AEG 2000 Watt Compound Mitre Saw and Stand $549 or $521 with Power Pass @ Bunnings

50

Hey guys, not all will thing it's a bargain but I do so thought I would share. The AEG 1800w saw usually sells for $550 and they are currently running a promotion for November where you get the better 2000w saw and stand for $549 which is a good deal considering the stand alone is $249. On top of this Bunnings are giving powerpass discount on this at the moment which is a ripping deal.
It is showing up on the powerpass app, but not on the Bunnings website yet.

From AEG website.
The AEG mitre saw and mobile stand combo offers superior power and portability. Featuring a single step release for fast setup, it can be taken practically anywhere. Tool-free adjustments allow for easy extension and mounting, while the turbo dust extractor and LED light can keep your workspace clean and well-lit. In addition to its mobility, this saw is also fast and powerful – generating 2000W of power, it runs at a no load speed of 4,500rpm.

  • I read that as "With power bass" and thought is it a speaker? :-P

  • The mitre saw itself seems to be OOS in Melbourne. Is this powerpass only?

    • +1

Nah Craigieburn has 4. Apparently others will be getting them in. I went in a grabbed one today

      • I'll give the store a call tomorrow and have a look where the closest one is. I'm willing to drive down that far to get the combo since it's been OOS for a while here. Good timing since I need a workbench to build a workbench…!

I will let you know of item count once I hear back.

        • If you tell me where you are I can check stock on powerpass app

        • +2

Craigieburn and Broadmeadows, northland, Coburg, Eltham, hoppers, Pakenham, Maribyrnong, Vermont south, waurn ponds all have stock.

  • Pretty sure this is a remnant from the EOFY deal recently.

Great price for powerpass though. That wasn't there when it was on special for EOFY

  • Haven't seen much detail but it doesn't sound like this saw is better than the 1800W:
    * single bevel only, not dual
    * no reference to 70 degree mitre angles so presumably doesn't do it
    * sounds like the build quality and accuracy isn't to the same level

    Any ideas?

    • Does 50 degree left or right, I've never used more than 45 and didn't know they made them with more than 45 lol. With a 70 degree angle you be only able to cut very thin stuff and I'd uncomfortable looking at that blade spinning towards me lol.

And not sure about single bevel, but that's neither here or there. Easy as a blade change if you want to change it. Single is good for precision cuts imo.

    • I read through description and called Bunnings and its only single bevel. I also thought it was the dual bevel model initially.

I'm just starting off DIY works so treating it as a $300 mitre saw and a RRP $249 stand. It'll be good since I can bring this to my parents and do works in both houses easily. 6year warranty is good too, so if it goes bust hopefully they replace it with a newer model :P

seems to be RRP for the 2000w

powerpass gives you a 5% discount

    • It's a promotion.
