  • Any idea what brand the hard drive in this unit is?

    • You mean to say you've never heard of Verbatim? Only one of the original media manufacturers on the planet. lol. Been going longer than a shit at sea.

      • Verbatim might be famous for its optical media, but I doubt this particular drive uses MO discs inside :)

It's product page is here although I can't seem to find who manufactured the hard disk.

      • Am well aware who Verbatim is… their optical media is great and I have been using it for a long time. However just as eg. Lacie they do not manufacture hard drives themselves which means they get them from some third party manufacturer. The recent Lacie deal was good considering they were using Seagate hard disks however had they, or for that matter have Verbatim, used Maxtor or Fujitsu hard drives in this case I would not go near it. Best to ask questions before you get burned.

Would be good if someone who bought one would post back as to the make/model of the hard drive inside.

  • Looks good but do you think you could drop the ALL CAPS from the title?

    • Picky, picky. I like caps!

  • This is the second image from the site:

notice that the drive is only connected by single usb cable?

I think this is quite misleading since the product needs external power :)
