From my understanding most of these free Certs valid from 90 to 180 days, then you need to renew again
Paying $20 for a 5 years SSL cert meaning you just need to do once every 5 years?
Renewing again can be done automatically. Basically all you need to do is set up a scheduled task every week to renew and it'll automatically renew it when it's nearly expired.
Are those automation scripts that easy to re-issue the cert and automatically install it on every system though?
You could pay money for 5 years - however most browsers now won't trust a certificate that is longer the. 12 months
