    It can be bought for $212.50 at JB HIFI using gift cards from Coles or $237 delivered from Amazon. Both will be easier to deal with for warranty if needed.

      You can potentially use Kogan to get it cheaper, with the plus rewards $20 (-$4 spend) and commbanks targeted $30 cashback. Maybe an extra $6 from gift cards if the CommBank guys let you split pay to meet the $100 requirement and use a Suncorp $100 gift card. (I called last night to ask but they're open 9-5)

      But of course you may want to use that for something else on Kogan, in which case you'd get the a52 from JB.

        You'll probably find that Officeworks and Jb will drop it to match Kogan and Amazon.
        When I checked Amazon before it wasnt $237 however it appears to be dropped now

    Would this be any kind of upgrade over my now old, slow, and cracked Samsung S8?

    I love a DPI > 500 but I think I could adjust to lower DPI pretty quickly.

          Probably wouldn't call it an upgrade, but this phone will be good enough to replace your cracked S8.
          You will not get waterproofing, but the battery will last more than 1 day.
          The screen is not as good as AMOLED, but good enough.
