Hi Luke, just ordered my 2nd machine this year through you guys (and cancelled my Dell order accordingly), any idea what the timeframe for the i7/3080 deal is? The usual 14 business days or will this deal take a little longer due to the number of orders? Thanks mate.

    • +3

Thanks for your order! We've ramped up big time with the aim of being on that usual 14 business day estimate. It is a phenomenally busy period so a little patience may be required but we've made all the necessary internal scalings.

      • Awesome! As long as it's here before Christmas!

  • this is a really balanced build, maybe the ram speed could be increased but well done

      Quick translation:

Great work, little bit crap, but cheers.

Whilst I haven't purchased from these guys I do like how they work directly with this site and its members, take feedback and try to provide something that even tech savvy buyers have a hard time finding issue with.

If only more companies did this.👍

for once this slower ram is actually the optimal choice; this build is on b460 so the max ram speed is 2666MHz, since intel locks higher rates to z490 only

      the good ol' compliment sandwich

    I'm a simple man, I see @luketechfast , I upvote :D

If you're gonna buy this, do yourself a favour and upgrade the PSU

  • luketechfast, 3060 ti should be announced in 2 days. Any plan to have a Boxing day deal?

    • +2

We're working on 3060 Ti systems, yep. Not sure on timings for deals at this stage - waiting to hear what supply will be like.

      • ah… so… how's that supply looking? :)

        have a great weekend!

  • Hey Luke - Can't believe I missed the Budget Gaming PC deal - I was going to buy it on Saturday…. :(
Anything similar at the price point you might be able to offer (~$800)
Please!!! Great setup for kids who are starting to want a gaming PC.

I'm not sure how much you value the $130 - but IMO you're getting a helluva lot more grunt from the 2060 in this deal.

    • Guess this deal is way better

  • Dumb question is there much difference in Bronze and Gold PSU's??

    • A few extra watts drawn at the wall for bronze compared to gold.

If you leave your PC on all the time, it could pay for itself in a year.

  • As I noted on the other 2060 deal, the 5700XT is a better deal. Anyone buying this 2060 should upgrade the power supply which leaves ~$80 difference. I know some people like/need smaller cases but you're paying a high (relative) price for it.

Although I guess it depends on the games you play/resolution. The 2060 will struggle with some 1440p gaming whereas the 5700XT will do 60 fps in most games.

    • the r5 3600 equivlavent performance here is also something to consider vs the 3500x in the other deal, particularly at 1080p, but it's hard to find how much of a difference that would really make

guess it's a moot point as the 5700xt is no longer available, sadly

  • are the fans RGB by default or do I need to get upgraded hardware to get the RGB colors?

    • There are multiple color modes including the rainbow pictured, selectable by a button on the case. They're included.

      • thank you :)

  • I know all this technical stuff means a lot to a lot of people, but as someone who used to know stuff but lost track years ago, I'd just love to see a best value VR rig, WFH workstation or optimal Cyberpunk 2077 build. Something to anchor what the PC is perfect for based on what you'd want it for would make a huge difference to me.

    • Something to anchor what the PC is perfect for based on what you'd want it for would make a huge difference to me.

I think it comes down to how much this service is worth to you. Doing this kind of testing and recommendation based on the software being used takes money which will be passed on to the customer.

      • Thanks for the reply.

But… would it? I mean, there's benchmarks freely available for most every use case, right? And their own knowledge gained over however many builds for people asking for just those systems.

I might be being naive, but if you asked them to "build me a great value system that handles VR really nicely", they'd come back with an answer. Maybe I'm just a dreamer, but I can't be the only one..?

        • Even if the benchmarks are free it takes time to run them accurately and they need updating.

Also covering a large amount of use cases means a lot of software to be continuously tested as it changes.

Knowledge may not necessarily build up over time as new hardware features are added and software starts to take advantage of those which changes recommendations depending on how important performance in that software is to you.

If you want really generic recommendations like running games/VR or running MS Office then it might be pretty easy to make a recommendation.

I think it might also be a tricky area for system builders to make recommendations for really specific use cases as if their PC doesn't work that well with that software for reasons beyond their control it still leaves a bad impression on the customer.

Unless system builders are willing to invest in a lot of their own testing it is easier to just offer systems at different price points with increasing performance as that should give a good result even if its not the best performance or most cost optimised.

  • Hi Luke, can I swap to another case instead the leaper and lance-v for this deal? I'm looking for any white tempered glass case. I'm willing to pay the gap. Thanks

    • +1

Please email [email protected] and we'll see - it would only be one we have in stock rather than getting one in

      • Thanks, I've sent the email last Sat. Will wait then.

  • Hi Luke, I sent email to the support team last Friday. Just want to make sure that you guys got my email.

    • Ditto as above - without knowing specifics, I'm sure it's in the mailboxes and you'll get a reply as soon as we can.

  • Hi, Luke, any chance of doing another deal with RTX3080 or RX 6800 XT before the year end?

    • Impossible to say because there's no certainty on stock beyond what we have coming to fulfil existing orders.

      • Oh thanks for the reply anyways.

      • Any indication for what stock is like in February or March?

  • Is there any wifi ready mobo that can be added to the mix? Pretty keen on this one

  • Hi Luke, I recommend a friend buy their pc from you guys. Its failed already - you requested video evidence which they provided on Tuesday. Cyberpunk is just around the corner which they've been dying to play - please don't make me regret recommending them

  • Can we change the case to something different one?

  • Hi Luke, anything else like this coming? Need basicLly this for mid Jan.
