Not as cheap as the previous deal, but still a great price for this phone for those who missed out.

Note that it may be a bit delayed though, as I placed my order in the previous deal and it still hasn't shipped yet (though Amazon has advised that I'll be getting it by early Dec).

To each their own, but I'd rather pay the extra $7 for the UK version and also Amazon's warranty/return process.

But if you're in a rush and don't mind then that's a good deal.

      • is the UK version not International version?

        • Pretty sure it's different, mainly software-wise.

Doesn't have as many ads as the "global" model (which I believe can all be turned off anyway).

Also not sure if the global one comes with the earphones or not.

      • +2

        $353 with cart3 code @ tobydeals

    • Can combine the TOBY10 code with 1.5% shopback cashback to get it to effectively $347.71, so pretty decent

I'm pretty sure you can flash the EU rom to get rid of ads, however if the global doesn't come with earphones then I'll be sticking with my Amazon order

      • Are the earphones decent? Otherwise, don't bother. They just add to landfill

  • Looks like UK version comes with earphones !

  • Purchased on the 9th, and cancelled my order today as it still hadn't been shipped out - they also couldn't tell me when it'd ship.

    • A lot of them purchased on the 9th just started shipping today ….

      • ah well - talked to chat and it didn't sound like it was coming anytime soon. i ordered from tobydeals and it's been shipped already, so not too fussed

        • Yeah it did take a ridiculously long time, especially by Amazon standards

  • OP
    Good find Thanks

Mi max 4 would be awesome. I don't like the thin screens.

    • +1

      I don't think it'll be 16:9 like I want. Wasn't the 3 a crappy ratio?

      • the max 3 is 16x9 i have one and love it. i can't stand the tall skinny screens like my partners redmi note 9 pro.

      Here comes the same preacher!

OK. When you install an app, it has access to your contacts, your media incl photos, etc. Yes, you also get ads popping up. Hope you're not high.

      • -2

I hope you are not a CCP member

    • Why do you care exactly?
How is it different to any other service or app in fact?

      • -7

As an prospective or Australian citizen you owe a duty of care with the people you are in contact with when using CCP smart phones.

These are devices used to spy and collate Australian data without permission.

Apps you install require user acknowledgement and do not have access to the data granularity built into Xiaomi OS drivers

Is this under "Electronics - 4%" for Cashback ?

    • +2

Nope, Mobile Phones have their own category, which is 0%.

      • Thanks

  • Kinda want this to replace my mix 3..
Other than wireless charging, what an I missing out on here?

  • Hmmmm… my Nokia 7 Plus is getting tired, umming and arring if this will be a worthy replacement?

    • +1

For sure, this has a much better processor, bigger batter, more ram and storage. I'd say it's a great upgrade.

Are we expecting this one to get cheaper in a black friday sale, eyeing one off but don't want to buy a week before it could get cheaper?

    • Yes that was my thoughts too.

    • +1

Possibly, it went down to $350 in the previous deal.

Just depends if you want to risk it or not.

    • +1

If your order would not have shipped by then, you will have the opportunity to cancel the order.
Another thing to consider is the amount of orders and corresponding delays Black Friday sales may generate.

I was on the fence for too long when the last low price of 350 came along. 20$ extra for slightly better chances of getting on time and still have the option of ordering during Black Friday sales is not a high cost.

  • Any non NFC version available? As it has a 6000mah battery not 5160mah

    • That one is only available in India I think, everyone else only has the NFC version.

  • Was just reading this morning that the Note 9 range is expected to expand at the end of the month, with new 5G capable devices.

Just something to be aware of, if 5G is a desirable feature for you.

  • Is there anyway to get the "Shadow Gray" at the same price as this deal from Amazon ?

    • +1

Nah, only the blue one is on special like last time.

      • I suppose I will have to settle for the Blue one.
Sitting on the fence hoping someone else will come out with a killer price for Black Friday possibly in gray.

Has anyone received shipping confirmation / tracking details yet

    • +1

Not yet, if the previous deal is anything to go by it'll take around 2 weeks to actually despatch, and you should receive it within another 5 days or so.

      • Keep us updated, I bought one on Cyber Monday and my ETA of delivery is 12 May 2021 ….

        • +2

My order from 21 Nov shipped last night, Amazon ended up charging me twice though, had to contact customer service for clarification and resolution. Refund expected in 4-5 days.

          • @wordsmith: Oh nice, I ordered on the 23rd so hopefully it'll get despatched in a couple of days.

My previous order from the other deal got damaged in transit so I had to reorder and now wait another week or two to despatch.

            • +1

@mangobango: Oh, that's terrible, did Amazon compensate in any way?

              • +1

@wordsmith: Yeah they did, the price went up since my original order so they refunded me the difference which was nice.

But oh well, not in a huge rush for the phone anyway, just a bit annoying waiting all that time to despatch and then that happens haha.

        • +1

Update, shipped a bit earlier on today.

ETA says 22/12, but if the last deal is anything to go by, should be receiving it this week (shipped via DHL).

          • +2

@mangobango: Fingers crossed, hope the package arrives well.
Mine has arrived in Sydney, expecting delivery on Monday now.

            • +1

@wordsmith: Thanks! Great to hear yours is already in Sydney, hope you enjoy your new phone!

              • +1

@mangobango: I got a notification I shouldn't be expecting mine before Christmas, still awaiting estimated delivery date:(

Our of curiosity did you get an estimated delivery date before you received shipping confirmation and tracking details?

                • +1

                  @liquornoodlescabbage: Yikes, that's unlucky :(

I didn't get an estimated date before it shipped, only what was on the Amazon product page at the time.

When did you order yours? If it ends up getting shipped by DHL then should arrive very quick (hopefully before Christmas!)

                  • +1

@mangobango: Nov 27, if they are getting shipped then I do have hope. I thought about buying through Kogan but the 2 year warranty on this one is whats kept me waiting.

                    • +1

@liquornoodlescabbage: Oh I ordered mine on the 23rd, so your one should be due soon :)

You should most likely get it before Christmas, fingers crossed!

And yep I was thinking about that too, or another grey import site to save a few bucks/get here quicker, but only need to wait an extra week or two for Amazon's to get the great warranty, worth the wait 👍

Well, it seems DHL has Sunday deliveries, mine says out for delivery, expected late in the afternoon though,so let's see how that goes.

    • How long did your purchases stay "pending" on your CC statement for? Mine had been "pending" since 30 Nov 🙄

Other merchants claim the transaction usually within 1-2 days …

      • +1

I think they charge when they ship.
Mine was a mix of gift cards + debit card transaction, all the amount was deducted as soon as I placed the order.

Somehow, on 30th Nov (when my order was shipped), they charged the entire amount to my card again, even as the other payment had gone through.

There is perhaps a lag of 9-10 days between order date and shipping, and post shipping it takes about 5-6 days to be here.
