[Presale] Xiaomi Dreame D9 DLS Robot Vacuum Cleaner $399 + Shipping (Free for Kogan First) @ Kogan

284

Cheapest I have seen so far. Bought it from Gearbite for 579 with the recent deal and really happy with the performance.

Description from previous deal:
The Dreame D9 is mostly similar to the F9 size, 35cm x 35cm x10cm. This is purposely designed to house the LiDAR navigation system which means greater accuracy in navigation; unlocking advance map memory and room recognition functionality such as multi-rooms and selected area cleaning, virtual walls, vaccum no-go zones and mop no-go zones.

Dreame D9 will have Multi-maps ( upto to 3 maps) support via firmware update. This will allow Dreame D9 to map and operate on multiple levels within the same house.

Other key hardware features of the Dreame D9 includes:

4 levels of suction mode with up to 3,000Pa of suction power.

5,200mAh battery for up to 2.5hours of operation time; and extended further when combined with “Smart Top-up” function. This feature enables the Dreame D9 to top-up for more power during a cleaning session; and continue the clean when the appropriate level of battery is reached.

A 570ml dustbin and a 270ml smart electric water tank with adjustable water level for more precise mopping.

Removable microfiber roller brush can easily be disassembled for easy access to remove tangled hairs and general maintenance.

  • this looks very similar and same software as Roborock S6. If its basically same as S6 then great deal as I am very happy with my S6 which I paid $750 for 9 months ago.

  • Since its the international version, does that mean we need an adapter for the AC plug?

    • Yeah I believe so!

  • Hoping Gearbite will match this for Black Friday.

    • And may be send a gift voucher as well to those who bought last week lol

      • That'd be nice.
Just received my unit from GB yesterday… and don't particularly want to go through the hassle of returning for refund. Let's see what Gearbite CS say!

  • +2

Great price, bought through the GB special on first release.

Suction is great, location and map orientation is terrible and it frequently can't locate itself of loses its way.

Hopefully a firmware upgrade will rectify the issue.

    • Yes same here, having to reset the map weekly. Overlapping maps, etc
Cleans well though. 90 minutes on full suction is pretty good.

      • Lol I have these exact problems with my s50

  • Solid Price! Just signed up for first only to find out the whole of the NT is not eligible for free shipping. Spewing…

… Pulled the trigger anyway. $435 delivered still is cheap (historically…after a month lol). See if I kick myself in a few weeks/months

    This or S5 Max?

  • Damn ! I got the S5 Max for $719. I am regretting now

  • +1

how does warranty work with this given this is an international version? Do you have to send it off to Kogan at your expense for repair / troubleshooting?

    • Someone more experienced might be able to comment! But on paper yeah it looks like Kogan will honour the warranty (My perception of Kogan is really bad, so I would treat this as no warranty. As i said perception, some other people who have succesfully got Kogan to honour the warranties may say differently)

  • is this the same device with Gearbites which is $579? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/574806?page=2#comment-9665…

    • +2

Yeah I checked 5 times - looks identical. Hopefully some one from Gearbest can comment if there is any difference.

      • Gearbite mentions Au version … does that makes any difference apart from plug ?

  • Ooh big price drop if so

  • Ordered, though I couldn't figure out what DLS is. Nothing from a Google search for must include term DLS with D9.

  • +1

Tried finding out. Dynamic load sensor on dysons but not for Xiaomi or dreame…

  • +1
    • So it really looks like this one and what Gearbite offers is the same model right?
I wonder if Gearbite will price match this. Thats a big price difference.

  • Just noticing the last several comments about the issues with maps and navigation on this model. Though, there does seem to be a firmware update coming soon to fix the problems. Hopefully.

Gearbite says Kogan one can't use app in Australia. Anyone can confirm this comment in above link ? or is it just to confuse customers ?

    • +1

Kogan replied to my query yesterday and this was their reply:

"After looking into this for you I can confirm that this robot vacuum is an international version that is verified as working in Australia.

Furthermore, I can confirm that this will come with an Australian compliant power source.

Xiaomi products can be controlled via the Mi Home app, which is free to download on iOS and Android devices.

I hope that helps, and if there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know."

      • I am just wondering why so many people are asking gearbite to price match rather than buying from Kogan ? Does gearbite has better warranty claims, after sales services etc ? I have no experience with both.

        • +3

          Yes to all your questions.

        • +1

Because one is Australian stock and the other is grey import, so better warranty and you are protected with ACL. But I don't think gearbite will pricematch as the price difference is quite steep.

          • @didaswiwaw: Supposedly anything including International Stock or international companies is bound by ACL. But I don't think any consumers have yet to bring their lawyers to test this law in the courts and how enforceable it is.

        • +1

for almost $200 more, Ill take my changes with Kogan !

          • +1

@mrsina1: Agreed. I've done this too as gearbite ain't biting on the price match

  • All set to buy .. just wondering if Extended Care of $49 for 3 Months is any worth it ? I have no experience with Kogan before. Thanks.

  • So i got everything ready, GC's, Commbank Reward activated, Herald Sun $20 voucher, $5 referral reward …. sent email to Kogan to deactivate $5 so that i can apply $20 instead to purchase (both cant be used in conjunction) … got email after 24hours explaining how to use credit, with issue still there …. and guess what … DREAME D9 is SOLD OUT … regretting my decision to go for Kogan.

  • Goddamit missed out! Anyone see any other deals for the D9 going?

    • Back in stock

  • Back in Stock! But seems the shipping date is Feb 12!?

  • Would anyone have a screenshot of the original deal?

  • +1

Has anybody who ordered on the original deal ("Leaves warehouse Dec 1") received dispatch notification?

    • Same here ordered on the original deal & no dispatch notification. Says "We're running slightly behind but you can expect to hear from us soon!" in account. Not happy.

      • Just heard from them that they're now suggesting early-Feb dispatch. But they've managed to take payment, so that's all good…

        • I wrote to Kogan and this is the reply I got. But nothing has changed in the account, still showing 'slightly behind'.

Mines been pushed out to Feb. I just received a email about it plus a $20 voucher to use

Two months wait after baited for delivery for 1/12/20 is quite unacceptable.

  • Mines been pushed to Feb as well. (profanity) bullshit.

  • Same delay. Not happy but I guess this means we get the software bug fixed version.

And if we find a better deal in the meantime we can always cancel this one.

So is it 1st Feb or 12th Feb?

  • I would cancel this now with the delay, but I bought giftcards so it'd just be refunded to those. What a pain.

  • My purchase experience on Kogan has been crap. Looking at product review.com.au, I bet many of the 5 star reviews are fake.

    • Ive bought probably about 5 items this last month and also bought a few things a year ago.

I cancelled an order recently which I paid for using a gift card and it said any credits to accounts would take a day or two. It was me cancelling the dreame vacuum order and I bought the roborock instead using my credit card as it was time sensitive. I thought that's it, I'm gonna have a credit to the account and they're gonna want me to spend it on their store.

Contacted customer care and they refunded the difference to my credit card instead after and I was quite happy with their service.

Also bought a phone from them previously and had to do a warranty claim and they handled that very well too

      • So you reckon I could cancel my order (purchased on gift card) and get the refund on my credit card?

        • Worked for me but ymmv

  • I also purchased this from Kogan, to be met with zero communication of the delays. When I wrote to them, they were still advertising with a banner that it would be delivered by Christmas. Left Kogan a poor review.
