Sony 55" Full HD 3D LED TV KDL55EX720 - $1599 at Dick Smith

420

Sony BRAVIA KDL55EX720 55" EX720 Series Full HD 3D TV

I won't clutter the post with too many specs - needless to say you can get them from the Sony website, or from the Dick Smith web-page directly.

Seems to be a great price, seeing as JB Hifi have it for $1798, and only recently there was an OzBargain post (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/58035) from BigBrownBox for $1795.

However, I note that DSE's stock levels seem to be quite low - in WA at least, many stores say "Out of Stock" and the ones that don't, still say "Low Stock".

Still might be useful for price-matching at other stores though!

P.S. This is my first post, please be kind!

Which JB you bought from ? It would be great if you can post the copy of your invoice as I am really in the market for 55" HX820.

        • Thanks guys, worked hard to get it down to that price. it was a 55" HX820 and the gorilla glass so far has saved on more than one occaison :)

Sorry i cant provide receipt as i dont like to provide it, the store was macquarie centre nsw, and the guy seemed to be really helpfull and want to beat others prices.

Loving the 3d features on mine, still average once a week watching 3d movies

Some people have the money to spend on what they like, and because its not and entry level tv doesnt mean it cant be a bargain to some.

is your neg just for the fact you dont think 3d and led, is a bargain?

        • +12

Thats not a valid reason for negging this deal, because you like plasma over led.

The deal is about finding the lowest price, this is the current lowest price, so unless the price or seller is bad, i dont see your point.

That's the problem with electronics. Next year this TV will probably be around the $1k mark, maybe lower, but what do you watch in the meantime? Your old CRT? Problem is you have to jump eventually, it will ALWAYS be cheaper "next year".

      • +1

this tv will not be 1k next year.
the model will stop being produced before it reaches a price point of 1k.

        • +1

I think what sparkles means is that there will be similar sized/spec TV for $1k after one year.

The depreciation should be more bearable if you don't upgrade every 12 months!

      There's a Sony 55inch FullHD plasma for $700??
Where? Seriously I'm keen to know so I can go and buy it this weekend.

      • Im pretty sure its in regards to this one:
        www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57258

I'm pretty bummed i missed out as well, but there will almost definitely be an even better deal around the corner

  • Need to add an adaptor for wireless use normally cost you another $90

    • or you can buy the belkin ethernet to wireless N adapter for ~$60

  • So I finally buckled and bought this TV. Can anyone recommend me the cheapest place to get a compatible rechargable 3D glasses?

  • This TV any good? Im tossing up between this or the LG 55LW6500 not sure which is better besides the active vs passive argument.

  • My Pioneer Plasma still looks better than most Tv's these days, even though It's 5 years old!

I always get tempted to upgrade when I see these deals and prices, but then I think to myself, am I really upgrading?

  • 2nds World,carton damaged-

Panasonic 55' full HD 3D Neo Plasma $1295.

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/58165

Don't know which one is better but it's $300 less.

An old CRT is still good enough for the quality of the programs provided.

Not a bad price - Costco has the entry level Sony 55" LCD for $1099 atm though

    • not bad, they were $1299 5 weeks ago there

    • you can pick up this 55EX500 from JB for less than $1000.

  • I would get this but I'm interested in getting the newer model with Gorrilla glass which is much more appealing to look at. (NX720)
Though that is a 46" and it's the same price.. although I can get it for $300 cheaper heh.. damn decisions!

  • Just noticed that BigBrownBox have now dropped their price down to $1599 now too.

  • electronicvalue on e-bay will beat nearly anybodys price on all new sony products…..
