I dont know anything about photography but wanted to start as a hobby. My budget was $1k but after looking at reviews for X-t30 i was keen on it and was waiting for some bargains. Yes, X-S10 seems better but is well out of the budget. May be i should wait for the X-S10 when its on a deal. Cheers.

Let me know if you want me to search for good deals on the lens. 18-55mm is available for $500 somewhere. If you are in budget, you can get a 15-45 used, many people don't use it and may put it on sale without using it much.
Damn I should've waited a bit longer! I ended up getting this for ~$2300 a few months ago which was objectively a good deal at the time. That said, even with the lockdown it's been so fun to use.
If you're shopping around for a new camera, the X-T4 won't disappoint.

You can try JB Hi-Fi but for them these prices would look so low that they may find reasons not to price match. But I'm sure there would be many camera selling stores in Melbourne that would be happy to price match. Visit below for the list of authorised dealers.
