    ADSL…. Back to the Future

    • Internet infrastructure is still ancient in many parts of Australia. 2 streets away from me are still on adsl - nbn is still only 'planned'.

      • Yeah it's a pretty (profanity) situation. Im on FTTN but 1km from the node, I get 35meg barely…. its a joke. Then you get emails from NBN do you want to upgrade your speed…. HOW!!!!

ADSL, 802.11n …….this router was released at June 2013…..

Perfect mix of technologies for our equally outdated internet infrastructure.

    • 2.4ghz only wifi 4 product, won't even be compatible with my wifi 5 5ghz network. Pity

This modem should be on eBay $0.50 deals.

  • What is a good sub$200 router these days ?
    I'm using Telstra a TG799 as my modem/router and another TG799 and WNDR3800 as LAN'd hotspots.

I've just ordered tp-link archer vr600v router for $160. I went for it because of price and reviews seem good. Broadcom chip in it is supposed to be good if your connection isn't the best, plus it's wifi is supposed to be good.

      • Awesome, thanks.

      • Might do a price beat at OW :-)

        • Mine was from wireless1_eshop on ebay if you need a reference. It's the 'v2' model (vr600v v2). I'm not sure if they're all v2 now, or some are still selling v1 versions. v2 has a few extra things in the software - better vpn support I think and a few other things.

  • NOT reccomended for OpenWRT
