  • is this phone running on android one?

    • -1

      nope

    • Motorola no longer make Android One devices, even the ones that got "One" in their name.

It might pay to point out that it does have a headphone jack. I saw "buds" and thought not.

Bought this the other day from Good Guys at the same price (to replace my smashed G7 power)

It's a great phone, and the battery life is exceptional (almost two days at my incredible usage)! It's also got NFC and a fingerprint reader and comes with a clear case in the box. Bargain!!

ordered a redmi note 9 pro 6/64gb( for au$269) the other day but have time to cancel, can anybody tell me if this is phone would be a better choice?
    thanks for any input.!

The redmi is better in basically every spec. A better comparison would be between the note 9 pro and the moto g9 plus as listed here:

Moto g9 play includes Moto buds…. which cost around $30? This bring it down to ~$200? With clean OS… like you I am not sure if I should go with redmi or moto… I have Citi credit card… so I can bring redmi down to $239 vs moto ~$200.. I am in 2 minds

      • Where can I buy Moto buds for $30 ?

        • It’s just rough estimate… actual is $69? I am confused by the ‘verve’ naming convention. If $69 the I would definitely go with moto g9 play. Amazon just upped the price of redmi to $279

stupid question but where do I get discounted jb hi-fi gift cards?

I can only see 5% discounted ones in a variety of rewards programs

    • Coles I think

  • Is there any reason why one would ever choose this over oppo a52

  • Oppo a52 has 6gb ram. Moto g5 don’t have compass… oppo has better display

    https://versus.com/en/motorola-moto-g9-vs-oppo-a52

Moto bud charge is game changer….. if you need it

    • Oppo A52 only has 4gb RAM

      • Sorry my bad yes 4gb is correct

  • same price at good guys too

I have this phone, came from a G5 Plus, before that an iPhone 7.

Great phone - I paid $290 at JB's about a month ago. Great battery longevity, very rarely see pixels - only in direct sun light. Camera seems to take terrific pics too. My GF has the iPhone 12, that takes better pics, but to me the G9 is completely acceptable in this capacity.

The buds are amazing. I have Bose QC35ii's but they are too hot for my head in summer. I was prepared to spend up to $150 on buds alone to keep the tunes rolling.

These buds sound almost as good - I kid you not, I was floored by their sound quality. When the G5 Plus starting getting too laggy I thought I'd try the this combo and I couldn't be happier.

I'm not a gamer, just a listener and reader and this phone works great for these uses.

Love the no frills OS and lack of bloatware.

    What a bargain device.
