    Great price!

  • +1

Just got one of these from the Pushy's deal. Very Happy So far.

    • How long is shipping?

  • +2

as posted previously for anyone else who wants to price match, call or go to Rebel first thing in the morning before OSS on this website. Even if black is sold out, get one of the other colours and change the band

    I got this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Watch-Band-Strap-for-GARMIN-FORE…
and it arrived in 2-3 days, it looks great and I find it feels better than the original wristband

    • Will Jb Hi-Fi do Price Match on that?

      • +1

I did try calling them and they told me no without a reason. I don't see why not so I just went to rebel. Worth a try but don't bother calling them.

        • Thanks Mate. Also is this one better or Vivo Active 3 One?

          • @Sunny10: Get this, unless you really like the idea of touch screen. Even then, the 245 is newer tech, as opposed to the vivoactive 3 which is well replaced by the vivoactive 4.

          • @Sunny10: Depends on what you want. Are you a runner, cyclist, swimmer or triathlon? Or do you do more gym workouts?

I'm waiting vivoactive 4 for my wife.

            • @[Deactivated]: No no swim, cyclist, runner. Just need a simple watch with pay for shop facility if possible. can see lot of deals going on so no idea what to buy?

              • +1

@Sunny10: Don't get this, it doesn't have garmin pay so you can't tap & pay with this watch

        • +11

Rebel price match basically any physical or online store ending in .com.au. Just has to be the same colour, in stock, and delivery price inclusive (or pay the delivery fee on top of what they're advertising) - source: I work there.

      • rang also, they said no. they classed old Johnny as grey import

        • It says genuine Australian stock though.

    • +10

Rebel are running this promotion as of tomorrow (November 10th) for $289 so no need to rush into store. It'll be available both in store and online.

      • +1

Who's going to post this deal on ozbargain? Who will be loved and remembered by all ozbargainers for years to come?

      • Any promotion for Vivo Active 3 Music?

        • No promo for Vivoactive 3 Music - only the non-music version which went live last week. Doubt there's any stock left in the company for the music version

      • are you sure? coz I ordered this from this deal , might cancel and get it from rebel then.. :/

        • +2

          Yep 100%.

Source: I manage a rebel store.

          • @nateadamson90: Just this model or any other Garmin model too?

            • @cloudie9: All promos are loaded now and up on our website if you want to check it out

          • @nateadamson90: do you get staff discounts on top of this sale? :3 got a friend working in Supercheap , might get him to buy it for me then.

            • @nippy: Nah no further discount on these mate, otherwise I'd be grabbing one myself!

    White & aqua same price

  • Would people recommend this or Galaxy Watch Active2 from the earlier deal for someone who is looking at getting a Smart Watch/fitness tracker but isn't overly into running? (2-3 short jogs a week)

    • +1

Depends, do you want a dedicated running watch that has some smart functions and decent fitness tracker?
Or do you want a smart watch with fitness tracking abilities and average at tracking a run?

    • +1

No dont get. The battery is garbage and you will need to charge it more often. In my case, I normally forget about it when I leave home.

      • Are you talking about the Samsung?

        • +1

Yes, I have turned everything off and its not enough for a day.

  • +2

Thanks OP! I missed the last two deals

  • Any reviews Guys? I am really after a good watch. Also can JB Price beat that or we have to go to rebel?

    • +2

I've had it for a week. The HR monitor is great and so are all running features. I don't swim or do any other exercise so can't comment.

I thought I'd like the pulse oximeter but I don't think it's very accurate unless you're very still. I get different readings depending on how tight I tie the wristband when I'm asleep.

You need spotify premium to use the music. I haven't tried it yet so I could be wrong.

There are heaps of YouTube reviews eg Desfit and DC rainmaker etc

Edit: find my phone feature is very handy. I wish there's garmin pay so I can get a drink but it doesn't matter that much

    • yep, great watch.
my wife just returned hers after 16months to rebel for a full refund due to screen errors, Ill guess she will buy another one tomorrow at Rebel when they go on sale

      • so even after the screen error, she gonna buy the same one again?

        • yeah…I hate to say it but she is frustratingly slow in the uptake of technologies. so stick with what you know :-)

    • +1

In my opinion, it's a good running watch but a pretty average smartwatch. The buttons are hit and miss and there are numerous reports of units with mushy buttons on their official forums. Mine was the same. Insane battery life if you're coming from an Apple Watch, but the software is really mediocre otherwise. I wear mine only for running, and my Apple Watch the rest of the time. The pulse oximeter is really inaccurate and often fails to get any measurement.

However, this deal is a great price.

Also $749 for a fenix 6 pro, not bad, can be better though.

    • That's a very good price I paid $849 on Amazon Prime sales. Cheapest I ever saw was $788 but that was doubled with Garmin discount and ebay plus discount code.

I've seen the Garmin Fenix 6 (010-02158-00) cheaper but not the Fenix 6 Pro (010-02158-03)

Bargain if you want one RRP is $1149

Link if anyone is interested: https://www.ja-gps.com.au/Garmin/fenix-6-pro-black/

      • I missed the amazon deal of the day where all garmin series is 50% off a few days after prime day. Am keen to see if price can go down to that range, will definitely pull the trigger by then.

    • +1

That is a great price. I just bought one off the Qantas store and used some points for a better price. It's $792.50 + 2000 points.
      https://store.qantas.com/au/p/fenix-6-pro/1034290P

      • If I had have thought of that I would've done it… great deal

  • Am I reading it correctly that this does not have heart rate monitor??

    • It most certainly haas a heart rate monitor, a decent one at that as this is still a relatively newer model.

    • It does and also has pulse oximeter

  • +1

new to running watches. do i need my smartphone with me on a run to have the 'smart' features?

    • +1

To receive texts on your watch and or calls/email alerts you do. To use it to track a run or a multitude of other functionality, you don't. It backs up and stores data on the watch that you create while not paired to your phone, and later re-syncs that data to your phone when you are in range again. The GPS works without a phone.

  • I have a One Plus 5. Will that watch works with that?

    • see if you can install the garmin connect app and have bluetooth working on your phone it should work

  • How many songs can you store on this? I guess you'll need spotify premium to store songs offline?

    Or how does it work

    • I believe only Garmin and Samsung watches have the ability to use Spotify offline which requires Spotify Premium, but you can also copy music directly - https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/forerunner245/EN-US/…

Alternative could be an Amazfit watch with music storage (eg Stratos) where you copy mp3s directly to the watch (no offline Spotify) but no Garmin Pay obviously.

    • +1

I have a Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music, and you can store your own mp3s using the Garmin connect app.
I could only assume this'd be the same setup.

      • any deal for music one?

    • Yes you need Spotify premium. I think it can store up to 500 songs. You need to connect the watch to your Spotify account and then choose the playlists that you want to sync. I pair this watch with my Sony XM3s and it works well.

  • +1

Has anyone bought from this seller before? Is it worth buying here or from JB or Rebel?

    • +2

They have been around decades. Used to be practically the only place to buy GPS receivers back in the day and long before Sat Nav.

    • +2

yep, they are very good, especially their customer service crew.
      take rebel as alternative

  • Can someone pls explain the difference between This and Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music ? Someone who have used before which one you recommend as i only need a smart looking watch with option of Garmin pay only and no other feature?

    Thanks

    • This one does not have Garmin pay.

  • +2

On a slightly related note, I was previously a Nike Run Club user with an old Nike+ watch. I changed to Strava after switching to an Amazfit watch so I used the RunGap app to move all the Nike data to Strava. I tried https://nexporter.bullrox.net/ but couldn’t find a way to bulk move the data.

Thought it might help someone if they switch to Garmin (or alternative app) and want to keep their data from another app.

omg, I just bought a Fitbit Versa second hand, would I upgrade?

  • Is this watch any good for cycling? I don't run, I just walk or cycle

    • Would also like to know how good it is for cycling. Was tossing up between this and getting a little garmin computer to attach to the bike, but with a watch i can use it for running too

  • Can anyone recommend a good watch that has a tap to pay function please? Apart from Apple watches is there anything else that works well with iPhones?

    • Garmin 945?

      • Thank you, works well with iPhones? And does the pay feature work well?

      • Wow 1k?! Anything abit less hehe

    • Garmin Pro 6 above $749 includes pay, 2000 song storage and maps

      • Thank you I'll keep an eye out for this, hopefully it goes on sale

        • That is the sale price RRP is $1149

    • Fitbit Versa 2 and 3. Reasonably priced as well

      • Awesome, woukd you prefer fitbit over garmin?

        • If you are serious about your exercise and do competitive running, triathlons etc then I'd suggest Garmin. Do your research though as different models are targeted at different athletes, ie the 245 works for a number of exercises but particularly running.
Fitbit is fine for anyone who exercises casually. It still gives a good spread of basic stats such as steps, HR, sleep etc.
If you are looking for a cheaper Garmin with GarminPay, check out the Vivoactive 3

  • Anyone familiar with the brand know if something better is coming out within the next 1-2 years? Interested in the health features but on a fitness "break" currently :p

    • I did see reports of Garmin announcing something regarding a new Connect IQ (5.0 if I recall), and also that it includes watches with AMOLED displays.

I believe I read it on DCRainmaker, but don’t quote me on it.

I’ve got no issues with my current watch (Fenix 3), so I’m holding off hoping that they update the Fenix/945 with AMOLED/ConnectIQ 5.0 before upgrading.

  • Can anyone confirm the music only works with Spotify Premium? If I have .mp3s does the watch have any storage space to just play from local files?

    • Yes, you can load local files.

I believe Amazon Music and Deezer (assuming paid versions) are also compatible.

    • +1

Yes you can put Mp3s on it. it has 3.6GB of useable space.
      source: I have one

  • My wife says thanks - she has my Christmas present done.

3 colours available at jb hifi now for $289

    • lmao, how jb hifi even know.

    • Pushys also have them for 289 too

      • And Amazon as well!

  • Shopback has a 20% cashback (Cap $50) on Rebel - 1 - 4pm today. Would I be able to use that as well ? If it works will bring the price down further by $50.

    • Looks like it.

A lot of places have them for $289 now though.
