  Oh my mum used to have a poacher like this.

  All you do, if you want cafe style eggs is boil up a pot of water (you just need a saucepan, no fancy pants poacher like this) and put in a tablespoon of vinegar. Then crack open some eggs and drop em in one by one. Then use a sieve or spoon to get them out after a couple of minutes, depending if you want hard or soft. Drop them onto some folded up paper towel and you're done.

  These pots things make fake perfectly rounded poached eggs like you get at mega oldschool cafes run by elderly Greek couples.

  With dropping eggs straight into hot water, you get that more random, patterned effect in the shape of a teardrop.

  crack the egg onto a sieve to remove the watery part, stir the water in your pot so it's circulating, then drop the eggs in. Perfect poached eggs.
  No vinegar, no special single use pot.
