether. Cant say this amazon uk experience is any better than other sellers, have to contact bank now and try and recover funds. Would have thought amazon would have an automated cancellation and refund procedure. Wont be using them again.

    • My last amazon uk order took 6 days to process/ being dispatched, and arrived around 9 days later, so at this stage I'm still hopeful. I'd be surprised if it doesn't get fulfilled honestly, amazon has always been great for me, especially delivery times here in wa, if in need something fast, amazon is really the only option.

    • During prime day it took Amazon USA almost 2 week to send some pans and 16 days to ship an SD card, they arrived within a couple of days of shipment though.

    • Have they actually charged you or is it just a pending transaction?

If it's pending it should drop off within your bank's allocated timeframe.

      • Ive actually been charged despite order cancellation and no shipping. The phone calls and chat did not help much, as they insist money is just held snd not taken before shipping. However, the transaction is complete my end, not pending. Have to go to my bank now to try and reverse it as amazon were hopeless the three times ive connected with them. Wont use them again after this.

    • The easiest way to find out is contact Amazon via live chat or phone. I called Amazon yesterday about the headphones I ordered from this deal on 2 Nov and was told there was a delay due to increased online orders. This morning I received a text message the headphones were actually just shipped from Rome Italy.

  • My order is showing "Preparing for Shipment".

Has anyone had their order shipped?

    • +1

      Mine's the same.

I remember ordering something from Amazon US a couple of months ago, took quite a while to get shipped.

May as well just wait it out, or if you want to spend a bit extra you can grab one of AliExpress, but then no warranty or anything.

      • +1

Yeah, I've had the same experience with amazon UK/US…
If it's cancelled they'll usually give a gift card or something.

      • +1

Thanks. I'll wait. No other seller provides the same warranty Coverage as Amazon….and, the best part…free return shipping!

      • +1

It's a bit crappy as when I ordered it had an estimated delivery date which won't be met…. I didn't realise it would take so long to have the order processed…

        • Yeah it's annoying, but I'm not in a huge rush to get it so I'm happy to wait.

I remember one of my Amazon US orders took a while as well, but when it got despatched it arrived within the week. Hopefully that's the case with this one too.

          • +1

@mangobango: My Motorola G5 is dying a painful death… Soooo keen to get my hands on this phone!!

  • Current status is "Order received", order was placed on 09 Nov.

    Whats happening with others?

    • Mine says: "Preparing for Shipment". Fingers crossed. I placed the order on 8th Nov.

It's interesting to note that the phone page says "FREE delivery: 25 - 30 Nov" (if I ordered it now ). This gives me hope that the phone will be shipped in the next couple of days based on my purchase date.

      • +2

Or "FREE delivery: 25 - 30 Nov" is bogus?

  • Had a chat with customer support. They said it will be delivered Dec 12th.

    • How is that acceptable when it's currently saying in stock?

      • it is not. However, considering the price and a 2yr warranty that you get via Amazon with free return shipping, I think it's worth the wait.

    • +1

They said Dec. 1st for me:

09:35 AM AEDT Shiva: Hello, ****.
I am so sorry to hear that the order isn't shipped yet
During these challenging times, we've seen an increase in people shopping online. This increased demand has resulted in some of our shipping and delivery times being longer than usual.

Please allow me 2-3 minutes while I check on your order
09:35 AM AEDT ****: No worries, many thanks!
09:38 AM AEDT Shiva: Thank you so much for waiting on this.
Upon checking, I see that the order is being processed at Sutton-in-Ashfield NG17, United Kingdom
09:39 AM AEDT Shiva: We expect to deliver your order on or before 1 December 2020.
Once the order gets shipped, you will be able to track the order.
It will be shipped by DHL carrier
09:39 AM AEDT ****: Oh okay great! So the order is still at the Amazon warehouse?
09:40 AM AEDT Shiva: Yes, the order is still at the warehouse.

  • +2

I spoke with Amazon support and insisted to confirm actual status considering that the phone is in stock. This was their response….

I've checked the details of your order and see that the item is from Amazon UK, a Global Store Seller at Amazon.com.au. Amazon Global Store allows customers to buy certain exportable products from other Amazon sites through Amazon.com.au, in AUD. We currently offer products from Amazon US and Amazon UK on the Amazon AU Global Store.

I've confirmed that we've successfully secured one for you. Your order already entered shipping stage and ready for dispatch on the next shipping schedule. Our Fulfillment Centres routinely upgrade the shipping of packages on due - so when your order dispatches, we will also automatically upgrade the shipping speed of your order for you at our own expense, to help get it to you a bit sooner.

We will send an e-mail when your order is shipped so you can track your package.

Your order could ship any time by now .

    • Next shipping schedule, great!

Hopefully we're all in that too, if we all purchased it on the same day/roughly same time.

    • I had the exact same reply 4 days ago, and still no news, i wonder when that next shipping schedule is…

The other odd thing is that refunded, although the order still says "pending delivery date", is it just because they can't withhold the money for longer than a given time without actually charging you, and obviously they'll charge when they dispatch, or should i get worried?

      I ordered on the 7th of November…

  • So I ordered on the 09/11/20
I believe parts of the UK are in COVID lockdown hence the delays

12:27 PM AEDT Zac: Just wondering if you can kindly confirm ETA of an order please - 503-525xxxxxxxx
12:27 PM AEDT Manish : I'm doing good, thanks for asking. :)

12:28 PM AEDT Manish : I'm quickly checking this for you Zachary.
12:29 PM AEDT Zac: Thanks mate :)
12:30 PM AEDT Manish : Zachary, I see that your order is going to be shipped by 'DHL' carrier services and is estimated to deliver between 26 November, 2020- 06 December, 2020.
12:30 PM AEDT Zac: Ah brilliant, Thank you so much mate! :)

  • December 1st for me.

    Navaneetha:Hello ***, Welcome to Amazon!
My name is Navaneetha. I’ll be glad to help you today.

    Me:hello hello
looking for information of a delivery date for ORDER # **********************

    Navaneetha:Allow me a minute, while I check
You will receive the order by December 1, 2020

Me:okay when is it expected to leave the UK?

Navaneetha:I'm sorry, I don't see the exact shipment date of your order
Rest assured, you will receive an email once the order is shipped

    Me:and it'll definitely arrive by the 1st?

Navaneetha:I've made a note on the order requesting them to ship the item as earliest as possible.
You will receive the order by December 1

    Me:awesome thank you

  • Let me do this experiment if my order (purchased on Nov 8) will get shipped in the last batch if I don't make any contact with Amazon at all.

  • +1

Amazon told me 27 Nov-7 Dec for me, ordered on 9th.

  • I had a similar experience with the 24" Philips monitor from Amazon UK with this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/572563
Amazon took 15 days from when the order was placed until initial shipment. After it started shipping it took 8 days to get to my door. So I expect the same case with this order. I am not sure why they take so long.

  • This item it at a low price again, not as low as last time. Listed at $370.
Strangely though, the chat rep mentioned the warranty to be 1 year only and there was not much a commitment to delivery dates. He was supportive of actions to be taken in case of delays.

Me:1. What is the warranty, claim process like
    2. There is suggested delivery timeline. What are my options if those are not met
Dasu:Please allow me a minute, while I research this for you.
    Me:sure
    Dasu:I appreciate your patience.
You will be having the warranty period for one year.
Me:earlier the same listing apparently had a 2 year warranty mentioned
Dasu:Within this time,if you face any issue with the item you can contact the manufacturer if they dont respond please get back to us we will assist you in a best possible way.
Me:but this is an international order and i think this manufacturer is not placed in Australia
Dasu:Rest assured, please be informed we are here to make things easier for you.
Me:ok, never doubted Amazon for that
are you able to confirm 1 year warranty or 2
    Dasu:Thanks for your understanding Abhilash.
It will be one year defaultly.
Me:I have information that amazon reps mentioned as 2 years warranty
Dasu:Please allow me minute, while I check this for you again
    Me:take your time
    Dasu:Thanks for your patience.
There will be one year warranty Abhilash.
    Me:ok.
Dasu:Please let me know is there anything else that I can help you with ?
    Me:about the delivery timelines
    there is an estimate provided
but what are my options if there is delay
mostly concerened, should the price drop again before it reaches me
or there is a too much delay
Dasu:As the item is from Amazon.UK, there might be slight delay because of this pandemic situation.
Please do not worry, once it is shipped we will forward this to the carrier and make it delivered at the earliest.
Me:ok, in case of delay, do i have an option to cancel?
    until its shipped
Dasu:If the item is not delvered by the estimated delivery date, please get back us we will asssit you with the best available option.
    I hope you understand.
    Me:noted, thank you!

Still says 2 years on the images though

  • cancelled my nov 9th order today after getting no answers from chat help, was pretty over it

ordered from tobydeals instead - they seem to have the black in stock as well https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/catalogsearch/result/?q=po…

i used code CART3 for 10.95 off the 128gb black with screen protector.

    • Just got shipping email today… So sad for you!!

      • ahaha all good. it didn't sound like my order was gonna be shipped anytime soon, and my tobydeals order has already shipped so i'm not too fussed. crossing fingers for no warranty issues but should be ok!

    • Is this a good deal from Toby Deals ?

      • +1

seems pretty good - only about 4 dollars more than the original amazon order at $350
