I bought 20L of this stuff last time, it smells nice, like sunscreen.

    • Thanks, I was gonna ask if it smells OK. Don't want to be stuck with 5L that smells like A$$.

I love buying in bulk but how much hand santiser do people use anyways. 1 small droplet is enough, you don't need to drink it to kill covid.

I use 1 pump between every customer, they like to see you use it.

I use about 500ml a day or two.

      • I don't think you need a pumps worth or get a smaller 1-2ml pump. It wouldn't make sense pumping more than 3ml. at 2ml per pump, you would have between 125-250 customers a day.

        • We don't know what they do for work though. If @MasterScythe works in men's health, we'd best hope they're using more than 1mL.

      1 small droplet is enough

You must have tinny hands if one small droplet is enough to cover all of your hands. Either that or you're not using it right. You get that it just takes one tiny spot on your hand to not come into contact with the sanitiser for your hands to still be contaminated, right?

      WHO recommends a palmful http://www.cehjsouthasia.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/HowT…

Looks like hand sanitizer but doesn't say it anywhere. 1ml is more than enough, 1 droplet maybe isn't.

It needs to fully envelop the virus for 20 seconds.

If you use too little it can cause 'viral hardening' where the lipid layer of any coronavirus will become slightly more resilient to alcohols and acids.

It's just cheaper and easier to use too much than too little; it's not in short supply anymore, and I have the extra $5 to 'splurge' on safety, even if it is just feel-good.

Reason for the vote down? Going to give any reason for the neg or is that too hard or are you just covidiots?

        • I didn’t vote you down

          • @sunnyc: Wasn’t directed at you personally sorry

If you're buying bulk, be careful how you store it because alcohol evaporates at room temperature. Its a bit like bleach, which might start off at the concentration printed on the bottle, but if you store it the wrong way it becomes less effective.

    • Alcohol won't really diffuse though the plastic, and will very rapidly reach equilibrium with the vapour space above it. I wouldn't expect a significant reduction in concentration, unless you kept this for years, or left the lid off.

      • Hand sanitiser has a shelf life of 2 - 3 years according to the egg-spurts.

I'm not sure this is a great deal. Sure the 5L container is good if you're refilling existing ones but all my local coles/woolworths have 500ml pump packs for $3-4 and as low as $1.47 in recent weeks. Even failing that, bunnings has 1L for $8 https://www.bunnings.com.au/scotts-1l-hand-sanitiser_p018894…

    • Scotts updated their fragrance. Now smells citrusy and very nice.

    • The bunnings $8 deal is out of stock in most locations and I have never seen a 500mL pump pack for $1.47 at coles/woolworths. Feel free to share the deal next time you see it. Might help the community

      • Not sure where you're located but my 3 closest Bunnings all have stock. Pallets last time i went in.

Point taken re: $1.47 deal - this was last weekend.
