Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle 8GB $769 + Delivery @ PC Case Gear

80

I know this might not exactly be considered a "deal", however considering how everyone has been searching for some new GPU stock, I thought people would benefit from this post.

A lot of the other variants are in stock too: https://www.pccasegear.com/category/193_2145/graphics-cards/…

  • Please repost on the sister site, "Ozdeal"

Its only worth mentioning because of the current price gouging… dissapointing to say the least

    • Isn't it on par with the release pricing of the 2060?

    • +1

Nice, first one in. I like that you were so annoyed by this you had to go out of your way to let OP know. Also great job with "Ozdeal", very funny, very creative, do you mind if I steal this from you? More like OzSteal am i right

Anyone else think Mid-range or just GPUs in general are priced ridiculously high?

    • +1

Yeah. I’d like to see this a couple of hundred cheaper.

    • +1

I paid au$420 in November 2014 two months after launch, admittedly the Aussie dollar was at about 85c and now it's at 74 to the USD, but (profanity) this $1000 GPU shit.

  • +2

    MSRP is around $600

  • +5

Nearly 50% Australia tax on these cards is a little hard to swallow. At the price point of some of these cards I'd be looking at a 3070 instead.

  • +9

This appears to perform about 20% faster than a 5700XT

Good 5700XT deals recently on Black Friday could be had for ~$550

    $550 x (1 + 20%) = $660

And that isn't even accounting for generational increases where you should be getting more bang for you buck

    No thanks…

    • -1

Well you aren't considering all of the new Nvidia features in your 20% assumption, which isn't directly matched yet on the 6800 (let alone whether the 5700xt will end up supporting those features). These features are worth some value performance aside.

Obviously this post isn't for you.

      • +3

Each to their own but in my opinion these features you speak of are not worth the huge premium you are paying

          • RT
          • DLSS
          • Reflex
          • RTX Voice

5700xt has no ray tracing capability, and it's looking like the 6700/XT will not be able to match toe to toe with RT given the sub-par 6800 RT performance. Not even sure it is an apples to apples comparison against the 5700xt.

@gmail92: Everything you say is probably right but still doesn't invalidate my above comments which I stated are my opinion

            • @krazek: Sure, although manufacturers and resellers price their products at the market price at which consumers are willing to pay, not at what the proportionate performance-to-dollar value increases are. Given this you will probably only be happy with the prices when the 4xxx comes out, given the price history of the 2060/Super.

              • @gmail92:

Yes this is the part I am actually harping on. There are a lot of unknowing consumers who may not be savvy to the fact that they are paying massive premiums for features they may not value highly. My main point was from a rasterized gaming performance POV this card is poor value given the alternatives currently

          • @gmail92: Raytracing isn't worth it anyway most people won't run it all the time they turn it off due to the performance hit, I still remember the let down that was bfv ray tracing…

  • +3

For those complaining this is not a deal. This is around 10% less performance than a 3070 but 25% cheaper. Of course, is is simply considering current prices.

    • +2

You always pay much more to gain 10% of performance in the computer world

      • any world, diminishing returns

  • +3

    399USD = 769AUD ?

    • +4

USD prices typically exclude taxes, but even if you include a 10% gst tax, its still overpriced aussie tax.

So far the only card that seems truish to the MSRP is the 3080s EVGA at PLE - which explains the massive, massive queue.

got the ASUS 5600 XT 3 Fans for $330 on black Friday, is this worth more than double the price? I think i will skip, until next year when the price of 6800 xt drop to $1000 then i will buy that one. not really interested in 3060 ti as it is still last year's performance, nothing really special
