Which was…… last friday. Oh wait the black friday that is not on black friday. Like the queens birthday not on the queens birthday.

      • Too smart for your own good

  • wait for black friday sale guys

  • good deal for dedicated OS.

is it better to have one small one for dedicated OS and another 1tb one for games?

    • That's the setup I have

    • smaller capacity is a tad slower than the big ones

    • +2

Yeah, games don't benefit much from NVMe vs SATA SSDs so you want the cheapest TB/$ SSD for games that is not actual garbage.

First world problem, but 1TB for games feels kinda small these days with AAA games coming in close to or more than 100GB each. I have to frequently delete games just to play others and while its tolerable with NBN100, its not good for the endurance of cheap SSDs which are often TLC or QLC based.

Everyday price. Lower due to strengthening AUD over the past few weeks. Not a bargain

  • 3bit MLC, next time 4bit MLC Samsung?

    • If you want 2bit MLC (which is the true MLC) you'll have to go with the 970 Pro range. It has better quality NAND since it's actual MLC (2bit NAND), not TLC (3bit NAND). That's the reason why it costs over twice as much. If they say 3bit MLC then it's a load of crap because there's no such thing it doesn't exist, 3bit cell SSD is TLC.

To get true MLC you need the 970 Pro.

You're buying a TLC SSD here. Inferior compared to the 970 Pro true MLC (2bit cell NAND).

And there's no such thing as 4bit MLC as you referred to, it's QLC NAND aka 4bit cell NAND.

In other words the 970 EVO is nothing but a TLC SSD. At least it's not the worst of the worst called QLC.

      • Hi there, I knew it from the beginning that the 3bit MLC is TLC. However, whenever I saw that Samsung ads about 3bit MLC I just laugh, and I consider it is a misleading claim from Samsung.

        • Yeah it's totally a joke.

What next. Samsung calling QLC as 4bit MLC.

  • Also same price at PC Case Gear, but delivery is expensive.
