Logitech MX Anywhere 3 Wireless Mouse

Is this much better than the Logitech MX Anywhere 2 Wireless Mouse that was $48 last month ???

Pretty sure the only difference is the new fancy scroll wheel. I'm not seeing the need to upgrade my version 2 model anytime soon at these prices.

      • thanks

I think they also added middle click to the scroll wheel if that matters to you. I ended up just binding the button behind the scroll wheel as middle click so haven't really missed it.

Yeah new scroll wheel and USB-C.

  • Is this good for casual gaming? Or just good for office tasks

    • +1

I would only rate it's sensor and wireless latency for office tasks.

      • Thank you, I cannot find any good deal for a gaming mouse atm :(, I need it for my work as well

If you're right handed, I'd recomend something like the G604. It's wireless, can sync to 2 devices (eg USB receiver and Bluetooth), and it runs on AA batteries making it easy to ensure you always have power.

          • @jace88: XD thank you but I personally don't like the extra side buttons, as I don't use them at all…

@babylu66: Honestly if you don't intend to use extra buttons, I think you can probably go for whatever the most basic wireless gaming mouse (with low latency) is then.

Casual gaming like… Bejeweled? Or casual gaming like, I play CSGO on my Surface Pro using integrated graphics at Starbucks when I'm bored and waiting for the wife? (sounds like I'm joking with these scenarios but I am guilty of having done the latter before)

In all honesty, it would probably still be sufficient for both cases - but if you were serious about gaming and playing something requiring low latency online (not even competitive) then you might find it inadequate… but it's also relative/compared to whatever else you'd be using. I personally have used my MX Anywhere for playing CSGO online but I wasn't playing ranked and it was just for fun whilst I was on holiday and had my laptop with me.

      • I only play League of Legends… I am using Razer Abyssus 2014, since 2015 lol

I game with the 2S and it's more than fine. It does have some added latency compared to a 'gamer' mouse but it's very miniscule. I have a Logitech G700S and the Anywhere 2S and I swap between regularly for gaming (CS, Battlefield) and don't really notice a difference aside from the added macro buttons on the 700S.

  • This or wait for cyber Monday/Black Friday hmm

    • If it were me I'd wait… I don't think the MX Anywhere 3 is that great a mouse that I'd pay such a premium for it over say the Anywhere 2S.

      • The scroll wheel and middle click might be a deal breaker for me to get the 3 over the 2S however I think I’ll still wait rather than pay over double

FYI: if you have access to JB Hi-Fi commercial, $111.27

  • I currently have an Anywhere 2S which is misbehaving. I was contemplating going with Master 3. Should I go with this instead or shell the extra $35 for the Master 3. Which would be better value for money.

Size /portability isn't a factor since I use it only for WFH

    • If size is not a factor then there is no comparison with the MX master 3, better ergos, side scroll wheel and just looks better cause you know all about those aesthetics!

I have considered getting another just to leave it at the office but WFH became a thing.

  • Hi all, anyone know if I can use the Mac version with Windows Laptop?
