Also checkout eBay……. The 2000+ pairs sold over the black Friday weekend must be making their way back to ebay by now!

LOL, not worth ebay fees. local is better ;)

      • $0 selling fee with eBay plus promo, but still get hit with the 2.6%+30c fee for PayPal, unless you do COD

        • yeah exactly. Don’t forget shipping fees as well

          • @skido: Well if you can find it on eBay for $150 (assuming genuine), and you need it now, would you instead go to buy it from OW instead for $39 more?

            • @ATangk: From buyer POV, ebay.. I can wait and save $38 thats fine with me.

But from a seller POV, selling on ebay is not worth the fees. Say if you bought $99 AirPods and wanna sell them on ebay for $150. Lose 10% ebay fees, 2.6% PayPal and shipping fees and thats basically your cost price. Sell on fb marketplace $150 cash pickup easy.

@skido: After selling on eBay… dealing with people on marketplace/gumtree is sometimes worth the shipping cost. Low ballers, people not showing up, it’s a real headache sometimes. Just print and drop off at a post box sometimes is easier. Just price it a bit higher to offset the fees.

                • @ATangk: Yea but even if you decide to sell on eBay for $200, you’d still get people who want to buy them for $200 locally. You can’t really price it any higher because it’s around like $220 on eBay from those reputable sellers. And it’s also not just the shipping cost, PayPal and eBay fees are included. I’d rather sit at home and have people come to pickup from my place

                  • @skido: For a product that moves as well as AirPods, yes, local is probably better so you can see if it’s fake. On the other hand, eBay lets you force a refund for a fake product vis PayPal, so there are buyer protections too.

As for selling, most of the time the local only attracts people in your capital city, whereas eBay can get global reach if you choose. Better for lower movement products. I mean… that is why eBay fees exist anyways.

                    • @ATangk: Yeah Ikik. I’m just saying that demand for airpods locally is just as strong as demand nationwide on eBay. So rather sell to local than on ebay

    • Avoid those eBay scalpers. Support and buy from local business.

      • I don’t know why you would support Aussie businesses if you’re paying more there than via eBay. Sure there’s the risk it’s a fake, etc, but the avoid scalper discussion is only for when you’re paying more than at a retail store.

Where they make a lousy 2-5% margin. Some Retailers would be better off selling cigarettes(which are made in Australia? Not China).
Most Samsung products are made in Vietnam, not China (or assembled in China) yet us Aussies are furious about a tweet from some Chinese scumbag.
China is trying to send us down the gurgler, by boycotting our products and leaving our quality products off shore (except for baby formula it seems).
The majority of Chinese people are wonderful, and my best friend was born in Honk Kong, and my Daughter in Law is Chinese/Malaysian. Time to start boycotting Chinese products, except this would send most retailers like Gerry Harvey broke (which most Ozbrs would enjoy).

  • Grabbed a couple of pairs.

    Thanks OP!

  • Keep in mind that although office works does price beat, they do add shipping cost which ends up being around $197 or something in total.
