  • Experts comments on this laptop will be greatly appreciated.

    • No Thunderport 3 port for external GPU enclosure is one drawback
      RTX 2070 Super (115W?) (non Max-Q)
The audio speakers quality is probably the biggest negative, but not many laptops have decent audio anyway
      SD Card slot

      • I don't know why you'd need an eGPU with an onboard 2070S already? Also I don't know anyone that needs onboard SD card slots unless they're a photographer.

I think the bigger issues would be the low nits and the Intel CPU which is blown out of the water by Ryzen.

The 3000 series gpus are expected first half of 2021 with some people sayung January so might be worth holding off?

For 2600 I think it's a pretty good deal. Besides the okay ips level screen with below 300 nit brightness, your getting a pretty good deal.

Complaints seems to be few and far in between according to google with a few having ethernet issues or Quirks with the panel.

  • I would bite if it was $2000.

I got 7 msi laptops for my business about 10 years ago. Was not that sure of an MSI branded laptop from a quality perspective - plus they were bottom end. All been great. Did SSD upgrades to some but all still run (except batts died and my wife smashed a screen on one). Anyway brand was good.

Decent 17 inch alternative to dell's G7 also from centrecom
    https://www.centrecom.com.au/asus-rog-strix-g17-173-fhd-core…

    • Yeah i was eyeing that one off too!

    • $459 more than the G7 though, does it go on sale often?

      • The Dell G7's RTX 2070 is the Super 115W Max-P variant
and the Asus ROG Strix G17 has no webcam

        • Yeah, I'm glad I got the G7 when it was <$2K. Looking for a laptop for my mate now though, so leaning toward a Lenovo Legion

          • @RC13: G7 is still sub $2000 on dell website using this code LOVEKEANU - 2070 variant. I don't believe the G7 17 has ever had a 2070 Super for under $2000?
