Staff family and friends sale was much better. 80% off. Too bad it got unpublished from here. Lucky I got in before it did. Happy with my $25 hybrid watch

I am keen to know about this. When was that?

      • Was a few weeks or so ago. Mods took it down because they couldn't verify business details or legitimacy of the site
        https://fossil-group-australia.myshopify.com/

I took a look and it seemed too well polished to be a scam site so I took a gamble and ordered a bag and watch. Came pretty quickly with free delivery. The 80% off was a flash sale for 2 days. They had their entire range I think or at least a large chunk. 5 item limit from memory. Included their other brands like Emporio Armani, Skagen, etc.

        • Thanks julz but it asks employee id to be able to continue…

          • @arctan: And it validates it :-(

            Got any codes?

        • are you a staff?

          • -2

@CyberMurning: The previous sale was family and friends and you didn't need a Staff ID. But keen to hear if anyone has found out a code that can be used because apparently Ozbargain mods are all for supporting the use of generated codes like the credit card number generator promoted on the Tidal trial post…

Battery won't last most a day, just FYI

I do like the design of Fossil smart watches, in fact, I had a Gen5 Julianna for some time. I'm not discouraging this deal, I think this is a great price for this watch. However, I would suggest anyone wanting to buy a smart watch think about your most frequent use cases first. When I bought the Julianna I thought I would mostly use it for fashion, Google Pay and music and it served my needs fine. I charged it every night, rarely will I need to charge it during the day at work. Though when I went cycling on the weekend, the activity tracking merely lasted about two hours before the battery died. This is after I paused it every time I stopped, and always had my phone with me so it can use the phone's GPS. When it was using the watch's GPS, the battery can only last around an hour or so. I've moved on to the Garmin Instinct Solar now and I couldn't be happier. The Julianna is with my mum now as a glorified pedometer and notifications alerter, but she loves the design and the watch faces, so that makes me happy too.

  • I bought one of these a few months ago and returned it instantly. I read some reviews that gave it 3 stars and at the price I thought it would be fine.
When it arrived it had really slow responsiveness and poor battery life. It was hard to use any of the functions because it took so long to respond. Maybe I got a dud but it was pretty much unusable.
I bought the Garmin FR 245 Music at $280 and its fantastic. Really snappy and does everything I need.

If you like the look of this watch: Great, buy it

If you want a smart watch to use daily activity tracking, music etc: Poor, avoid it
