Spectra Breast Pumps 20% off Sitewide Christmas Sale @ Spectra Baby

370

Spectra is doing 20% off storewide for Christmas, starting on 10 December.

In their newsletter they've said there won't be another sale till May 2021, so get in now if you think you'll need anything before then.

My wife uses the S1+ with built-in battery and loves it - down to $303.20 from $379.

The S2 is cheaper at $239.20 but requires AC power.

Great time to get extra replacement accessories like shields/flanges.

Don't bother with their bottles - the flanges are compatible with Philips bottles.

Highly recommend this pump mum's who want to increase supplies along with Fenugreek seed. I am one of those small percent of mum who diagnosis with low milk supply but managed to breastfed my three babies with extra pumping and with the method that I found from essential babies below (The tea did not help).

    ===========
GUIDELINES WHEN USING FENUGREEK TO INCREASE MILK SUPPLY

    1. Use Natures Own 1000mg Fenugreek
    2. Ignore directions on label. Take 2 capsules three times a day. Dosage can be increased to improve effectiveness eg 3-4 capsules three times a day. Maximum 15 capsules a day. If a higher dose is required a Herbalist needs to be consulted.
    3. Fenugreek will take 24 - 72 hours to be effective.
    4. If the breasts become uncomfortably full, Fenugreek can be reduced to half the dose ie – 1 capsule three times a day. When the breast fullness settles, slowly increase to 6 per day.
    5. If you are Diabetic, asthmatic, have an allergy to peanuts or taking an anticoagulant discuss using Fenugreek with the midwife / herbalist prior to commencing.
    6. Discuss with the midwife the importance of breastfeeding management, diet, rest, fluid intake and expressing your breasts to increase supply.
    7. Fenugreek should be avoided during pregnancy.
    8. Fenugreek can be gradually reduced and ceased when supply is boosted. It can be recommenced if necessary. Follow up with the clinic Nures is recommended.
    9. Due to fenugreeks high fibre content, some mothers may experience diarrhoea. This resolves quickly when the dose is reduced or ceased.
    10. Fenugreek can produce an odour similar to maple syrup on the skin. When you notice this odour you are on the right dose,a small number of mothers have reported breast refusal, which resolved when fenugreek was ceased.
    11. It is recommended to visit a Naturopath / Herbalist / Homeopath for further guidance when taking herbs during Breastfeeding.

a Herbalist needs to be consulted

I've got this nasty griffin problem, know any good herbalists that could sell me some buckthorn?

I demand a round of Gwent before I share that info with you.

    • Cheers thanks for the tip. My wife also had low supply so will keep this in mind next time around!

Bought the S1 plus recently but ended up buying a tommee tippee double pump as well during black friday sales. Normal retail is $349 and directly comparable. Wife absolutely loves the size (about a quarter of the size of the S1 plus) and can continue around the house with it in a little sling bag.

No doubt the spectra is a decent unit, but consider other options before buying. Their 30 day return policy is a joke. No one bothers to answer phones or reply to emails and looking into it further appears to be a Singaporean company drop shipping from an Adelaide fulfilment centre. Postage was amazing fast though.

Going to wait till May, fingers crossed.

    • i wouldnt wait if you know you want one - i waited and ended up having to buy it full price!

      • Is there a risk of buying one and then not needing it as there's no milk?
