  • I have had the brown-keyed one for around a year. Pretty good for typing, but not quiet.

    • I thought the Brown keys are quietest (at least compared to Blue switch).

Reds probably are the "quietest" out of Brown and Blue, since it doesn't have a clicking mechanism or a bump. Well that's how the Cherry MX style ones tend to go, Linear, Non-Clicky then Clicky in terms of quietest to loudest. That said, all mechanical keyboards are loud imo, unless you get a silent switch (that has dampeners installed inside the switch).

    • Not quiet at all.
one of the feet also snapped when one of the cats decided to sit on it.

  • Had the blue one. Spacebar failed just before 1 year of use. Kogan happily replaced. Space bar on the replacement failed just after the 1 year mark. Wouldn't buy again as it's troublesome claiming warranty.

    • how was the process..i'm having issues with an f key but its rarely used anyway so I didnt bother yet.

      • +1

I just had one replaced, was as simple as emailing the issue and them sending a new one which shockingly arrived next day here in Perth

      • +1

Sent an email. They ask for a video and done. They sent me the wrong replacement (brown). So I had to go through the trouble of mailing that back too!

    • lol very "kogan style"-fail after fail. i am personally not going to buy any kogan branded products

  • failed after 3 weeks. kogan replaced one.
    would not recommend it.

  • Picked one up for my nephew. He finally started using it a few months later, then it died with 2 weeks of use. Haven't yet bothered contacting kogan about it.

  • +1

    Don't recommend.

Have had 2 of these keyboards have issues with keys failing.

  • +1

I had a key fall off and I lost control.

Its only a keyboard mate. No need to go off the deep end over it and lose all control of your life.

  • I've had the brown switch version for about 8 months. It works fine but doesn't feel as nice as the significantly more expensive Ducky keyboard I have at work. And it doesn't work when connected via my USB-C hub and has to be plugged directly into the laptop. At this price I still think it's a reasonable buy.

  • Ive had the brown one for over a year, great for typing.

Also, keep it below max brightness, these led's have a habit of doing funny things.

  • Does Kogan ever sell these at full price? It seems the sale price is the new 'normal' these days.

There are multiple models of Kogan keyboard which often get discussed in these posts. There is the RGB keyboard, Full RGB Keyboard(this one) and at one point a keyboard with Cherry switches.

In terms of quality, this one is a step up from the RGB keyboard which doesn't specify switch brand. Outemu are the cheapest switches which will have their brand mentioned.

Having used this keyboard at a friends place, I don't think the build quality is that great. My friend had issues with a key repeating after about 1 year. The font is awful. Typing is loud especially when bottoming out.

For the price, I think it's kind of decent, however, you definitely get what you pay for. Spending more on a reputable brand will get you something that feels much better, in my opinion.

and at one point a keyboard with Cherry switches.

Managed to get one of those, and 4+ years later, it's still going strong.

      • I got one of those in late 2013 when they were still ~$100 or so. After successive upgrades I ended up gifting it to a work colleague and she loves it. AFAIK, it's still working fine, plus I've managed to convert another user to mech 'boards.

      • I also got one of those too and mine is still going strong in the office (not getting too much love when wfh though). I should've bought a second one for the home. I got a Tesoro at home with blue switches and some of the keys don't work all the time and it's annoying for games when that happens - although I prefer the tactile feel of the blues for games.

  • I picked up the klim chroma backlit keyboard, for $35, back in april. no problems at all. The klim semi mechanical variant, is on catch for $35 right now. free shipping.
