May be after the release of 6800.

  • +9

Would have jumped on this back at launch, but I've honestly decided to wait for the 6800.
I hope AMD becoming relevant again makes both companies race to outdo each other on price.

You mean that we might see SANE graphics card prices again? That’s what I’m hoping too.
      Can’t decide between 6900XT or 6800XT.
The 6900XT is obviously faster but is the price increase worth the fact that on paper it only appears to have another 8 (10%) compute units…
      ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    • will 6800 be lower than this?

  • +4

    809 and yes

  • now if it was $809 + postage

  • +7

Pity the card looks like a bucket of smashed crabs

Better off saving $190 more and getting the eVGA GeForce RTX3080 XC3 Black for $1139 the performance difference between the two is well worth it.

    • Unicorns?

    • +2

The big difference is that unlike the 3080 this is actually in stock. Also, where are you finding that card for $1139? Cheapest I've found it is $1379 at PCByte.

      • ple.com.au their wait list is massive and people who ordered on the launch night around 2 months ago are yet to receive their cards (the XC3 non ultra versions). FTW3 ULTRA are starting to get delivered.

        • +1

Fair enough. Although it still seems like a really bad idea to go for a 3080 at this stage because I have no doubt that the waitlists at all retailers are probably at 1k or more. More of a chance of getting the new AMD cards than the 3080s anytime soon.

        • ETA for my ftw3 ultra is next Tuesday.
For the base model which I also had a order placed is still no ETA.
          Probably mid Dec.? Who knows.

    • The problem is it won't be delivered till next year as EVGA are producing their ULTRA/FTW3 ULTRA versions only at the moment (more profit).

Above 1K you should also consider the offering of AMD if the primary purpose is gaming.

Aren't the 3070Ti and 3080Ti Coming soonish. A $1000-ish dollars for a mid range card (yes it's high-mid range) seems like a bad joke, I will await the comments about now these have X performance improvement, but just encase, that's the whole idea about new products a reason to upgrade/buy them.

    • 3060 ti releasing in December (2/12 apparently) . 3070ti and 3080ti have been scrapped and probably won't come out too soon given the 3070 and 3080 delays. Makes sense from a marketing point point of view

      • +1

3080Ti is now said to be now out in early January 2021 (videocardz), I'll stick to the 2070 Super till the GPU market insanity settles down.

    • This card always was suspicious being 10-15% slower than a 2080ti in many non gaming tasks and some games, and seems the only reason for that is it's artificially constrained memory bus, so they release 3070ti with more ram and unlock memory bus bandwidth to that of 3080(350mbit?) and suddenly you have the real card to take on 2080ti, and 3070 buyers are left in tears

  • Best price for a 3070 that's in stock, and better configuration than the inno3d one with this one being the 3 fan model. Although I'm not sure what to think about Galax.

    • -1

huh? both the Inno3D X3 and X4 have three main fans (the X4 has an extra fan on the side to cool the VRMs) - what are you talking about?

  • -1

This or the MSI gaming x trio for 999?

    • +1

MSI has already ruined up their reputation in this 30series competition. Just let them go.

  • AMD, YES!

  • +1

The price should be more like 750 AUD going by AUD-USD conversion + GST. This price is crazy.
