Ryzen 7 3700X | RTX 3070 Gaming PC [B450 Aorus/16GB 3200/650B]: $1688 + Delivery @ TechFast

2481
3700X-3070-BFCM

This is our big one for BF/CM. AMD have supported us for a once off R7-3700X at R5-3600 price for this deal and Galax and Gigabyte have chipped in to bring us $200 under the PCPP comparison. Feel like it stacks up pretty well price-wise against the Dell 3070 system, with plenty of upgrade options available as always.

Ryzen 7 3700X / RTX 3070 8GB Gaming PC: $1688 after 3700X-3070-BFCM

  • Ryzen 7 3700X 8c/16t processor
  • Galax SG MSI Ventus 2X RTX 3070 8GB GPU (Gigabyte Eagle and Ventus upgrade available) - updated 28/11)
  • Gigabyte B450M Aorus Elite motherboard (lots of upgrades including MSI Pro-VDH WiFi and X570 Aorus Elite WiFi). If the Giga B450M sells out (loads available) the Biostar B550 is also the same price.
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAM (brand/model may vary)
  • 240GB 2.5" SSD (for those bringing own storage, or upgrades available; brand/model may vary)
  • Gigabyte P650B 650W 80 Plus Bronze PSU (750 Gold and 850 Gold available)
  • Lance-V RGB 4 Fan ATX case - details/specs

The below cover entry level, budget, sub-$1000, 1440P and high tier deals. If you have any other BFCM spec requests let me know and I'll see what we can do; RTX 3080, RX 6000 series and Zen 3 chips deals are not possible. RTX 2070/S and 2080/S are end of life too.

Other BFCM deals

Cheers
Luke

    • Does your ram say 16gb or 8gb in the setting page?

  • Ordered 27th of November 5:30PM and received nothing.

Emailed today asked for an update and pretty much the response was that they were unable to give an ETA due covid impact on courier companies and stock issues etc

    :(

    • Sorry to hear. I just received an update mine is shipped. Hope you get an update soon!

  • Just got my shipping notification today. Ordered on the 26th, assembled with a 550m mobo.

  • Ordered 5:36pm on Nov 27th and no fulfillment of my order yet.

Also received standard email response notifying of courier delays (for Techfast, not us) - fair enough to be honest as I've had delays with couriers all round for my other BF purchases lately.

Probably not gonna get my CPU before Christmas now :(

  • Anyone tried cyberpunk yet on this deal? How is your performance with it?

Feel bad for those that are still waiting. Hope you all get yours soon!

    • I am interested in this too

  • +1

I ordered on the 30th any updates for people who ordered around then still waiting for dispatch update

    • ordered on the 28th still no email on dispatch, that was on a saturday though so we're probably in the same boat

      • Hey did u guys hear back from them? Ordered on the 29th, didn’t head anything yet.

        • ordered 27th and still nothing, so yea

  • +1

    Nooo received this today:

'Thanks for checking in - we're making excellent progress through a very large number of orders received during the BFCM and are expecting to ship your system next week'

I'm in Sydney and there aren't too many business days next week. There goes my Chrissy present :(

    • rip i was hoping to get it by nextweek. still excited though

    • Sad times!! When abouts did you order?

      • 6pm on the 28th of November. It'll be my first gaming PC so pretty excited. Said goodbye to PlayStation when I couldn't buy the PS5

  • +1

Damnnn this case is noisy as all hell haha.

    • RIP
knew I should if upgraded the case..

      • +1

Yeah it was $39 and my PC is near silent.

  • It says that the Lance-V case has 2x internal 2.5 inch and 3x internal 3.5 inch drive bays.
I will be damned but i cannot understand how to mount my 2 harddisk and one SSD from my old computer.
The SSD they have used seems to be covering most of it and its vertically mounted and not horizontal and its not slot bays as i understand it. My old pc has "bays".

    • +1

Allright i found it on the other side after i removed the steel cover.None of the 3 fans are connected to the motherboard fan headers. All are connected directly to the power supply and running at full speed.Dont know if they are capable of variable speed or not.
Will try connecting the fans to the motherboard. Will need some adapters.

Looks like i might need to to get new fans and do some fiddling.

  • Received mine today at around 8pm. AusPost should be working on the weekend so hopefully that will help with the delivery times for those who are still waiting.

My main concern from the build is the sag from the 3070, so will probably install that Galax support bracket. But overall, I'm pretty happy with it so far! Thanks techfast!

    • Would love some info on how to insta the anti sag bracket too

      • Same.

      • I was bit lost on it as well until I found this image here on their website.

The way I installed was to have the shorter screws connect the two acrylic pieces together and the longer screws secure the main support to the case with the nuts. Not sure if that's the right way since their are no instructions anywhere. But it seems to be holding up.

Also, after a inspecting the build a bit more I just want to mention the cable management behind the board could be a bit better. I guess they were in mad rush to get these out. But still very happy with it!

        • Mine is just a long stick which rests way under the GPU. I think mine is just an RGB plate rather than actual anti sag.

          • @anarky: There should be a smaller/shorter plastic piece that came in your motherboard box like this

        • Thanks for this, didn't even see the other piece👍🏽

          • @niren1706: No worries, good luck! I found it easier to install the smaller piece first onto the longer piece but not with the screws tighten, make it loose enough so you can adjust the height. After securing the longer bracket onto the case, adjust the smaller piece height and then tighten the screws.
Also, make sure the small plastic piece is in a place that doesn't touch the GPU fans!

As for the RGB connection, I don't know where to plug this in the board? I found an RGB connection next the CPU which sort of works but I can't seem to sync it?

            • @MrDrew: I don't have the smaller rectangular piece, I've emailed techfast to see if they have spares

              • @niren1706: I am the same, can't find that smaller plastic piece. Are they sending yours? might have to ask techfast.

  • So I got my parts yesterday assembled everything and the performance is amazing. Just one thing that's bothering me. The front fans are spinning but I can't turn on the LEDs. What I found strange too is that only the top fan has a signal wire going up to the led switch…how are the other 2 supposed to get the signal. Anyways, at the moment none of the supposed "RGB" fans have light. Anybody else having that problem?

    • I received my one today and only come with 2 fan and none of them able to turn on the RGB light as well. Will write a email to the support.

    • Did you manage to get the RGB fans to light up? I have the same problem as you and contacted the support. They said I am missing an RGB Molex connector and they will be sending one out to me.

  • +3

Anyone still have not received a notification??? They told me 18th at latest…….. @luketestfast

    • Same here. Ordered on the 27th. :/

    • Same. Ordered 27th 2pm

      • same here. ordered on the 30th though, not sure if I should shoot them an email

    • +1

      Same, ordered 27th 5:30PM

Emailed them for an update on the 17th and pretty much got standard response with no clear answer on an ETA.

      Hoping atleast before christmas!!

      • Have you gotten a shipping notification yet?

        • +1

Nope. What's more annoying is that I opted for pick up (based in SA) so I thought that would've allowed me to get it sooner…

I sent an email yesterday asking them to upgrade the case if it wasn't built yet and they said no problems so I guess as of yesterday my order hasn't even started!!

  • Ordered on 27th, they tried to deliver to me today in Brisbane but I missed it (didn't know they delivered on Saturday) so now I have to wait until Monday morning, so annoyed at myself.

  • Received my computer yesterday after work. My computer wasn’t being recognised by my monitor when I turned it on for the first time today and I had a mini freak out, but after watching a couple YouTube videos, I got signal to the monitor. The issue was the GPU (Galax) wasn’t seated properly into the mobo

Now to do some mindfulness to get my heart rate back down…

  • +1

This would have to be the worst case ever. I'm trying to add an extra HDD and I'm pretty sure I basically need to pull the whole PC apart in order to get it in (PSU, front fans, front of case).

    Horrible design.

    • +1

Yeah my ancient barebones cheap ass PC from 2013 was easier to add HDD and SSD to.
I also struggled like hell and finally managed.
Now it has 2 SSD and 2 HDD in it.

Now i need to do something about the fan noise. Its irritating me like hell.

      • I need to add SSD or HDD because the standard 240GB isn't going to be enough.
I couldn't find an easy fix.
Any suggestions? would it be easier with M2 NVME or HDD or SSD?

    • Yeah I learnt from my first Techfast system to always upgrade their cases.

  • System arrived yesterday (Sunday 20th), very happy with it.
To me the system isn't loud at all
Runs Cyberpunk just fine on High (haven't tried Ultra), very smooth
    very smooth and runs well

    • +1

It's also smooth on ULTRA even on 1440p :)

  • Mine arrived on Friday, 18th as anticipated but didn't open till Saturday. It looks solid and runs nicely. Didn't notice a loud fan noise issue. I haven't tested it with any games as yet because I am still waiting on my 144hz monitor.

I was wondering if anyone managed to install additional storage without issues. This is my first gaming PC and I haven't played around opening the PC for the last 16 years. Any guides, on how can I do it without much hassle, would be good.

    • +1

You can put up to 2 SSD on one side and 3 HDD on the other side of the Lance-V case. But you have to struggle to do it.

  • +1

Ordered on 30/11, still have not received my system despite it being 20 business days after my order. I would like to receive the system before Christmas, but I’m not too sure when Techfast closes their doors for the break. Best of luck to everybody in the same boat.

  • +4

Coming to the grim realization this is not coming before Christmas, such is life - still a great deal.

    • +3

I feel ya. It's just frustrating when they say a date and they don't tell you there is a delay. They sent me this:
'As we are indeed operating on a 14 business day turn around, keeping in mind we don't work weekends your 14th business day is the 18th of December. You should expect your system on or before that date.'
It's the 22nd and I still haven't received a tracking number. Totally understand that the BFS must have been hectic. Just wish they would update us to let us know if the delay. It's a good system so it will be worth the wait

      • +2

I’m in the same boat, they said the exact same response and patiently waited until the 18th. I can deal with waiting a bit longer but it would have been nice to know it wasn’t coming before Christmas.

  • +1

For those who haven't gotten their build yet (like me), you can still request upgrades from the list below:

240GB SSD to 480GB or 1TB (either SATA SSD or NVME m.2 SSD) or add an additional SSD
    Add a 1TB or 2TB HDD $89/$139
    120mm or 240mm liquid cooler $89/$139
Motherboard upgrade to a X570 Aorus Elite WiFi motherboard $239
PSU upgrade to either 750W or 850W $79/$109
RAM upgrade to 32GB RAM $99
Case upgrade to MSI Mag Forge 100R $39

Thanks to everyone who said the standard case is supposedly noisy and difficult to install SSD/HDDs in. I've requested the case upgrade in the meanwhile.

    • +1

Thats a great idea! I have requested as well…!

    • Ive also requested a case upgrade, thanks for the heads up!

    • Note that there will be a $40 disassembling fee if it is already assembled :/

      • At least this means it will be shipped soon!

  • +7

Sorry to all those whose hopes are about to be squashed but I contacted support on yesterday morning and was surprised to find out that the reason orders are being delayed is due their being no stock available. Despite asking multiple times they are still unwilling to give me a rough ETA on when stock will come in, so a suspect it won't be in for quite some time.

This is incredibly infuriating given the system was advertised as being in stock at the time, and would be considered a misrepresentation under contract law.

For reference I order on the 29th.

    • +1

Just to clarify, all systems are built to order and it states this both on our website and order confirmation email. 14 business days is an estimate, and again both the website and email state these are estimates and times may extend beyond this in peak periods and those affected by COVID delays, both of which are occurring at the moment. We're working as fast as we can and are not here to hold onto anyone's money if they're not prepared to wait for completion, so if you would like to cancel your order you may do so via request to [email protected] with no restocking fee applied. As always my recommendation would be to wait if you can as there is not a better price to be had anywhere and you would be leaving a position towards the front of the queue having ordered at that date.

      • +3

Whether the system is built to order or not is irrelevant to my original comment.

'In stock' colloquially means you have the stock 'in hand'. The fact you don't have stock available, and have to wait on your suppliers to supply you stock, misrepresents your capacity to fulfill your end of our contractual agreement (as obvious by the fact I, and many others are yet to receive our orders).

Your inclusion on your website stating orders may be delayed past 14 business days fails to limit your liability in this case, as the reason for the delay is not COVID or period related, but due to your failure to secure adequate stock (despite advertising it was already 'in hand') prior to sale.

Disregarding a plethora of common law actions available, you have actually breached s 18 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), and would be ordered to pay any damages a claimant has suffered (missed purchase opportunities, loan fees etc). People who needed the system by a certain date could even purchase a comparable system from a third party and claim the difference in price as a loss.

It is quite ridiculous that 26 days after parting with my money, I am now finding out you don't even have stock in yet. Poor form.

  • +1

    Got mine on Sunday 20/12

Unwrapped it about an hour ago. Plugged in the power and HDMI. No display on screen. F%#*in infuriating to say the least. Have contacted support. Same hdmi cable in laptop works.

Also one of the RGB fans is missing from the front.

Not a great experience up until this point.

    Luke can you respond?

    • Re no display. I think another person (scroll to a few posts above) had a similar problem and it was due to the GPU not seated properly in it's slot. Perhaps try troubleshooting to see if re-seating it will resolve your problem. Just a thought…

      • I wonder if these seating issue is due to the hefty nature of these bigger cards plus any bumps during postage.

    • +2

This needs to be routed via our support channels please, so it can be handled appropriately by our support team via [email protected], rather than a comment thread where the team cannot see it. If it is DOA it will receive priority so please put DOA System in the email header so we can action appropriately. Thanks.

  • +1

I am not that tech savvy with opening up computers and why should I take the risk of messing around inside, the system should work out of the box, that’s what I paid for.

  • +1

I didn't order till 30/11. Would like to know if I'm just in the queue and it's getting closer by the day, or if the system is delayed because Techfast is waiting on parts and the ETA is really up in the air. I'm getting some grief already about not having a christmas present for a child this Friday.

  • +4

For those of you waiting, I contacted support today re: potential upgrading my case. Figured no harm in case the work hadn't started yet. Turns out my unit was in testing so no want/need for me to change now.

Just providing this update in case people are wondering for themselves if they are still powering through - the answer is yes. For what its worth, I placed my order at ~10pm on the 27th.

    • +1

Thank you. Little messages like this give me hope :)

      • +3

Figured there would be atleast 1 other person in the same boat. Feel free to reach out via their phone or email for an update.
From what I can tell from my interactions with Techfast, they are doing their best. They know people are waiting.

Can see Luke is now back in this thread. May be worth pro-actively reaching out to people who havent had their orders fulfilled yet and giving them some update (its in the queue, delayed by supply chain, in testing).

    • Thanks for the update! I also ordered on the 27th at 5:30PM so I hope I'm at testing stage as well :D

  • +1

Ordered 28-Nov. Received dispatch notification earlier this afternoon. For my rig, there was a delay in getting one component (CPU) that caused a delay beyond the estimated 14 days. I was given an option of a full refund but I chose to wait.

  • Will be worth the wait, a great system.

  • +2

This is my list of issues so far, not all techfast related but a good portion are.

    • Missing case fan & RGB controls.

    • Dented case (auspost im assuming)

    • case Fans hooked up to psu and not motherboard so run at 100% all the time.

    • Garbage tier case (seriously its rubbish and doesn't come close to other better budget options - if you haven't already i would upgrade the case or get a refund).

    • cable management at the rear is poor, there was a large 'bulge' and the side panel of my pc is warped due to cables just being crammed in and panel being forced on.

    • some missing case screws, not supplied in additional parts.

    • really annoying to add additional storage yourself.

    • clip on galax fan won't fit due to ram being in the way on matx board. (Not a techfast issue).

Seems hard to recommend techfast to anybody that isn't at least a bit of a DIYer themselves as you'll be needing to open the case and fix things yourself after receiving it. Becomes less of a 'deal'the more time you have to spend chasing them up about issues, and fixing things yourself.

    • You said that the case Fans hooked up to psu and not motherboard. Is that an easy fix I can do when I receive mine?

      • Yes

    • Please email [email protected] if you would like assistance with that case dent, certainly a transit thing and covered under warranty.
The front fans are powered by molex so the speed is not variable, but this is equivalent to 3-pin fans used by MSI and DeepCool in equivalent spec cases.

      • So with the fans, can you control the speed with a fan controller?

        • I think you would need to install after market fans to control their speed. I'm not sure if there are any controllers that control speed of molex fans, I haven't seen any.

  • Just received my PC. Yes the RGB fans don't work at the moment, but received a letter from techfast explaining they will send the final fan out (No issues from me).

I noticed graphics drivers weren't installing properly, leading to a flickering of the monitor with the 3070.

If you have this, go into your bio and switch the PCI lanes to Gen3. Should fix it.

  • I received my PC the other and had the chance to play around with it for a while. I must say, I am pretty happy with the purchase at this moment.
I installed the NVMe drive I bought earlier and cloned the SSD disk to this drive and changed the BIOS settings to boot from the NVMe drive. I also installed the GPU sag bracket, and here is how it looks at this moment:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lECs6NBmEhxhTsOuTb13qcwY1Hh…

I am also planning to add another Samsung SSD drive later but from the looks of it, that might be a little tricky. There isn't that much space to maneuver inside the case but let's see how that goes. I also used the Windows 10 Assessment Tool to measure the system performance and here are the results:

    CPUScore : 9.3
    D3DScore : 9.9
    DiskScore : 9.1
    GraphicsScore : 9.4
    MemoryScore : 9.3
    TimeTaken : MostRecentAssessment
    WinSATAssessmentState : 1
    WinSPRLevel : 9.1

    • Hi I’m planning to do the same thing, how did u clone and what did u use to clone the ssd onto the nvme?

      • +1

        Hi,
I used a program called "Macrium Reflect" to the disk cloning.
It is a clean and free program and I would surely recommend it.

        • thanks, I also bought a NVMW m2 for the same reason.

is this the standard case? are you ok with it?

          • +2

            @korvhund23: Hello,
Yes this is the standard case.

There are certainly better cases out there, but for the price I paid for the whole package, I really think this brings a lot of value. The case has a nice mesh design so there is a lot of airflow going through it. However, I cannot install the 4th fan on the GPU at the top, because the RAM sticks do not allow that space. This is related to the motherboard, though. I also installed the extra SSD; but I must admit it wasn't very easy to push the cables in the tight space behind the case, but finally made it happen.

If I had to change one thing with the design, I would change the motherboard and replace the Gigabyte B450M with the MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX. In the future, that would be my first upgrade on this computer.

But like I said, I am happy with what I got with the money I spent. there is no limit to what you can spend but the important thing is to look for the value. I believe we got good value with this product.

            • @bhdr: Hey

Are you getting a buzzing/rattling noise when the PC is under load?

I'm not sure where it's even coming from?

  • +1

Thanks to everyone who expressed issues with the standard case. I enquired on Monday if my case could be upgraded and they accepted the addition. Not sure how much longer I will need to wait though, but I didn't ask.

  • Anyone who ordered on the 27th still waiting for there PC? :/

    • Yup :(

    • Also ordered on 27th, 5:36pm.

However, when I upgraded my case and SSD, sales gave me a heads up that my build parts were soon to be picked and assembled.

I now don't mind the wait because of everyone's comments on the case.

      • Yeah I also upgraded the case after seeing all the comments. What day did they tell you that btw? I emailed about the case on Monday but wasnt told anything about mine being picked next.

        • They told me yesterday.

        • I emailed on Monday and was told that I could change the case and it wouldn't affect the time, meaning it wasn't built yet. Checked in on Tuesday and was told it would be ready Wednesday or today. Got the email just before lunch that it was ready and picked it up.

Lots and lots of pallets of PSU's and mother boards in the warehouse, very friendly staff but really busy.

      • Yes! My build was sent out today!

    • me, ordered 27th, Shipped 17/12

  • I don’t have wifi on my new PC. Does anyone know how to fix it? I’ve researched and followed guides from various YT clips but still no luck. I can only see ethernet on my network connections page.

Edit: Also can’t find a Bluetooth toggle.

Does anyone know if this PC supports WIFI and Bluetooth?

    • If u stuck with the original motherboard, it doesn’t not come with Bluetooth or wifi, you need buy a seperate wifi card or USB

  • If you got the B450M Aorus Elite motherboard, it doesn't come with any of the wireless features - no wifi or Bluetooth.
You need to purchase a Bluetooth adapter like this:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Bluetooth-4-0-Nano-Adapter-Size/dp…

to be able to use Bluetooth.
