How is this better than lastpass which is always free for a personal account…
The difference in usability is like night and day. I was a faithful Lastpass user for years till I tried the alternatives. 1Password is quite possibly the best password manager around (obviously subjective opinion) but plenty others are better than Lastpass. I am on Bitwarden now. Dashlane is good too.
Agree. I had a problem with the lastpass chrome plugin - you would click it and it would do nothing. Tried everything to get it to work, usual add/remove etc, nothing. There was a forum thread full of people with the same problem. It went on for months.
Time to go at that point.
It was dead easy to export the data out of lastpass and import it into 1password too.
FYI the clicking bug is still happening; LastPass haven't fixed it.
I've never used 1Password, been using Dashlane for many years, prior to that Password Depot 6.
I have had a few minor issues with Daslane, sometimes not auto filling a field/text box or a delay in doing so, slow to open (might be my laptop - needs a new install). Also mistaking some text boxes and filling with wrong info.
I was a beta tester and get a few features for free for life (prior to v2 I think), main reason I'm still using it and haven't looked else where.
I'm keen to try out Bitwarden real soon, for extra security reasons.

I'm very happy with bitwarden. The mobile app on android works fine. Auto fill has been problematic maybe 2-3% of the time at the most. Overall I'm very happy with it at 10USD per year
Agree with ggop, I've used both and much prefer 1Password across all my devices and OS. You've got 6 months free to try it out so why not find out for yourself?
1Password is much more usable than Lastpass along with being more secure. However Bitwarden is free and pretty damn good so you could try that out if you want free
i use 1password for work and lastpass for personal - I prefer lastpass over 1password from a usability standpoint (not security). But the android app for lastpass is really weak, and they have not yet implemented in-keyboard autofill. iOS lastpass app works fine.
I have a lifetime dashlane premium account, 1password family free for 1 year trial, and I still go back to lastpass no matter how many times I experiment with other password manager.
