Are there any estate agents who don't?

An RPData valuation report is effectively a "desktop valuation" based on sale values for surrounding houses, if I am not mistaken. Not sure if this would get you anything you couldn't work out yourself by checking real estate websites. Wouldn't want to provide my details to a real estate agent for this - they never stop writing you letters wanting to sell your house.

    Not a valuation!

Only a licensed valuer can perform a valuation. It costs a lot more than $49.95.

This is an RP data report, not even an appraisal. And is basically spam - any agency will perform a free appraisal with RP Data included.

Just an RP Data report, anyone can do this if they have a spare 15 minutes.

    • +1 they use the term "valuation report" but this is deceiving.

agents can give an 'appraisal' on your house, RP Data can give you a 'report' on your house, but only a registered valuer can give you a 'valuation' on your house.

MASSIVE neg from me, $50 for a commentary on recent sales in your area is a rort. Agents will readily give this info for free.

So they do a desktop evaluation, and then try to persuade you to upgrade? Pass, this is just like any real estate agent, but the real estate agent just wants to get you to sell your house (through them). The lender wants you to borrow more money to buy something "better".

    No deal.

Oh, and if I want to know how much my home's worth I'll use Allhomes.

  • There's a buttload of ways to get this data without even talking to a real estate agent and getting the inevitable phone calls and mail drops from them.

e.g. CommBank Property Guide iPhone App

    • woah didnt know this thanks downloading now
