Sony 55" Full HD 3D TV (KDL55HX820) Including 5 Year Warranty $2673

46

For anyone looking for a decent Sony LCD for - in my opinion - a very decent price (though we'll see what the OzB community thinks), here's a receipt for a purchase yesterday.

Price on the floor for this TV $2,999. Got it down to $2,398… 4 year extra warranty for $275 made this lovely bit of electronics mine.

Franchise owner (not the manager on the floor) had to approve, stated he hadn't sold this for less than $2,789.

Should state that this TV is a
Full HD 3D TV with Dynamic Edge LED, Motionflow XR 400, Wi-Fi, Internet video and Skype
    instead of a LCD

Previously, a Sony 55" LCD TV was selling for $1166 which was indeed a bargain - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/56681

And with the extra warranty $2878… Sure it does not make this a bargain, just a small discount, but compare like with like at least.

  • Thanks for posting but no value here, sorry.

  • Ozbargain? Or Ozripoff?

  • Picked this tv up for $2195 + warranty and stand. Its a beautifull tv you wont regret it, if you buy it.

Except of course for MKV playback….

  • You bought it from Harvey Norman as well.
Lesson here is always do your research before walking into a shop to buy.

BWAHAHAHA COOL STORY BRO! OZSHOW OFF at best

  • Franchise owner (not the manager on the floor) had to approve, stated he hadn't sold this for less than $2,789.

That's because he has been ripping all his customers.

Loathed as I am to interrupt the mobbing… the tv and warranty were bought at lower than the advertised price… no one has (yet) offered a link to a cheaper alternative.
That said, I am not sure that this should have been posted, this is a pricematch.
Ok… back to the informative negging and taking the piss…

    • no one has (yet) offered a link to a cheaper alternative

There are 2 links in the first 3 posts^.

      • maybe he was blinded by that shiny dollah!

      • First post was a different product, second post only shows their webprice - add the warranty it is more expensive.

        So, Andy's post stands.

I don't mind that it doesn't stack up to some of your opinions of "bargain". The way i see it is that if i don't need it, it can be a cheap as it is, it'll never be a bargain for me. I felt it was a damn good price for a very fine product. If someone wants to use my experience to get an even better deal, i'm happy. If not… so be it.

        :)

      • There are 2 links in the first 3 posts^.

first one is irrelevant as it is for a different product,

second link is for a price $101 more than the op paid….

6 negs and….. as yet, still no one has offered a link to a cheaper alternative
