Lenovo Gaming 3 (15) - AMD Ryzen 5-4600H 16GB RAM 256SSD+1TB HD blows this out the water.

    • Would be good if it was 17"

      • But Dell one is 17”

        • I'm talking about the Lenovo

    • Link?
      What the GPU?

    • How though? The screen on Lenovo is not that great and the graphics card is better in this. How does the Lenovo blow it out of the water? Just curious as I'm considering both for a purchase.

You must be kidding over here dude. GTX1650 vs. RTX2060, 256SSD vs. 1000 M.2, Ryzen 5 vs. i7. Yea, you must be right!

    Wasn’t the 2070 $100 more?

    • But won’t get 1 TB as SSD

      • now that another 512gb is $70 here…

    • howd you get it to only 100 more?
been sitting on the fence for the 2070 at $2100, but if its down to $1850 id pull the trigger

Code: PPBIS20 brings it down to $1888.80 Delivered - $130 more

        • thank you kind sir!
i was doing it through the dell website instead of ebay store. silly me

        • which option is better the RTX 2060 6GB (1TB SSD) for 1750 or RTX 2070 8gb (512MB SSD) for 1888?

I guess its more like better GPU OR more memory which is ~$140AUD cheaper

          • +3

@Avalanche: the 2070 because you can upgrade the ssd later. If you go for the other laptop you can't upgrade the 2060

Sharing my experience with this laptop RTX 2060 version: bought it on previous 20% off deal, received it like 6 days ago.
Like everybody else, I hold my breath to see if there's any problem overheating. But so far so good, Dell does fix it somehow. BIOS version is 1.3, power mode is Balanced, factory settings, I played ABZU, Hitman and Darksiders on Xiaomi 34inch screen, Ultra setting at 3440x1440p, around 30min per session (can't play too long bc of headache), games look smooth, no sudden framerate drops or anything, CPU temp hovers between 65-85deg C, GPU 55-70deg C.
If playing in power mode Performance then CPU goes up to 80-95, GPU 60-75deg C, The back metal part can get a bit hot, so balanced mode is perfect for me. The screen needs to be calibrated to get rid of yellowish tint, after calibrated it looks gorgeous, colors actually are more punchy than my new Xiaomi 34'.
About myself: casual gamers, use the laptop for graphic design and web dev works so this one fit me quite well. Happy so far.

    • Also, installing 3 games with Adobe Cloud took out 300GB on the SSD already, so if you want to keep many games then 1TB SSD is a plus point.

    • Why did you buy this laptop instead of a desktop? Isn't this laptop too heavy to carry around?

      Thanks.

      • I need the 17 screen to do coding works, bigger is always better when you look at tiny text everyday. Also I dont want to own both laptop and desktop, a big but still carry-able laptop can replace both in some ways

    • How did you calibrated to get rid of yellowish tint?

      • Well manually through color calibration feature in window10. I put this and Xiaomi screen and an Ipad side by side and try to replicate the colors of the other 2 screens. I did download some color profiles online but am not satisfied with them

    • Forgot to mention that I change the power mode and thermal mode to Balanced in Alienware command center, it works bringing down the heat in my case

  • Dell G7 RTX 2070 owner here, 100c after 20-30 minutes of gaming, great laptop for normal stuff, runs too hot for my liking playing games.

I'm returning my G7 and have purchased a Legion 5Pi, and it's Max temp is 80c.

Had mine serviced and reapplied new thermal paste and still runs super hot.

Legion is awesome, paid under $2200.

That's no good for Dell. Disappointing to have a 2070 and can only game for 20-30 minutes before getting throttled

      • Mine didnt even last 5 minutes before it would hardcore throttle down to unplayable ~10 fps
I returned mine in the end

  • Precision 5540 for $2199 not too bad, has the 97Wh battery and 32GB RAM but sadly only the T1000 GPU.
