I got all the games for free. In that 10 list without buying anything probably a bug
EDIT: Add the 10 games to the cart and then delete 1 that have price and re add to the cart and it will show as 0

    • +4

YUP! Got them all FREE too!

(Maybe I can download and play them all before they get removed… GO GO GADGET CLONING DEVICE!)

      • Hy Lycan

Let us know how you go please? I'm at work now so I can't download mine…

    • +1

Same! Now THAT'S a good deal.

I'm sure they'll eventually disable the games and probably the accounts that took advantage of this too, so I wouldn't recommend it if you already have purchased games through your origin account.

      • +2

I created dummy account only for this

      • I'm not sure they can disable the accounts of people who purchased something through their store due to their error.

    • -8

Holy crap, I wonder if they will take them off us? Especially if you can argue that the bandwidth you used to download the games actually costed you money.

        • +6

So if I steal a car and pay for $50 in fuel before I'm caught, the owner should reimburse me, or maybe even let me keep the car?

        • -1

          Great analogy ^

I wouldn't try this on your main Origin account because they might ban you for stealing.

        • -1

Fantastic analogy. I really hope you haven't downloaded any of these games for free, Shadowsfury - that would mean that you are just as criminal as a car thief.

        • +2

Sorry but the car analogy is terrible. You went through the checkout system owned by the seller and they offered you the wrong price. People have no reason to expect a different sales experience online to in store. So essentially the person at the checkout gave this to you for a value of $0. No one actually stole anything by bypassing any systems. The pricing system was in error and as part of the T&Cs they may invalidate the licenses, but they wouldn't take any action on accounts because their sales representative sold it at the wrong price.

      • Where would you argue that?

"By entering into this Agreement, you and EA expressly waive the right to a trial by jury and to participate in a class action. "

        • +2

Most of these types of clauses in ToS have been proven to not hold up legally.

    • +8

Added all games to cart without deleting anything still showed up as $0… Someone's gonna get fired…

      • idk, when I tried mine I need to delete 1 games.

      • Accessing it in Singapore right now, and it seems to register the price properly, both on the website and Origin client.

EDIT: Tried US proxy, doesn't work either (actually, they don't even have Medal of Honor Digital Deluxe Edition there)

    • Wow, thats a 100% discount. We have a true ozbargainer here folks.

Oh btw you're a legend for finding this.

  • +1

Good deal, just a matter of time for them all to be removed from your account. I dont think EA will honor them as the UBI did last time.

  • Strange how only keys for some games are provided…

  • Wahahaha,i got all of them for free with fake billing add.
Now,My cheap digital version FIFA12 and extra 10 games are listed in my origin..

    • same i hope i don't lose my fifa12

    • Its easy for them to just disable all the keys you purchased free.

  • -1

    Site down

    • +1

Definitely has not been taken down (9:01am). Yet.

    • +3

Sorry, something wrong on my end, site is still up!

  • +1

I didn't have to do anything, just added them all to account and checked out.

  • +1

    I got 11 GAMES = $0 = $365.00 discount…….. Mulawahaha………. Thanks Ace

  • -1

i bought a free game and got the 10 listed for free, WIN!

    • +1

don't need to buy a free game first, those game on list shows $0 add to cart

  • Thanks for the (free) games ^.^

  • +1

I'm amazed they haven't taken the store down yet while they work out who to yell at.

  • woohoo got all games!! Activating now

  • Cheers works great

  • OHHHHH MAAAA GOOOODDDDDD JIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

    FANNKKKKKKK YOOOOOUOUUOUOUOUO

Do you think they can remove the games once you've confirmed the order? Do you think they'll honour it.

  • I guess they can't charge us for these games later or can they? The e-mail confirmation says $385.89 discount..

    • Mine is a Discount of $400.88 ….why is it even different…

  • +2

They can always send you a bill, but there's no way they could get you to pay it.

Reminds me of the time ubisoft had accidently given free games on their download service and they let us keep them all

    • Hopefully they will let us keep them. Fingers crossed..

  • I'm really surprised they haven't taken it down yet.

  • Why is Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight the only game that's at full price and not free like the rest of the other 9 games ?

    • +1

add another one of the free games, it will make them both $0

  • +2

just worked out why the bug is happening, if else no one has yet. If any one of those free games is added just on its own, its the full price for that game, but if you add another free game, it makes both $0. Its only checking for 2 games in the purchase, and if you add 2+ of the free games list, it makes all of them free

anyway, thanks for sharing, hope we get to keep them!

  • +9

It's a trap! EA are obviously giving away $300+ worth of games to lure you all away from Steam and in to Origin, don't fall for it!!!!

    • I'd take freebies all day, regardless. It's not like I have to choose between them, Steam's always there when I want it.

  • Keep getting
Payment Authorisation Failed so they maybe caught onto it

    • huh that's unlucky, cause I added sims and spore in another order just 2 minutes ago

    • Dont use a disposable email service and it works fine

      • I used a Gmail address and still got this, what email did you have to use?

        • hotmail, but I already had an origin account.

  • Ah well… they fixed it I think

  • Just tested it again right now and still worked..

  • -1

for me when I go on to the site all the games are at full price

  • I'd say they will check the referrer link to where the hits are coming from, see that the bug was exposed, and then take action on bug abusers?

    • What kind of action can they legitimately take? It's not even an exploit, you just have to add all the games to the cart.

  • Got all games for free when I added them all to cart. Thank you so much for spotting this Ace!

  • If they take the games off.. ah well :D thanks so much Ace

Hey is it just me but when I go on the site all the games are at full price

    • Use the Origin client to buy the games super_sayam

      • It doesn't work for me all the games are still at full price, would someone be kind enough to get C&C 4 for me ?:) Just make a fake account or something

  • +1

I originally put one $9.99 game in my cart with one of the free games and it worked, I would have been happy with 2 games for $10, but 10 games for $0 is even better.

  • surprised EA hasn't fixed this yet! WOW. Best bargain of 2011 ?

  • +3

This just hit egogamer, it wont be long before everybody in the known universe knows about it including whoever programmed their shopping cart system, just as they are cleaning our their desk and being escorted from the building…..

  • Thanks for the post OP! Good Christmas pressies!

  • woo hoo 'The Sims Medieval(TM) Special Edition'

  • Is it possible for someone to be kind enough to get C&C 4 for me ? :) When I log on all the 10 games are at full price

    • super_sayam they should show as full price but if you add them to your cart they become free. Is this happening to you?

      • Can we gift on origin? I suppose I could make an account for you or something.

  • I got them all, very happy. Well I'll be even happier when they are actually on my pc.. but it says I have them

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!! Best deal ever!

  • +1

This is amazing. Though I don't expect it to last, EA can just pull the licenses.

    • We will see if EA origin is better than Ubisoft. Same thing happened to ubisoft in march and they honored all the free games. Some people even got 99 free copies of some games and they still honored them.

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/41279

  • Still working

  • Damn I've already got all these games except DARKSPORE but that game hasn't got the best reviews so I don't think I will bother getting it.

  • Brilliant stuff….thanks OP

  • It looks like they just fixed it

    • Yep, I just tried to get Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 2 and it's got $30 listed as the price

Oh well, probs too good to be true

  • Now it's saying they're all $0 except cnc4

  • -4

Wonder if we'll get to keep any of the games? Idc if they take most of the games but they should at least let us keep one of the games.

    • +2

No. If they pull it, it'll be complete. They won't just give you a free random game as a consolation prize.

      • -1

So what's the chance we will get it? I guess its sort of a bad idea to pull it for EA's reputation, not that I personally care, but still.

        • +1

I really think that EA will come out ahead unfortunately.

1: All publicity is good publicity.

2: No one wants to install their small pointless origin when people already have steam (and possibly others). This will result in a jump in installation base, which is their biggest issue.

3: EA's reputation can't get much worse anyway.

        • yeah the install base is going to skyrocket.. I only installed it on a VM, will wait a week or so, if all good will install on my main PC.

whats the go with only having 30 days to download the file and having to store it somewhere?

          said that in the emails?

  • Lol their cart system is well broken, it keeps resetting and clearing my cart.

  • +2

I see it as good marketing
i have never used origin except for bf3 beta and un-installed it afterwards
now i am more likely to keep and use origin over steam espc if these games are left

    • Exactly. It's been up for 2 hours… Would it really take someone that long in EA to notice?

    • +1

Unfortunately even if the games are pulled, it will probably work well for EA and many people will have installed their software.

      • this and these games arn't new releases so nobody will be buying them. nice way to get some advertisement, that really doesn't cost them anything.

all i can hope for is that the games don't crash like bf3…

  • +8

    This is in the terms:
If the price or specification published on the applicable Website for any products or services is materially incorrect when you place an order for those products or services, we will: (i) contact you by email with the correct price or specification; and (ii) ask you to confirm whether you would like to purchase the applicable products or services at the correct price or specification. If applicable, we will also state the period for which the offer or Price remains valid. If you choose not to complete your purchase at the corrected price or product specification, we will provide you with a full refund for any amounts already paid by you.

    • Oh well. It was worth a try :)

    • I'm in no hurry to play these games, I'll wait and see how the 'cookies fall' and if they honor their sales I'll install their 'steam' client and play them. If they do not honor them I'll not install and forget the throw away account I created to download them, with no loss to me.

  • It's EA… how many people work for EA/Origin, would it really take them 2 hours to notice? For a company this size, I really doubt it.

    • +6

"Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence"

Have you ever worked for a large company?

      • +3

He was trying to hock a couple of stuffed accounts on ebay for a few bucks. I'm wondering if he's ever worked at all.

        • Ahah, I'm a teen on a budget mate, but I work.

Call me broden, I don't mind. Kinda had a feeling I was going to get negged lol.

    • +1

I know you have a vested interest in reselling 2x stuffed accounts, but speculation is just speculation. We don't know what sort of damage control is going on, or if they're discussing letting it slide for PR.

    • It might not take 2 hours to notice but it sure could take more than 2 hours to fix. What a good IT dept would have done is taken the site down when they noticed it.

      • +1

Serious question, have you ever worked with a good IT department?

        • -2

Indeed I have I am part of one :) - the best!!!

        • do you work by yourself :-) ?

  • +1

Still working here. I seriously doubt they will honour these, but it would be nice if they did.
