Never had any issues with smart tv or ps4 connecting to my orbi. Just won't connect? Can't see the SSID?
Yes just refuses to connect.
Are you using the default authentication settings? WPA2-PSK with AES or whatever it defaults to?
Have you tried setting your guest wifi to open (no password) to see if it's an authentication issue vs signal interference? If PS4/smart tv connects to guest when open/no password, range and interference are eliminated, leaving only authentication to troubleshoot. <- dont leave your guest wifi open of course
have you tried forcing it onto 2.4GHz vs 5?
Does the PS4 'see' the WiFi? If not, may be a 5GHz channel issue - check all your devices and Orbi are set to region: Australia
The original PS4 is 2.4Ghz only, is that the one you have? The Orbi combines the 2.4 and 5Ghz networks by default and may be causing the PS4 to not recognise it as a viable network. Try setting up the WiFi connection manually, ie by typing the SSID and password in using the manual option.
I've personally got an RBK40 and its reliable as heck. Replaced the ISP Sagecom router and oh god, it went from restarting 4 times a day to never as you would expect
