Any idea of the write performance? I have the slide version and it is PAINFULLY slow to write
I'd love to know this too, I'll do some digging.
UPDATE: 2 reviews on Amazon vary from 25-40MB/s write speeds.
That's okay but I was considering the 256GB version and those speeds are too slow for my needs. Bummer.. I was hoping for at least 80MB/s
This looks to be a much better design than the slide one. I have issues with it shrinking back into its enclosure. I might get this one for qol purposes.
Totally agree. The slide one has a horrible habit of just… sliding back into its enclosure if I try to plug it into a tight USB port.
I've got a couple of the metal version of this, (exactly the same just metal outside instead of plastic) and just ordered another 6 this morning from amazon. The're a few dollars more then the plastic ones, but i'd hope that they're more durable. They get a bit warm when being used, but nothing that gives me any concern, apart from that they're fast and work great.

this plastic one is obviously cheaper and a better deal.
I personally got the metal ones, they're for work and i paid the bit extra for durability.
